A friend introduced me to this game some months ago, and we've played 7 or 8 matches so far. It might be my favorite board game at this point. Really looking forward to future episodes on each card. Your presentation and deep dive so far is very insightful.

This game defo allows it, as face up simple the game can be there's a lot of nuance to the situations you come across etc.

I used Chani to over-commit to a battle - forcing other players to over-commit. Then retreated them all but one to get 3rd. Another time I over-committed in a 3-player game and everyone else stayed out of the battle. Allowing me to retreat a bunch of troops and win with only one troop.

Freighter fleet with Ecaz is a lot of fun. Also as you mentioned, the combo with invasion ships is very powerful as it guarantees you 3 bumps every time you draw it which is basically a better version of Hundro’s ring ability.

What is this card with arrow down action? I dont have the expansion yet and I can't find instruction anywhere.

That means the card effect is triggered if you "unload" it (in addition to normal revealing). Unloading is discarding or trashing that card.

I feel like death commando should be a bit higher. The freman bond is just a bonus. It's got access that matters and it's cheap trash. I think if you get a game with low point combat it goes up even more in value. It also could trash itself later.

Rating 1 would be considered highest. We're getting there. I'd think of this as a deep dive rather than a true tier list. And yes, there are cards better than Kwisatz :)

I have! It looks cool, but I'm not 100% on backing that yet. I've already got War of the Ring, and it's one of my favorite games. Not sure I need another 2pl war game (though I'm hoping one of my friends backs it!). I need to give the rulebook a read.

In a late game I bought Chani and water petler so I got two water 💦 in reveal. Next round I used my card that says 3 💧 for 1 winning point 😢 but unfortunately I didn’t win that game. I gave up my alliance with cosmo guild 😢 I coulda have winning point for a spice. 😂 becouse I also had card 3 spice for 1 winning point that game was insane. It was really unfortunate I made that mistake

Guild Chief Administrator - I don't really agree with calling this card medicore. This card is like swiss knife, depending on your need you can use it as a spoon or fork. If you need trashing, faction access, ship action during reveal turn. This card is a piece of puzzle that only you can do during game, thus this card is not really straightforth to use, its reward good decision making. It's good for: Hundro (to overload on shipping), Ecaz (to focus trashing), Tessia (any faction access is usufull for her), Yuna (just another way too boost money making) Its especially good if you got cards that value discarding and trashing like In the Shadows. Imagine going as Tessia to Heighliner, discarding In The Shadow then trashing it. This card is bad for: combat strategies and spice must flow strategies. So most likely if you're playing like Paul, Beast or Helena it might not be good idea to buy it.

Well, everyone's going to have differing experiences with these cards. I personally don't like it that much but I can see the argument that it has versatility. In my view, the double unload trigger is the best thing it does and you have to have the right pieces for that to work. Not impossible, but not something I generally take highly unless I have a plan for it or, as you mentioned, I'm using a leader who would benefit. YMMV

It might be a little low ranked perhaps but it is a card for a few particular types of play whereas there's some cards that are good for pretty much most decks so to me it does lose a mark or two for that. As I said and stand by, it's a bit of a clumsy card to use and I think it's prone to appearing in your hand at the wrong time. It's very nice when set up right but I don't feel that will happen often enough.
