My boy Prince Mush at #1 is a very pleasent placement. One of my personal favourite bosses alongside Doopliss, Cortez and Bonetail. In fact, I'll go ahead and say that the characters I just listed are some of my favourite characters from Paper Mario EVER. Their music is perfect (especially in the remake) their personalities are awesome (even Bonetail, she's just terrifying); and their designs are absolutely peak (Cortez in battle mode is actually epic, and Doopliss is such a silly goober, I love them both).

the only other unique thing bout Red Bones fight is its one of the first of the few spots in ttyd/ttyd's remake where you can get a free 100 star points, only provided the dull bones give at least 1 star point, and you let the red bones revive with 5 hp everytime, its more than worth. 🤔 the others being Dark Bones in ch. 8 provided you kill the dry bones w/Fire, and the last being Green/Forest Fuzzies in ch. 3/5(mostly ch. 3 as that's the place you'd get those 100 star points by letting them multiply, provided they give at least 1 star point when defeated)

Prince Mush is actually miniboss unlocked by completing Jolene’s “Help Wanted!” Trouble. I agree his Boss Fight is crazy good!

You never actually have to super guard against Prince Mush. You just have to defeat him before he goes into his "Super Saiyan" phase. This is most easily done with the following items, badges, and moves: Quick Change, Power Plus P X3, P-Up/D-Down P, Charge P, Power Rush P, Mega Rush P, Double Dip, Point Swap, Power Punch, and Power Lift. You can defeat Mush with either Yoshi or Goombella in one turn and just tanking his attacks with the massive amount of partner HP at your disposal. And if you want to be super safe you can bring a few boo sheets and life shrooms or defend with Shell Shield should you get low with Mario.

My favorite was the Smorgs battle. Capped off my favorite chapter in the game, mysterious origins (although some would call this boss random, there is cut lore for them coming after Mario), a kickass theme that got even better in the remake and gave the fight a real sense of tension and urgency, and an interesting fight to boot. The remake even gave the fight some unnecessary but welcome details like the boss falling onto the stage and making the audience bounce in their seats at the beginning. Probably not the most popular choice considering all of the great boss battles in the game, but I will die on this hill.

I'm very mixed on the final boss fight. The shadow queen is a cool villain and it gives the game a great climax story wise, but the fight itself gets dragged out for way too long. I lost to her the first time and I wasn't willing to spend ten minutes doing cutscenes and doing turns that do no damage as many times I needed to beat her.

Eh... Shadow Queen definitely is intimidating, but I wouldn't say she's all that interesting of a villain; same with Grodus, as they're both just evil because the plot demands them be evil.

Unpopular opinion but the Shadow Queen is still my favorite Paper Mario boss and my favorite Paper Mario character, shes a very fairly difficult boss battle, her design and music is my favorite in the series, her lore really helps, and she has alot of buildup, and she is one of the most threatening mario villains in the franchise. She has so many cool attacks, and i like her more than Dimentio, Count Bleck and Prince Mush.

For the rawk hawk boss you can also use the egg attack from yoshi after you level him up because i used that so i know it

IMO Doopliss and the shadow queen are my #1-2 Doopliss has a very goofy gimmick with a funny theme (the bell hits hard) and the shadow queen is the perfect way to end a paper Mario game, like everything is perfect and the crystal star segment is kinda emotional

I didn’t even count red bones and dark bones as a boss, it kind of just seems like a powerful enemy encounter to me. Same thing with all of the glitz pit battles (except for rawk hawk and prince mush)

The fun thing about grubba is that if you use the double damage badge, the fight becomes one of the hardest in the game. His attacks will deal so much damage to you at that point in the game, it almost borders unfair. His defensive and evasive buffs also make him a nightmare to predict

tbh they made grodus weaker than they should have, probably because they put Bowser right after him, back to back with no level up scumming this fight, you'll have a hard time winning both fights, bowser and kammy boast with a total of 120hp, which is almost final boss like. Well Bonetail has the most base health, but the shadowqueen heals 70-149 hp during phases, so technically she boasts with 220-299HP which can not be steamrolled over and win first turn. The forbidden moves Grubba is refering too is his mild power lift capabillities. He can buff his defense, can become dodgy, use 2 moves per turn and when buffed he can dish out some hefty damage. Even though Chapter 4 enemies do much more damage than him if they get to attack For me Doopliss is my #1 the only gripe I have on him is the fact that the devs did not give him all of mario's abillities and badges (or an assemble of badges that can be found till that time, like happy heart, lucky start and a few attack badges, maybe a last stand and stuff) or use specials, of course he'd be bad at the action commannds so he'd only get mid results

You can cheese Prince Mush with the Shell. Despite having like 8 HP at max, it'll tank all of his attacks on that same turn.

Or spam Koopa shell protection on Mario and have the partner do the super guarding in the front. Mush could do 1000 damage, still doesn't kill Mario with a shell.

I like this list for the most part; Prince Mush #1 is the best. Finally, TTYD gets a superboss that not only feels like a spiritual successor to The Master, but is an improvement as well. I am also glad Shadow Queen is 2nd place with Cortez and Rawk Hawk both reaching top 5. Smorg getting lots of love is also a W for me. But it honestly stings that Grodus got so low on the list, and I honestly found Whacka to be a disappointment. While Bonetail wasn't top tier by any means, he at least provided better challenge than Whacka. Then again, I can basically sneeze every boss in the game by having 12 Power Plus Badges and using Chet Rippo to lower Mario's max HP down to 5. So that I could Power Bounce every boss in the game. But even then, even if someone invested basically nothing but HP, Whacka could be beaten by simply super guarding all his Bumps back at him. But a great list none of the less.
