Can not fathom how you'd put Unity at the bottom. It had its issues and it absolutely underwhelmed me during my first playthough, but it's free running is second to none, the voice acting is incredible, and it is a remarkably pretty game!

Almost the same, my only question; do you consider all of Ezio's games as 2, as I do? If you don't, then I prefer Brotherhood, but without the story context of the previous title, it does fall flat, but as should all sequels. What's your hopeful time period to dive into, mines Thirty Years War. Pike and Shot, one of the worst war in human history, a religious struggle that lead to secularism ( great way to show how both factions left the more religious view). It could show the Templars becoming the "power behind the thrones" and the Assassins to become the shadows.

@@BabyKobeeee what was the tower defense in Brotherhood? The towers needed to be captured, to gain access to the areas shops and income, and allowed the recruitment of another Assissin recruit. The hype is mostly, as least for me, because the smoother game play, and the closure of the primary story (after all the Pope survived the first). Now the Auditory story made more sense, if you got the Sony version of AC2, which is annoying

If you take out the performance issues, Unity is the perfect Assassins Creed game in my opinion. Assassinations feel weighty and real, with more options for each mission than ever before. Exploring the city is the best its ever been due to both a very well fleshed out parkour system and the most beautifully crafted world in the series. Combat feels risky and dangerous. A wide range of customization options. Very well told story Some of my favorite side content in the series as well. If that game would have gotten 1 extra year of development, we would still be talking about its brilliance today and comparing every other entry to it, imo

While it may not be the best Assassin's Creed game, my personal favorite Assassin's Creed is Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. I love the 18th century Victorian setting and the fact that you have two player characters to choose from in the form of Jacob and Evie Frye. Plus the Jack the Ripper DLC was absolutely phenomenal, getting to play as Jack the Ripper was an amazing experience.

For me it’s one of my least favourite. I’m from the U.K. so it should be been much more interesting for me but I just found it forgettable and I just didn’t care for the setting or the characters. Plus it was just gloomy and dark (I know that’s accurate to the setting) but that just appeal to me. I can appreciate they done something different though and changed combat, introduced new mechanics etc so it’s not all bad

Jack the ripper ruined it. No Jacob was a poor choice. Evie has a cardboard personality. The rooks all of a sudden went from freedom fighters to woman killers? What kinda fool wrote that dlc. They were certainly a misandrist in any case. The dlc added nothing new either. Not even a new map. The dlc sucked in all regards. Only popular with femenists and evies fans. The base game was actually great tho. Sadly much of Jacob's story was harmed by his role as protagonist being reduced. Was it so much for one of the lead writers from the frist game all the way to syndicate, to be able ti write a stort about his own demographic, as a gay man? According to ubisoft Jacobs had sexuality had to be hidden in trailers, and "more subtle" in the actual game, so that it didn't upset homophobic buyers. On top of this, to add insult to injury, ubisoft higrer ups forced the team to change evie who was originally the games main villain (she was based on the mentor from AC1, and would reveal her true plans at the end of the game) into a "twin protagonist." Hence evie had an awful personality and lacked depth compared to Jacob. Because she was a late add on. And now we have liers at ubisoft pretending this story was the other way around. What a joke.

I replayed it with the remastered edition and my opinion cooled off somewhat. I loved it the first time through, and it’s still really good, but it just doesn’t do enough to innovate. It plays it too safe after Black Flag. Amazing story too but his first mate gets pretty grating after not too long.

As a hardcore AC fan. I get that the franchise has gone off Ona tangent. However. You have to appreciate the quality of these newer games. AC odyssey was bloody brilliant. From the beautiful graphics. To the awesome gameplay. To the improved combat from origins. The list goes on. There’s no game at all available in the market that takes you back to history the way AC does. And there’s always chances for its franchise to come back towards what the game did best back in the day. I personally think odyssey was way better than origins. The combat in origins was horrendous. Odyssey was what origins should have been.

