I always felt that they were a good fight, in never felt unfair for me, the bad thing is the frigid outskirts. If there was a bonfire right before the fog wall this boss would be more memorable

Eh, they aren't bad really. Its only a gank half way into killing Lud and while their boss weapons aren't the best you'll want them for cosplay purposes and really the truly awful part is the area itself, not the actual boss. This is equally true for bosses like Sir Alonne: absolutely dreadful area, but a very solid boss fight overall.

I don't like area denial that Quelaag has with the lava spit and exploding aoe. Najka have more variety for example burrowing, toxic grab, spell casting attacks but it is too easy since the arena elevation in uneven.

Despite how much people complain about DS2 bosses being “Dudes in armor” they tend to be the better fights. It helps that you’re also not fighting the camera against them. And can we talk about how boss arena interactions have been lost in the series.

Dark Souls 2 on average has the worst boss quality in the series (You can at least excuse Demon's for its experimental nature). The vast majority of them are either "roll/circle strafe around the boss" or bad ganks. The camera on fights like the and Giants and the Royal Rat Authourity is just as bad as in the other games. Most of the arenas of this game are extremely uninteresting as well. There are like 4/5 bosses with an interesting arena.

Wow, it's rare for me to find a tier list that i agree with basically 95%! Lud and Zallen, tho, I'd gotta put in D tier. They're not as BORING as Covetous Demon, they have many different attacks, so I can't put them in F. But it feels like the duo-aspect wasn't balanced well. The second cat jumps down WAY too soon; the tigers' aggro AI wasn't tuned to stand back and wait enough to let a solo player be confident in focusing on just one at a time (and all Souls games are at their best in 1v1 combat), and the NPC summons are much too low on HP and attack and self-preservation to really help draw aggro. To say nothing of the runback which is, imo, just too long. Cut the area size in half, or even a third. Heck, the runback to the gank fight is probably a quarter of this. Move the bonfire closer to the boss fog, fewer invisibly spawning reindeer, change the snowstorm timing, etc, etc, it's been said before. Most overhaul mods DO put the bonfire closer, at the very least! I don't hate duo-bosses on principle, this one in particular is tough because the tiger models ARE SO LARGE, I can't keep them both in my line of sight on screen! Not so in the twin-dragonriders or Throne Watcher and Defender fight, THOSE guys are a sensible size. Huh, maybe the LNZ fight would be more manageable if the cats were SMALLER!

I personally wouldn't have Rat Vanguard below Authority. Vanguard at least embodies what rats are: numerous, annoying, and with the right equipment easy to deal with. You get to basically cosplay as an exterminator so its pretty fun compared to the dung pile that is Authority.

Burnt Ivory King Sir Alonne Fume Knight Darklurker Looking Glass Knight Velstadt Sinh the Slumbering Dragon Aged Smelter Demon Aava, King's Pet Ruin Sentinels Demon of Song Mytha, the Baneful Queen The Pursuer The Lost Sinner Flexile Sentry These are my favorite bosses. I'm disappointed with the DS2 bosses, but these are the bosses that continue to entertain me.
