Palkia’s origin form is reminiscent of a centaur from Greek mythology whereas Dialga’s origin form is reminiscent of a rigid stone pillar. Both have elements that allude to Arceus (the ring around their abdomen, the shape of Dialga’s legs, etc.).

Maybe that's what the Pokémon creator intended to do as Gen 2 and Gen 4 do intertwine with each other. Red Gyarados and lakes (coincidence as much) What about version names. Gold, Silver, & Crystal Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum Shouldn't this be the third version be switched as Gold, Silver, & Platinum while Diamond, Pearl, & Crystal? Crystal isn't a metal alloy and Platinum isn't a a type of jewels/ gems(tones).