It's just a list. They might have put it at the bottom to get more comments. I really loved a lot of games that reviewed poorly and didn't like many games that are cult classics now. I like all Assassin's Creed games. I wish every Assassin's Creed game had Unity's movement, Black Flag's sea battles and Ezio story. It doesn't change the fact that all AC games were great. People who used to love AC have gotten older and don't have enough time to play. Marketing, these types of videos and controversial headlines have changed our outlook on good games. We either want something incredible, multiplayer or an extremely unique indie title. I do agree that the new games shouldn't be called Assassin's Creed. If they want to, at least make the stealth better in the game. They have removed way too many things that they developed for their older games. Overall, we need to stop comparing AC games to Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3, God of War etc. Rockstar, CD Project Red, Santa Monica and others don't make several franchises end multiple games every couple of years. AC gave us an amazing representation of Greece and Egypt. Enjoy it because no other company will attempt it, even if they do, it'll be once in 5-10 years.

Syndicate has been my favourite since it came out. I love the Twins! I played Unity after the bug fixes so I had a fairly smooth gameplay overall so I would have ranked it higher for sure. Chronicles is definitely the worst. I didn't even go through all of it I hated every second I played of that game. I loved the settings IF they had been stand alone traditional games. HUGE waste of potential. I want AC in china, India and Russia, that would be amazing and could expand the AC universe in new ways!

Can't really see why he is forgettable though considering the story and the way they behave are identical in terms of writing. Odyssey and Black Flag are the best by far. Origins should never be so high on a list, unless its a list of the most BORING games. Odyssey has the most fun/ interesting character in Kassandra, plus is visually the most stunning, as well as has the smoothest gameplay. Black Flag takes 2nd place because Kenway isnt quite as interesting as Kassandra, plus the visuals arent as stunning (Black Flag should be remastered) but its still insanely fun stomping around in the age of pirates.

Between the setting, mystery side missions, and black box missions, it’s all the best AC ideas come together. It’s too bad the launch was so poor. The ancient trilogy, while ok in their own right, has never felt quite like a a true AC game. I could live with Origins but Odyssey and Valhalla just felt like fantasy stories that were AC in name only. I’m really hoping Mirage recaptured the magic of everything before!!

Odyssey is unmatched in open beautiful game, the water is aqua blue and clear to swim under to hunt treasures, doing side quests to help people, sleep with people, wearing warrior gear showing muscle body.

Yes the RPG experience was also much better than origins or Valhalla imo. Searching for better gear and spending coins to upgrade it or apply buffs felt worthwhile, Valhalla was really disappointing in how the gear system went backwards to then I just didn’t care what weapon I was using I’d just change it up for variety or for better stats but it didn’t feel as rewarding. Odysseys is one of if not the most vibrant colour schemes of all the games and the atmosphere on the different islands or cities feels different where it’s not just copy paste. The different areas also differed due to events in the game or historical events too, like how you could compete in Olympic events. Kassandra is a great character too her lines and delivery was great. The side characters and historical figures where interesting. Then you’ve got the backdrop of the peloponessian war going on so you can fight in battles and also see which areas are Athenian or Spartan controlled. One of my favourite games in the series, I played it over lockdown and really got into it at that times so maybe I’m looking back it more fondly than some others.

Odyssey is great. I played a lot of it over the lockdown maybe my nostalgia of that time and my focus on it affected that but I thought it was great certainly better than origins imo. Great characters, great setting, better RPG experience. I played a lot of Valhalla mainly just to complete the story not because it was overly engaging and have to say it’s a fraction of what Odyssey is. The choices in it don’t matter, gear is kinda pointless, money is pointless, the abilities feel toned down, story is so long and repetitive, everywhere just looks and feels the same. The DLCs are alright and with the added content they added. The Valhalla area and story is interesting and something different.

Then I tried AC Unity and only got through the DLC. Played Origins beat it and it was okay. Then I tried Valhalla did not get far. So yea Odyssey is my favorite none AC game.

Brotherhood was my fave. Then origins. I feel origins doesn’t get the love it does deserve. I actually HATED black flag. Worst hands down to me.

I have too many gripes with this list. Valhalla being far too high, Unity should only be low in terms of the bugginess at launch, but high disregarding those, AC3 is uncharacteristically low.

