Ranking Career Mode Challenges!

Hey, welcome to another tier list video, I’ve talked about dozens of FIFA challenges on this channel, so I thought it’d be a fun idea to try to rank them by difficulty. We’ve got some really well known challenges, but also some pretty obscure ones today, so this might be the perfect video for you to plan your next save from.

Pentagon Challenge
This challenge involves winning the top division in five different continents, starting with a club in one of the weakest leagues and gradually working your way up to conquer football while constantly changing teams.
Pros
Minimum save length of five years
Use leagues and teams semi randomly, depending on CM job offers
Cons
Some leagues are kinda boring to play, with no stadiums, money or real faces
FIFA only has three continental tournaments so you have to replace Africa and North America with the MLS and World Cup
Youth Academy Only
In this challenge, you rely solely on your youth academy to develop players for your team, refraining from signing any established players. The aim is to build a successful squad entirely from homegrown talent.
Pros
Growing YA players is one of the most fun things in CM
It’s also a long term save where you can grow any club from any league into a powerhouse.
Cons
This years YA name pool is still awful, some nations only have 3 different last names
YA scouting is so overpowered that it’s barely even a challenge anymore. Probably more interesting to only sign free agents under 18.
Rebuilding a Nation Challenge (Club and Country)
This dual challenge involves both managing a club and a national team from a lesser-known footballing nation. The goal is to elevate both the club and the national team to success on the international stage.
Pros
Fun to build up an entire nation rather than a single team. You get to use the nation at the World Cup which is always one of the best CM tournaments.
Combines road to glory and academy saves into one fun idea.
Cons
EA keeps removing nations that are fun to do these saves with, Ireland is probably the best atm.
Other AI teams make dumb decisions and won’t help you to build the nation unless you give them loads of money or loan them players.
The Sir Alex Ferguson Challenge
Named after the legendary Manchester United manager, this challenge involves taking over the 18th placed team in November and rebuilding them to be more successful than his Manchester United team.
Pros
You have a clear & fun goal that involves one of the most interesting leagues in Career Mode, the Prem.
A fun semi randomised rebuild save that can go on for all 15 seasons.
Cons
Almost impossible to get an offer without reloading the save a few times
Most of the time this will be Luton or Sheff Utd, which are nowhere near as interesting as Manchester United were in 1986. Much better when a really big team is doing surprisingly badly.
Norwegian Viking Challenge
In this challenge, you take charge of a Norwegian club, typically starting with one of the worse teams, and aim to dominate both domestically before going on to conquer the Dutch, England, Scottish and French Leagues, with a core of Norwegian players.
Pros
A really fun idea based around a nation with a couple of world class players.
The challenge is basically a club and country save to begin with, then a build a nation save once you leave Norway.
Cons
You won’t be able to use Haaland or Odegaard until you’re at a massive club, and by then the save is nearly over.
You’ll have to reload a few times to make sure you get the Norway international offer. This can take a while as there are lots of 4 star nations that the game will randomise the offer for.
Loan Only Challenge
This challenge is all about loan players, because they’re the only ones you can sign. In short, you’ll begin in League Two and be trying to win the Premier League while never having a permanent signing.
Pros
Can use a new set of players each year without having to scout.
A more challenging and unique save than a traditional 4 div RTG
Cons
AI is quite bad at picking players to loan out, so most of the signings will be either way too good or way too bad for your team.

I did a type of a “Viking challenge” on fifa 20. I spread out the Scandinavian teams and Helsinki all around the world. The goal was to move all around the world and ‘conquer’ the continents. Was only able to sign Scandinavian/nordic players and youth player. I started in China with Helsinki. Went Asia-Australia-NA-SA-Europe/rest of the world/africa. Was also managing Iceland. Was a lot of fun. The slightly difficult part was I was on console so I didn’t have mods to help with coaching offers (it’s in a playlist called Viking World Tour on my channel)

The way I pretty much always play career mode is use the free agent list to sign my players. It might be tedious at times, but there are gems out there, the pre-season transfer window was always the part of every season I liked the most.

A lot of these things youtubers do dont actually work for console players. They have mods to stop them being sacked whereas we get sacked despite winning every game, because we missed a press conference and morale plummets. Stupid game 😂

I like to use countries to rebuild in which you can't scout. For example: I placed Apoel in the Turkish league and only signed players from Cyprus. With dynamic potential, regens and a lot of patience i now have a full 80+ rated team with multiple 85+. Qatar is also a nice option for this as you could be the national coach as well

I personally play with strict rules about what age/overall/teams I can buy from and then have a randomizer once a month that has an event. Could be anything from selling a star youth player for failed drug test or worst case being sacked. Helps keep it fresh each month

Really good, if you want to be able to do a true Pentagon challenge though the only feasible option is probably Football Manager. Like all the other ones though

Guadalajara (chivas) was one of the best save challenges. The team only plays with Mexicans, they're poor and they're expected to win all of the seasons. You had players like the infamous free agent Alexis Vega but also many bad players like they had a 57 rated center back bro ☠️. Too bad they lost that licence

I'm thinking of doing a journeyman where I start in a 3rd-4th tier team and after 2 seasons go to a 2nd tier team, and then 2-3 years depending on how succcessful I am, to 1st divison team, and build a dynasty, or switch after 3-4 seasons

The Youth Squad Legends challenge is my favorite, when you're allowed to sign 0 real players and 2 regens per season so you rely on youth heavy

The best save I ever did was last year. I did create a club and could only sign Youth Academy players and Regens. I did 10 seasons and could’ve probably done more 🤣! If you haven’t done it yet, do it!

The way i use youth academy in carrer mode is using the same scout that was in the team for my entire save, it is realistic, easy and you still get great players, hire 3 5 star scouts is not that realistic, because just like you said, you would get the best team in the world in 3 seasons doing youth academy that way.

I think I'm onto something regarding how stupid this game is. I play FIFA22 on Legendary with some sliders but my ps4 had internet connection and I played Brentford with my "B team" and they were really hard. Then I restarted the game, this time I disabled internet connection and I was beating them 4-0.. Anyone else can feel something similar ? Or even test this out? In my CM save, Brentford is a 8th~ place team
