Good analysis. I agree with about 80%. Most significant disagreement would be Merlin. His communications are slightly more interesting than most. As well, he often pops up to encourage us, or tags along with another companion to bolster collections, i.e. he doubles down as an extra mining buddy when I'm already with one. This is very useful on the endless quest for ore. Eric is a cad and a fibber. He promised frequent design plans; that fell through fast, didn't it? He's also usually off flirting with the other characters, leaving Ariel to stalk him sneakily and creepily.
