idk why people hating on the phantoms. I’ve had 3 pairs of them over the years, 2 of them being the GT2 pros as I loved the first pair and just got a larger size of the same model second time around. This just proves that it is 100% down to your own preference. Im also a very wide footed person so keep that in mind while reading this and taking my opinion into consideration.

The reason why people hate it is that there’s just something plain and boring that makes people disregard the phantoms. Also another reason being Phantom GT line is a successor to the Phantom venom/vision,Hypervenoms,magista and t90s that itself plays a part. Last but not least you have to somehow blame Nike for their lack of marketing. Despite having someone high profile and world class like Kevin De Bruyne,you don’t see that much of marketing for the phantoms in comparison to the Mercurials

@@chanchaniceman those are all very good points, and I can see how the phantoms being the “middle child” leaves them seeming underwhelming compared to the mercurials or tiempos. For me that middle is exactly what I need, also being that I am wide footed, the mercurials are too narrow for me so the phantoms are just right; it all comes down to personal preference though.

@@JohnBurdsall I don’t disagree with you said and agree being the so called middle child do make people disregard the phantom line even tho I forgot to add these 2 key points. It’s not easy for any boots not even in Nike’s own catalog to match the popularity and longevity of the the mercurials. Lastly the mercuials along with the tiempos have been around for over 2 decades with the tiempo nearly 3. Personal preference do play a part as I do have 2-3 people in my Sunday league team that does wear the phantoms due to the exact same reason as love having a wide feet. Personally prefer the tiempos over almost anything and have been wearing since 2009.

I also dont really get this video, because everything is pretty much based on your foot shape (I know he mentioned it, but still). For me personally Phantom Academy have been the best shoes I had, even over Mercurial Elite, Mizuno (MIJ), or other types, like Adidas Copa, Calcio Italia...

Got the new vapor 15 pro in FG, and my first practice, tripped because of the aggressive stud pattern. hands down the most comfortable boot I've had though, coming from the predator 18.3.

Don’t forget the CTR360. The Phantom GT just isn’t very exciting or anything overly specialized. It’s an overtly generic boot by Nike standards.

I think how we rate boots is heavily based on nostalgia, for example Ii tried the magistas and Magistas X as well as the phantom venoms, even though the phantom venoms are better all round boots in my opinion, I had some of my best moments in both Magistas, so I rank them on top.

I’ve had my Mercurial Superfly 9’s for the better part of a week and I absolutely love them. They are SO comfortable and that Air Zoom tech really does help with shin splints and foot strains. It’s still a great bare foot feel and not as aggressive traction as the past but that saves the ankles a bit Absolutely zero issue with blisters either which I did with the previous generation. 10/10 would recommend the investment 👌🏼👌🏼

My guess is maybe due to the fact there’s a lot of people who are either from football academies or people who basically want to wear something black and classy so there’s a big demand for it. Also blackout boots like the Nike’s academy pack sells out quite quickly so it’s better for the brands to keep releasing more to meet the supplies along with making quick easy money

I’m the same. Loved my 13s. I’ve read that the Vapor 15 is very close if not the same as the 13. After the changes to the upper for the Vapor 14, they seem to have reverted back. Just in case you can’t find 13s, the 15s seem a worthy replacement

Mate there was a time when I literally wore f50 adizeros while I was playing play as a defensive midfielder and center back. Boots by positions doesn’t mean anything. Also just for a bit of a inspiration,my team’s goalie would wear Nike mercurial vapors so you don’t have to worry. Just war what you find comfortable and stick with it

Despite this video I went with the gt 2 over tiempo and the mecurial. I'm 9.5 and the gt 2 just didn't feel right one my foot.
