I always consider the campaign to be the most important part of a CoD, mainly because it has the purpose to teach you the mechanics of the game, to prepare you for multiplayer and 3rd mode, and to set the aura and tone of the game. The campaign is the soul of every CoD, and the rest of the modes depend of it.
