The issue is calamity just didn't quite age well with regards rogue and stealth. It would have been far better to have 'rogue stealth' slowly generate over time and right click to expend said meter. It would fit in with whats already in the game, you would just need to work it into their armor sets. It would reward good timing and boss knowledge without being so punishing that the class is absolutely terrible.

Rogue’s whole stealth mechanic mixed with revengence mode’s adrenaline feels like calamity REALLY wants you to fight bosses in this sort of “focus on dodging attacks while building up for when the boss is hittable, and then unleash your strong attacks for huge damage” way of fighting. But the issue is that Calamity’s bosses have such obscenely bloated hp pools that not attacking for a good amount of time will make fights last upwards of 10 to 20 minutes, and they aren’t even fun at that point. Because remember, you play a video game to have fun, not to brag to other people that you did it.

honestly highly depends on the weapon. Some are just better suited for stealth strikes only while with others you’re better off spamming. Then there are moments where you should do a mixture of both or always follow your stealth strikes up with a third hit. Post ML you do so much damage though, have double stealth strikes and regenerate stealth so fast that the downtime becomes really low tbh

I have a lot more experience with the mod now, and if I were to try again, I bet it would go a lot better. But Jesus Christ, stop commenting "Skill Issue" or "Try this weapon, it works!" because both of those can change in over half a year. I've actually done a rogue playthrough. It's not that bad for pre-hardmode, it's pretty good for hardmode, but post-moonlord you can't accomplish anything. Mainly DoG. When I say that I tried every single rogue weapon from that tier, I mean that I tried EVERY SINGLE ROGUE WEAPON FROM THAT TIER. The only decent choices were absolutely shafted in later updates. It was so bad, that I farm reapers in the abyss, WHICH I NEVER DO, to get the dumbbell, and it still sucked. And to any genius out there who says "Oh, WeLl It'S bEcAuSe YoU wErEn'T uSiNg StEaLtH sTrIkEs!!!!!11!1!!", 2 things. 1, No one likes you, and 2, YES, I WAS! Rant over, based tier list.

Rouge feels like a support class for multiplayer, when your friend getting a boss aggro and dealing a consistent danage while you're staying on the ground and doing one stealth strike after one, inflicting a massive blows. But if you play solo, the boss isn't letting you stay in one place -> you're not accumulating stealth fast enough -> you're not doing stealth strikes -> spamming all your weapons and *BOOM* you're just a worse Ranger.

As a calamity player in a revengance rogue run, I don't have any comparison, BUT it did feel pretty freaking cool to take like a 10th of queen bee's HP with a single sludge splotch. Stealth strike isnt the only form of dmg, its a thing for certain times of certain bosses, except for aquatic scourge when you spam that gas cloud nuke weapon from acid rain with stealth

Stealth can be useful for bosses that get far away from you, and you always have the option of attacking normally. Stealth also helps because it decreases enemy detection. I do find that rogue is better though when paired with another class for crowd control and maybe single target damage
