Phantom is one of my all time favorite Corps to watch and listen to. I’ve been a fan of Drum Corp since the mid 70’s, watching “Drums Along The Rockies” and waiting for the championship broadcasts over my local PBS channel before ESPN and the theaters ever heard of DCI. I would always root for Phantom Regime to knock off the Blue Devils, or whoever else was leading going into finals night. So many 2nd place finishes and only two DCI championships. This year’s show was great because I remember the 2003 show with the same fantastic music. The year Phantom won for Spartacus, I was at a college football game a week after DCI finals. I was talking to one of the horn players from the home team who had just returned from California from the Blue Devils. He said they were robbed by the judges. Just by years of watching and listening, I can tell you what is a good performance, or a great one. But Phantom Regime has put together some fantastic programs over the years, and Spartacus had it all. Thank you for being a part of this storied and great Corp.

As someone who participated in the Blue Devils video in 2021, I totally agree. We didn't know exactly what we were making over the time we had (three days ). We played our hearts out with more emotion than imaginable. (First BD group in person in over 13 months). I enjoyed the project for sure. It was a great experience working with everyone and playing with a non-highschool band again. I am a bit disappointed with the video... I believe it was majorly focused to the editing and the visual side of things rather than the musical aspect. Overall I'm extremely proud and happy with the result. The few of my fellow marchers who did complain were more upset about the 2021 Roster being broken, and the fact that individual members weren't credited. *SCV gave credits* I played Euphonium and I've got bits of the show music and our B-Flat Tuning Warm-up from 2021 on my channel. I cannot argue with USMC at #1. They dominate every year. Of the 16-21 year olds, Blue Knights were absolutely the best hornline. From the third row, they had the best tone quality, intonation, dynamic control, and overall musicality. The music was complex, interesting, and good ol' drum corps. And you can't beat 28 euphoniums.

Hey EMC! I was one of the mellophone players (and 4 year age out) that was a part of the Blue Devils "Other Worlds" video. The BDX 2021 camp was extremely fun, and more about the experience we had during our camp, rather than the video only. We had age outs from 2020-2021, current members of the corps, and completely new members participate in the camp and in the video. It was a very organic way to "pass the torch" along to the next set of Blue Devils without participating in a full season. We also choreographed, rehearsed, and performed the music/visuals for the video in about 3 days total. Although a normal-ish season would've been *sick*, it was still so worth it. Can't wait to see what happens in 2022!

Hi! I played trumpet in the BD video, we did a 3-day intensive camp for putting together the music, choreography, and filming. It was also a callback audition camp for those who participated in the online BD Academy in the spring. We didn’t know what the final video was going to look like, but we did know it would be a performance/marketing campaign, so all we could do was trust the designers and editors. I personally didn’t expect such heavy editing, but I liked it because it was experimental and colorful. However I do wish cast members (vets and callback auditionees) got credits for being in it. Regardless, it was a super fun experience. As a bonus-COVID ageout, I’m just thankful we all got to be together again after over a year since the last in-person camp.

I’m actually a Junior in high school, but one of my seniors, Nemo Bausha, marched with the Blue knights this year. Safe to say during band camp everyone went completely wild when we saw him perform.

EMCproductions at 200K subs can you PLEASE make a marching concert bass drum. If you made gong high hats, marching low toms, and extreme tenors, then you can make a marching concert bass drum. If you can, also do marching concert snare. If not then stick with bass drum. It would make me happy if you will please 🥺🥺

EMC is so likeable, and so Napoleon Dynamite, anything he says people will agree with him. This video is a perfect example of the syndrome of "toxic positivity" in drum corps where every show is wonderful and no one has any constructive criticism, whatsoever. Maybe make sure you know what the subject matter of the show is before you rate it?

Eric has a video where he interviewed a former Cadet who works for Flo Marching and they give him permission to do this.

Santa Clara Vanguard member here. I'm glad you enjoyed our show (and put us in top 12)! The logistics of creating our production was very complicated, brass got music all the way back in March and we each had to record our individual parts so the editing team could mix it. We learned our choreo through Zoom for about a month before showing up to either a California or Texas camp for filming. Percussion had their parts recorded together at the Texas camp. Most of everyone who was in the show were SCV/SCVC members contracted for 2020, and a few had marched in the relatively recent past or were called in from UNT's percussion studio. The filming experience was definitely unique, lots of hurry up/wait and also getting in and out of uniform for rehearsal/filming. There were also many sections of the show that I performed in that didn't make the final cut, but everyone contributed to the music! Overall it was a very cool thing to be a part of, and I'm surprised you didn't talk about the snare and/or tenor feature, which was probably one of the best drum breaks I've ever heard.
