As someone who has minimal memory of my experience with OG Dead Island it’s incredible to see the vast downgrades that the Definitive Edition had, especially with how lame the weapon mods are (a bat just being on fire lol). I also appreciate your ranking of DL1 over the years instead of judging it as a singular instance. And to round it off with a mini review of Dead Island 2 as I’ve been waiting to hear what you think of it!

I am so happy that you are I think the only guy who described DL2 positively, despite how it looks like right now. Most players and youtubers are critisizing DL2 so harshly and they are constantly unhappy what Techland is adding and working. I am so glad for that. Anyway, great video.

TL has only themselves to blame for that. I agree the game is now, but they over promised, delayed like crazy, and still underdelivered. There are still major things of the game that will never be improved (story, map redundancy). And now with increased monetization and grinding with this game and the sellout to tencent, people have legit gripes with them and the handling of this game. I feel bad for the actual dev team as they are doing their best, this game/company debacle is most certainly due to the management decisions and interference.

I was in community but when I have seen how whinny bitches they are, how many times demands of adding guns (shut the fuck up about those guns for god sake) and how toxic they are, I just have left community. I just couldn't bare this. Not only that, when there was a storm that Tencent bought Techland, I was asking them why they are mad. But no, no explaination that was written professionally. So yeah, it's absurd and it's tiresome.

@@dragons_red Yeah. I am dissapointed too but truth to be told, I've had my expectations low so I am slighty dissapointed. It's so sad that community is so toxic toward Techland because I believe they are doing their best to make DL2 a great game. I like this game and playing with friends is awesome. It just pains me how badly is received and being received from toxic players. No surprise politicians are blaming us for violance with is BS.

Fr tho dl2 is actually a fun game it can be buggy yeah but it's still fun it deserves some love honestly especially by the fans since nearly all of them won't even give it a single glare and still hate on it it's nice to see some ppl actually liking this game for once even I didn't like this game when it came out I didn't have it but I saw enough to say that it was bad but after all the updates it's actually fun and spent hours playing the game DL1 and 2 are definitely one of my favourite games

There is a new glitch in dying light two where it’s always morning, but no night time night time is morning you can see everything well so the best glitch for people who hate night but I don’t know how that happened. I was trying to get the sawblade blueprint that is a dev weapon and the quest was welcome aboard, but you don’t do it and that’s what happened it’s morning but it’s night😂

"curve balls" are the biggest problem with "dead island 2" The cool down should be quicker, and there should be a quicker way to change them. I constantly had to hit start to change it which would take me out of the combat. Stupid!

To be fair the story isn’t the focus of the game. Doesn’t change the fact that it was cut way to abrupt through. Looking past that dl2 has more glaring issues and while the game has gotten better, waiting for constant updates to fix a game is unacceptable. Even from a gameplay standpoint dl2 had a lot of questionable gameplay mechanics. Would personally prefer a more simplistic game that isn’t as grindy.

Dead island 2 was my once better than dying light 2 but as of today with the night time and combat updates there’s just no question. Dying light 2s combat feels closer to the original dead island than dead island 2 does. Add that to the movement freedom and…. Winner

bad blood had so much potential, i absolutely loved it, techland fumbled the bag hard. They claimed it would go f2p but never truly did, well after the game pretty much died they gave it to people who own DL1 but way too late to save the game.

The definitive editions felt worse (reduced gun models as one example) Edity Edit : 2 AM HG is not the best at saying their thoughts ; Moreless I just feel the definitive edition had SEVERAL things I was not a big fan of ranging from the basic (the chests' respawn speed ) to them being lazy with the modifications & gun models using pretty much 1 for 1 Dying Light1's guns (when in the OG you had SEVERAL various looks such as rifles with a mix of AK & AR-15/M4 styled parts)

24:03 - did you finish Dying Light 2 Stay Human? It has the unfinished feeling as well. And if you read Sneed's document on cut content, you'll understand why. They just cut the story halfway through. They messed up story as well. Actually, you can just re-watch the gameplay demo from E3, and after this the ending of retail version of the game will be feeling forced, just like it is.

I think Dying Light 2 Stay Human is a B tier because of all the lost potential. Maybe if Techland devs restore cut story bits (an entire second half actually) and map regions (at least Elyseum and The Citadel), they'll get a chance to be put in higher tiers. But it won't happen, so they are doomed to have a ceiling of an A rank. Gameplay is good and getting better in updates (though I would like to see more tweaks to the infected, humans and their behaviours), but the half-baked shape of the story ruins the whole picture. And Bloody Ties is the worst "story" DLC ever!!!

Dont ask me why, but I am a die hard supporter of Escape Dead Island. Is it a good dead island game? Fuck no when you look at it like that it sucks, but if you think about it as a completely independent game (since it barely follow any semblance of dead story line) is it becomes much better imo.

Dead Island had different characters. All Dying Light games have to offer is kage bunshin no jutsu. BTW, I didn't even play any Dead Island game. Just saying that Dying Light removed some features that were available in Dead Island.

I'll be honest, I played the first Dead Island game back when I had my Xbox 360. It's not my favorite, but I agree with Dead Island 2 being a massive improvement over the first game. As far as Dying Light, I adore Dying Light 2. I still play it to this day and I consider it one of my favorite games of all time. The first Dying Light is amazing as well. Overall, if I had to choose one of the series to go with, I'd say Dying Light. It's unique in the sense that you can parkour in a post apocalyptic wasteland while bashing in infected with melee weapons.

Dying Light has 2 main games. Dead Island has 2 main games as well. Riptide is a standalone expansion. Spin-offs are spin-offs.