I only played through as Kassandra and thought she did a great job and generally a lot of people consider her voice actor to be more engaging. I like that you get a choice and it’s a cool option if you want to replay it to have a different character to look at and to listen to their lines and see how it differs so it’s a more replay able that way

What you are saying aplies quite well in the movie industry but this is gaming and my opinion is that If I want to immerse the most I am picking the male character 100 out of 100 times.. I actually picked Kasandra on my 2nd playthorugh and after I saw how the armor looks on her shoulders.. I literally deleted my save and started again with Alexios.. The way she walks around.. she is a damn woman.. Lines and voice is of course better but that is not going to make me play as woman for so many hours.. Killing and destroying everything you see in these games.. magic powers and skills - I do not thing anything (other than the bow maybe) suited Kassandra as much as it did Alexios

I just last night completed Odyssey, which is the second game in the series I have played and the only one ive completed and genuinely loved it. I finished the main storyline in about 20 hours over the course of 4 days and actually couldnt stop playing. Loss of sleep and all. Loved it.

Unity by far supersedes Liberation, Valhalla, Odyssey, Syndicate and Rogue, this should be a top 7 or 8 game in the series, using the it was buggy at launch debate is tried and dusted, I played it without patches for a month after release and had no issues, this was on xbox as well.

Odyssey & Origins are both beautiful, the gameplay system was just better in Odyssey, more fun to do. Origins is more serious story related and short game, Odyssey is more open minded, long game and charming.

Assassins Creed Odyssey is just such a gem. If you want a game to just take you away for hours upon hours then give it a shot. I have 120 hours in Witcher 3 but I have over 700 hours in Odyssey

Unity is not the worst game. It was a buggy mess at release but most bugs have been fixed. Its gameplay is one of the best in the franchise. Parkour is undoubtedly the best they've made. While the story is lacking and arnos character was wasted it makes up for it in scenery and gameplay. All these things considered it is a crime that you rated it below odyssey which isn't even a god damn AC game.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood was my first AC game before I went and played 2 and the first one. It will always be my favorite AC game, period. AC4 is my second favorite and it came damn close to being my number 1.

Brotherhood is like an upgraded version of 2 but it's always hard to beat the original. Personally I liked seeing the heart of the Renaissance era in Florence and Venice slightly better then Rome. But I'd agree Brotherhood had the better gameplay.

The main entries I haven't played are Unity, Rogue, Syndicate, and Origins. I'm pretty hype for Mirage, but if I have any gripe it's that they took a story driven franchise and turned it in to third person historical Far Cry. I hope they bring it back to form with Mirage, and make niche off-shoots like Far Cry Primal is to the rest of the series. Like a fantasy AC set just before the Younger Dryas extinction event and the game set in a thriving pre-history Atlantean civilization.

Im happy with Orgins being so high on the list. I saw the trailers and I first thought it was gonan be a stupid game as how everything changed. A few years go by and I get it on sale and boom instant connection. I played it for hours and enjoyed all of it. The voice actor was great and we could feel the pain in scenes. A great game and definitely my favorite after AC 2

The problem with Assassin's Creed is gamer fatigue; it's not that the games were bad themselves (many would have been perfectly fine standalone games), but just that they kept on releasing so many. People hadn't even heard of one game and started downloading and playing it, when lo and behold, Ubisoft has already released 3 more games. A lot of people think that they spent too little time on each game and somehow created a completely new one (in less than 12 months) every year. This is not true. Different studios worked on different games simultaneously and exchanged information and features between themselves. As an example AC Unity, which was criticised for being the worst ever optimised AC game, was actually in development for over 5 years when it was released. It was already in development when AC Brotherhood was released. Yet even though it took so long, the result was an absolute mess. The newer AC games (Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla) were perfectly playable games, dare I say, EXCELLENT games in their own right. So much effort and love was put into each one, it seems a waste to release each one just one year after the other. Every new game doesn't magically make the old one worse, but people are like that - they always want the newest and best of everything because they assume it's better. Sort of like numbered games like Fifa or WWE or NBA. FIFA 22 could be an excellent game that was painstakingly developed, but as soon as FIFA 23 comes out, everyone forgets about it and rushes to get the newest game. I can already guess what the new Assassin's Creed (AC Mirage) is going to look like.

Personally I rank AC2 as the best! It’s the one I’ve replayed most often and to me has comfortably the best story line, best side characters, best settings and best version of the best character: cocky young Ezio 🙌🏼
