Also, for the record, I ran the numbers last year on Nash when he shot volume. From 05/06 until 07/08 (three season, 65 game sample), in games where he shot 15+ total shots, his splits were 52/45/91, and his true shooting percentage was 63.9.

I'm curious as to the reason Damian Lillard was left off this list tbh, especially when you consider the fact that he won a couple 3 point contests himself.

true, it was percentages when I made the list. I think Bird snuck in there because of research influence. Reddick, Kyrie, and Dame are all potentially snubs.

In my opinion, Damian Lillard is the 2nd best shooter of all time. Most of his seasons are him shooting slightly above the league aversge while shooting very, very tough shots off the dribble while being the primary focus. I think him and steph have the best range ever and Obviously he's no steph curry because steph curry does All that while shooting 40% but dames a career 37% shooter while shooting around 8 a game

Unless Durant somehow stays completely healthy with no drop-off, he'd have to play 40s to catch Malone. He's about to turn 36 and is 8,000 points behind. To put into perspective. 8,000 points ago for Durant was October 16, 2018. Opening night when he was still with the Warriors.

5 is fair for Bird, but your bias is showing. Bird LED THE LEAGUE several times in 3s taken and made in his era. He won the 1st 3 point contests. He was THE FIRST person to weaponize the 3, and his 3P% isn’t that far off from Dame Lillard. Again, 5 is fair. But every person after him saw HIM and began using the 3 more, because they remember HIM being so deadly with it. The fact he came to the league at the same time as the 3 is worth extra credit. He didn’t practice that shot until he got into the league, and didn’t really start using it a ton until year 4 or 5.

Look at the assist number when you're talking about Steve Nash. You can't have all of those assists and be checking up a bunch of shots. Saying that it would have been better if he had shot more and been less efficient just doesn't make any sense.😊

if you look for a gif of Steve Nash shooting a 3 or jump shot you won't find one. It's literally all assists.

@@whatshorts that efficiency is what made him the MVP two times. He gave up long shots to put up alley-oops to guys who could make dunks at a very high percentage. I'm sure the percentages of the players that played with him win up when he was on the court. It's hard to understate that.
