It's great to have someone who actually reviews retro sports games. I don't blame retro channels that skip over the sports games if it's not their thing - no value in that. But John is clearly a fan who can make some solid recommendations for the genre.

There are many sports games that have value and are fun today. The problem especially in the 16 bit era was that there were so many sports games being made. The ranking videos have made me go through and try to objectively look at these games. I have found a few this way that I respect even more now.

Great video (I look forward to these ranking videos every week). Delighted to see True Lies get some love - it’s a great game and it’s definitely underrated. The first time I played it, I was expecting a poor movie tie-in, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a very well-crafted overhead run-and-gun. Excellent controls, cool weapons, and big stages. In fact, the game is huge (even though I’ve kept coming back to it over the last 20 years, I still haven’t completed it!).
