hi everyone💜 before anyone asks me my opinion on any recent "controversy," i want to clarify that i started making this video 3 weeks ago and no amount of defamatory news, hate trains or opinions from kpop stans is going to stop me from uploading fun bts videos. please realize that i create this channel's content during my free time and i cannot quickly make a video on something that happened 1 or 2 days ago. this is not TikTok. i write, re-write, record a voiceover, edit the voiceover, find b-roll, and edit +20 minute videos myself. if I make a video about anything happening right now, you won't see it until 2-3 weeks from now, and by that time, a member will release music, something more interesting will happen, and the interest will disappear. it's happened to me before. just look at my MHJ video, i uploaded it a month after everything happened, and i only decided to actually share it with you because it remained a relevant topic. with that said, i hope you enjoy this video. i love making these random rankings and i'm really excited to see this type of content from bts again. i LOVE their award show performances and i'm really excited for their comeback award show appearances!

The DNA performance at AMA's was where I first discovered BTS I was blown away by their voices, the dancing and the song. After that I had to know more and delved into their back catalogue, Loved them ever since so proud of them as performers and as such positive role models in the world speaking about difficult topics and being so open about their own struggles thanx for doing this 💜

Their American performances are good, but too tame. ON at Union Station and Butter at the Grammy's are the best so far, but I want to see the epicness we know BTS can bring. Dionysus at the Billbords would have shattered Westerners' brains.

Oh my god yes! Dionysus is so majestic even when they only perform it on korean music shows like mcountdown. I still watch it from time to time. There are so many of their B-sides songs that I wished they performed on the award show but I can only dream and imagine about it for now.

I can say that the camerawork and audio broadcasting in earlier shows really took a couple of their performances further down in the rankings than they probably deserve to be for me. The awards shows just weren't ready for BTS back then.

I'd just like to add that during the pandemic, the pre-filmed stages in South Korea happened when BTS were appointed tourism ambassadors and made use of many tourism locations in SK. Their team is excellent at integrating sponsorships into their stages so the tourism ambassadorship could've have come at a better time, when everyone is sitting at home anyways so these locations would be relatively empty. Otherwise they would have had to dress the same stage up multiple times a week to film these performances 🤭😬 Locations like, Incheon Airport, Blue House and Lotte Tower gave the performances more energy and made us feel like we were "outside" too, enjoying the lights of these venues. And to this day, I think armys reffer to some of these locations as "this place was in a BTS performance" and want to go to SK to see them in person. Mission accomplished as tourism ambassadors, I suppose 😂

The 2022 Grammy Award performance was my favorite. I agree that the Grammy used them to get viewership by having them perform so late. I don't watch The Grammys. However, I watched that night. Only just to see BTS. They may not have won the award. However, they stole the show.

As always, you never miss 👏🏽 I didn't agree with all of the rankings, but it definitely made sense when you explained it. Butter at the 2022 Grammys deserves first place!! However, maybe because I joined the fandom in late 2017 (DNA era) and fake love was my first comeback, but the 2017 amas and 2018 bbmas performances hold a special place in my heart. Those are probably one of my two favorite American show performances, alongside BWL on SNL lol. Time to go back and rewatch them all!

I love your rankings and your videos, it's always either really informative, or really fun to watch! Interestingly when I started, i literally googled "why is BTS so popular", and it brought me to an article - fairly unbiased and well written by a respected journalism site. In the article, there was a line that said something like, they had such a huge fan base that by the time of their American TV debut - which was the DNA performance at the 2017 AMA, the fan chants were deafening. I got curious, so that's what I searched for on youtube - and that's actually the very first BTS performance that I've ever seen. And from then on, it's down the rabbit hole into Boraland for me! 😄

Thank you for this video! Definitely 2022 Grammy "Butter" is tops, especially for ARMY who know the behind the scenes issues they had to overcome. It was high-impact, innovative and so good looking. I only wish American award shows will learn to give BTS free rein in their performances but maybe they never will because western performances will look blah in comparison. I mean, imagine if American audiences witnessed their 2016 MAMA performance live! Not even going to mention the later years which were even more spectacular. I have never been interested in any award show, not even the Oscars (for movies, i know, but for you to have reference and understand my comment). Never been interested although i have loved music all my life. Now since i know BTS, i am interested, but only because of them. Let's wait, cheer and vote for them... As usual, great analysis. And I totally agree that the 2022 Grammy performance of Butter is #1. IIRC, the 2018 BBMA performance of Fake Love was the first performance EVER of the song, and the camerawork is so disappointing. For example, they cut to the audience instead of showing when JK mirrors J-Hope, or when JK typically lifts his shirt. I suppose in the future, you'll rank BTS performances on American talk shows?

Hi Bora Hope I am addressing you by the right name. First of all "THANK YOU" for taking out the time to spend to compile and make this video which proved to me one thing "The Western Award Show are way way behind in terms of production and presentation of Live performing artist in Comparison to Asian Award Shows." That aside the other thing is that most of the team performances (will not say Boy band as BTS are more than that) of Western artist are more so like only the vocal presentation, they hardly have choreo and theme like BTS. That is why BTS performances in such Western Award Shows will always stand out. And also the dedication level of every member cannot be compared. Can you do one such compilation of the Stage dominance and great production of BTS in Asian Award shows?? Sorry if I am asking too much.. Thank you again...

11:27 If you recall, this was their first ever performance after C*vid quarantine restrictions. So I was glad to see the performance be one where they could just take in the audience and get reacquainted with the voices and cheers. This was my first award show after literally becoming ARMY a month before. It was amazing and solidified “This is why I love them!” They were everything in real time who I had gotten to know only through KZbin videos and old performances.

That 2017 DNA performance is forever *iconic* to me because it's what introduced me officially to BTS. The screams and excitement from the crowd simply blew my mind! It was highly contagious and got me super pumped as well 😅 ohh my god I'll NEVER forget that show. Also JK's BAWDY in that pink silk suit in the first video - wheww 🥵 You can literally see the muscle tone in his thighs! Thanks for this video Bora, love your work as always 💜
