Even tho I love Sucker Punch, I understand the criticisms. Watchmen is one I will NEVER understand the gripes some people suddenly have with it in recent years. It was badass when I saw it in the theaters in 8th grade and it’s still badass now. One of those rare adaptations that pretty closely follows the graphic novel, which I also read, and succeeds at doing so. It’s always been my number 1 Snyder flick

The extended cut is the better film it fixes the ending an adds in the fun dance number. Snyder said he has a directors cut of the film that has never been released with even more footage. It is a depressing film though an if thats not your thing then it prolly aint for you. I still think its Snyders weakest film but I dont think its bad the theatrical cut is just ok. But the extended is good movie its a dark depressing rock n roll Aliece in Wonderland movie its designed specifically to be a cult film.

Oh 300 quotes! I'm the waitress at a wildly popular bar/club in Atlanta called Clermont Lounge. I overheard some girl saying about the extreme crowdedness, "This is madness!" I turned around with my tray held shield like (obviously no drinks on it, probably just got back from paying for an order) and looked at her all serious, "Madness?! This. Is. CLERMONT!" Well Inception is a rare case because everything that they are doing in the dream has weight and impact to the story. To an extent you could argue it does in Sucker Punch but it's not executed nearly as well.

I agree that the Watchmen film deserves more praise than it often receives. It may not be as good as the graphic novel in many respects (a high bar indeed), but I do think it nailed many of the themes, characters and visuals that were so memorable in the comic.

Solid reasoning with your list. I'd go; 1. Watchmen - the source material is a masterpiece and the movie is pretty much the exact same thing. Cast and score are great and the tweaks to the ending probably serve a cinematic version better. 2. BvS - Didn't like the Lex or Doomsday interpretations but loved everything else. Just have this a whisker above ZSJL with how much Batfleck killed it in this one. 3. ZSJL - The 4 hours flew by and loved every minute of it. Way fewer issues than BvS but just didnt quite hit some of the same highs for me as that film and definitely felt like we only got part 1 of an epic 3-parter. If we ever get the sequels they could easily top this list. 4. MoS - Cavill, Crowe & Shannon were awesome, another great score, the usual epic visuals. A bit lower on the list due to the pretty basic plot and it sticking a bit too close to the generic superhero movie formula when compared with his other DC stuff. 5. Dawn of the Dead - Loved the movie and pretty ingenious as a remake. Definitely a modern classic in the horror genre but that Snyder vision still seems to be developing in this one and it usually goes exactly where you'd expect story-wise. 6. 300 - 10/10 visuals, pretty much set the Snyder template. Loved the mythic quality of it but leaning a bit too hard into style over substance. I know he gets that critique and I'd usually disagree, but can't argue that point with 300 or Sucker Punch. ------ very much agree with your big gap here ------ 7. Sucker Punch - Visually very cool but not much else I enjoyed about this one. Only thing on the list I dislike but kind of respect it for being its own thing. Have not seen/probably will not see the owls one but from the looks of it it'd probably still rank above Sucker Punch.

I still say that Zak Snyder’s Dawn Of The Dead remake is his best film if only because A: it’s a remake that stands on it’s own two feet and runs like the wind or in this case like the zombies in this movie. B: It’s the only Zak Snyder movie I’ve ever seen in theaters to this very day! Plus it’s one of the best remakes of any film that’s ever been released in American cinema!

The new ending crafted for the Watchmen movie makes no sense to me. Adrian's original plan was to give humanity an external threat, in order to see itself as one people united against a shared threat that may or may not come back. In the movie, the threat is an agent of the American government, that no one has the power to stop, who could blow up cities any time he wants. But stopped for some reason.

It probably won't change your opinion of the film much if at all, but one of the most consistently misunderstood parts about Sucker Punch is that the main girl is not framed for killing her sister; she actually did kill her accidentally while shooting at her father. This is why she's so wracked with guilt and why she ultimately allows herself to be lobotomized in the end, as she can't deal with what she did. This is much clearer in the extended cut (again, studio fuckery never helps Snyder films). Also, Emily Browning's character is a projection of Abbie Cornish's character, which is why they both have plotlines about losing a kid sister.

I should of notice that owls of guahole was a zack Snyder movie with all the lope holes in it it which didn't annoy me at the time. That's was because they 23 book in the guahole series between the main series and it's spin of sequel series and the one off half sequel I had not read at the time. The movie for the owls guahole tanked in us and Canada and world wide it grossed enough to make a very small profit world wide our it barely broke even.

Oh I completely get your reasons for not ranking Zack Snyder's Justice League that high. It is something that could be better if we ever get a continuation. For me, I loved it, but it's not my favorite of his either. Love it, but I see why. I don't however agree with most of your opinions about Dawn of Justice as that is my favorite of his films. I think if you like Lex or not is a good gauge of whether you like this film or not, while not true for you as you obviously really like the film, most people that hate that version hate the movie. It's just one of those things, I have never heard someone say they hate the movie, but Lex was great; never is a thing, it's just something else you have to like. But the other things of it being too early for his death, I mean, I agree in that we should have had a sequel to Man of Steel before this to get more time, but in the comics it was pretty early on in that current continuity so not too bothered by it. This is honestly a film that every time I watch it, I can always find something new about it to love. Why it is my favorite of his films and one of my favorite films of all time. I do love Watchmen and Man of Steel too though, so I get why you like them more. That's just my take.

Cyborg was considered great in this Ultimate cut critically as for Wonder woman an such I agree there solo movie scenes were better then there team up movie scenes but thats normally how it always goes because you get more time to spend with the characters by themselves in there solos. Supermans ice breath scene in the movie is easily one of Supermans coolest scenes in the dceu as is him bashing Steppenwolf into the ground an burning horn off. Wonder Woman chopping Steppenwolf head off is also easily better then any moment from Wonder Woman 1984. Flash turning back time scene is easily the best action scene of the entire film an the coolest action moment for a superhero in the film.

Its his Mona Lisa! 2 Man of Steel- I’ve loved this movie since the first time I saw it, it’s a masterpiece! 3 BvS: UE- I like both versions of this movie, but the UE is the SHIT!!!! 4 Watchmen- I will never understand the hate this movie gets. It baffles me! 5 Dawn of the Dead- One of the best horror remakes out there, really, really, REALLY good! 6 300- epic slo-mo awesomeness! 7 Legend of the Guardians- I think this is his most underrated movie, it’s not better than the ones above it!
