Super cozy monster-of-the-week vibes that also really gave you a chance to see the main characters as regular teenagers coming to terms with complex supernatural forces they've all been impacted by but could never understand until then. It lays the foundation for why the Soul Society arc is so impactful.

Also the first two arcs planted most of the seeds for all of the later things on the late story for example that ichigo was born as a quincy with white (a hollow) as his soul and that he became a shinigami (thats the reason he has two swords)

I feel like most people that hate on it don't understand what it was trying to do, people comment on how natural a lot of the character establishment felt in the first arc, but the Fullbringer arc deconstructed Ichigo as a protagonist and showed what he really wanted behind all his bluster of wanting a normal life, it's probably one of the better written arcs in the series from that angle

@@kurosakikun96ironically i actually do understand what it was trying to do, i just don't think it achieved it well. i agree with you that i don't think a lot of people get what its purpose was though. none of the criticisms i see of it are actually what was wrong with it. kubo is one of my favorite manga writers bc he's always trying to push the envelope on genre conventions and what a narrative is capable of and i see and appreciate him trying to do it in fullbring, i just don't think he did it well. but i also think most people don't understand what was actually wrong with that arc. but speak on it anyway.

I can understand why people wouldn't like the first arc, but to me, it was my favorite. What made it so unique and cool was the relationship between Ichigo and Rukia- and their contrasting new situations. Ichigo is on some classic Spider-Man type arc where he's a highschooler that gets superpowers and now has to learn to use them. While Rukia on the otherhand, was a soul reaper who now has to be a highschool girl. This made for a really nice blend of action and comedy. Rukia mentoring Ichigo made their relationship nice, too. Even more, with Inoue, Chad, and Ishida, it was like his entire friend group was also on their own Spider-Man journey- occasionally intersecting. It basically blended the concepts of "highschool" and "hero" in a unique way. Honestly, I wish we had more of this because it has a lot of potential imo. Instead, we got the "save the princess" arc and then that arc gets recycled with a new "princess". The whole show would've been a lot different if they had just stayed in highschool.

I have read everything up until the end of Fullbring, and I love all of it. Including the first arc, I wish it had went on maybe a bit longer, it had such a chill and hip vibe. My favorite part is Hueco Mundo. The Aaroniero fight was so epic, so was Grimmjow fight, and the Ulquiorra fight is my favorite one in the series so far.

the first arc is what drew me to bleach immediately, it's the FOUNDATION brother, it's the OG 2000s spooky mystery GOAT, outfts were DRIPPING, soundtrack slapped, OP slapped, it had GHOSTS, HOLLOWS, it dealt with dark human themes like grief, death, passing on, facing trauma, etc... I'm sorry but I don't trust anyone who disses arch 1😭👎 also.. fullbring arc was so engaging, the buildup to the plot twist was goat, character writing and story pacing was really dope. cmon but as a real fan i love all the arcs anyway (minus bounts lol but i still sat through every episode)

This list has to be a troll. The first arc is literally peak, without it Bleach wouldn't even exist. And Fullbring is arguably one of the best arcs and is just overhated for no reason. It's crazy how people genuinely believe the past arc> Fullbring arc when the Fullbring arc did everything better and was the most meaningful for Ichigo's character development out of all arcs. You can't expect immediate action within the literal first few episodes, that's why build up exists.

The first arc is one of my favorites in bleach but I understand why people hate it I can barley remember any villains since they feel like filler the only good episodes was ichigo visiting his mom grave and the last few episodes from uryu appearance to end The fullbring arc is underrated not gonna lie it was a good way to end the bleach anime so we can wait for thousand year blood war so tho there are more good than bad in the arc the bad is a good reason to hate it just a few like (getting rid of ichigo black cloak fullbring for the trash one in the end, changing the main villain of the arc even tho both of them mean nothing to ichigo, ichigo shinigami powers when returned were different, and making it seem like isshin kurasaki has deep secrets and it’s never explored until TYBW when it’s just thrown at are face)

The fullbring arc was one of my favorites i dont get how people dont like it, i love the psychologicl horror type elements that got introduced around the middle of the arc and just seeing ichigo trying so hard and not being able to protect things he was once able to protect was so interesting, i also really liked the fullbringers they were cool

First time watching bleach cuz I wanna say I fully watched the big 3 but I’m on the bount arc and it is not it. Pacing sucks, inconsisteno of power is not fun and is being showed throughout the whole thing, and they butchered it so bad. I know damm well this arc is just so uryu can get his powers back and fix some things like ichigo’s bankai problem (I’m at ep 94) but they really coulda wrote it better.

I honestly think the soul society arc it’s probably the single best arc in all of anime. The music, the mystery, the fights, the plot twist. Truly peak shounen. I love naruto and one piece too btw, but SS arc of bleach is just too good.
