Two of my favorite builds were an Orc, Warhammer wielding warlord essentially lol. I remember painstakingly gathering the right resources to upgrade my orcish armor and dawnguard helmet and eventually I just decided to start smacking whiterun guards around and see how long I could hold out. The sight of a helmeted striker amongst piles of dead city guards was very cool lol. The other was more thought out. I made a high elf knight character, basically orphaned from the dominion with no initial magic use. Using a greatsword and steel armor and starting as a noble defender. But eventually he contracts the vampire virus and his mind and morals start to erode into a villain.

Some of y’all don’t mage right and some of y’all deff know what’s up utilizes all the magic not just destruction and conjuration. Legendary runs are the best it makes you use enchantment and alchemy otherwise yes you are going to die a lot the point of hard mode in most games aren’t just for difficulty purposes it’s also because you understand the mechanics of the game and when/how to use them. That’s why everyone should skip easy mode that’s just to learn the map basically start on normal or hard you can learn the map as you go while also figuring out how the potions and whatever else buffs you along the way. ❤❤❤

some of us like to not do the alchemy and enchanting exploits. so while both those with just intended levels of improvement are useful it still doesnt help mage as much as smithing helps everything else. as for the spells outside healing, the three damage types, and armor spells the rest are negligible in use. and conjuration is busted while necromancy is lackluster. skyrim took magic and saw how powerful and actually versatile it was in the previous games and completely gutted it for Skyrim's puddle depth when it comes to actual mechanics. @@maddragon8738

Pure mage works best if you have enough knowledge of the game to use all of the bugs and poorly programmed/balanced mechanics to your advantage. I'm talking Necromage+Vampire Alchemy Enchanting Dragonskin All Maker Stones Aetherial Crown+Ritual Stone Destruction staff+Impact And all the busted crap from AE

Dual wielding is the strongest build type(besides stealth archer). However skyrim is so easy if your having fun play whatever you want

I just hate dual wield, at least on legendary, because you just become “tank hits, power attack”, unfortunately without mods you have no way of dodging attacks cause of the crazy aimbot, so you have to bait forward power attacks for the whole fight. At least having block means you can engage with the stagger system

I mean he's not wrong I'm playing a pure magic build right now pure magic means no putting points into hp I've already hit the def cap and using a mod that makes ward block arrows and light weapon attacks and I still die instantly and trying to insta kill things doesn't really work on legendary with magic it falls off fast

​@@user-pb2nb5nk6sYou don't have to spec into Stamina or Magicka if you use the 3 best skill lines in the game, Alchemy Smithing and Enchanting makes legendary a cake walk. I'm not even talking about exploits either unless you consider 100% cast reduction one despite it being a staple since Morrowind, meaning you can put all your attributes to health and not worry about the other resources.

the most fun I had was my Illusion character. It’s so fun’s to be able to control the npcs at will, or even pacify a beat or wolf if you can’t be bothered to fight them. It really makes you feel like you own that world

Dude, you drown your enemies in bodies with the right necromancer build. Getting stuck in doorways with your undead army is the real problem though.
