This is honestly to me the greatest achievement of the show, it's consistency. I got into Sunny around season 9 or so and to this day have not watched every episode. Why? Cause there was no reason for me to go in and watch it in any order. I'll just toss on a random episode I know or don't know as the mood takes me and know I'll be entertained.

Great video overall. My only real comment is that i think you're missing the point of the jokes when it comes to Carmen. They're never against her for being trans. The jokes are all about Mac's insecurities and the fact that he is actually in the closet, but would never admit it at that point. I think they treated the trans topic incredibly well given the time those episodes came out.

I think certain aspects of it weren't done the best (which is to be expected, given the time) but as someone says Carmen is never the butt of the joke, Mac is for being weird with it. And as with all stuff in IASIP, it's never done because they (the writers) are hateful, and it's never offensive for offensiveness' sake, it's using offensive characters to shine a light on real issues

I think you can say similar things about the blackface/racial stereotype character scenes. Never are they depicted in a positive light and the other characters are mostly aware of how inappropriate and stupid it is to dress in that manner, so I think streaming services banning the episodes was a massive overreaction.

I’ll go to bat for the hang cracks the liberty bell. Not only are the sets and costumes great, but they really made full use of the fact that the story is noncanonical. The bit about Frank and Charlie with the guns culminates perfectly in Cricket getting shot, which of course would never happen in the normal timeline. It’s also just overall funny to see the normal bullshit from the gang in this different skin.

It's so interesting how similar and altogether different people's opinions can be. We had several of the same favorite episodes, and the same is true with some of our least favorites. However, "The Gang Spies like U.S." is one of my ALL TIME favorite Always Sunny episodes, and I find myself rewatching it constantly. Charlie, Mac, and Dennis's hushed conversation at Guigino's is perfect. The wordplay and subsequent missunerstanding around what they each mean by "cream pie" is a classic Always Sunny bit (to me). And Charlie struggling to find a good spot for the bugged-plant is another borderline perfect scene. Dee's subplot does drag the episode down a bit, but the cat and mouse game between Charlie/Frank and Dennis/Mac is just what the show does best; take a simple (insane) premise and take it to the extreme.

1:10:25 is EASILY my favorite setup for my favorite joke of the WHOLE show: because of his giant ego, and meeting the God/British version of himself, Dennis hears how awesome a British accent would be. He then busts into the room later in the episode (first time linking with the gang since his narcissistic revelation) and yells "Stop Charlie" in an AWFUL british accent.

i will never understand how people can say certain episodes, jokes or full plot points are “in poor taste” “insensitive” or my LEAST favorite “didnt age well”. if it was funny then its still funny now. i hate that those are such common terms no a days and clearly show a 1000% misunderstanding of the show as a whole. the fact that episodes have even been removed bothers me to my core because of the message it says to society, not to get all deep but its such a front and center glimpse of the negative trajectory comedy is headed towards in this day & age that very soon we wont be allowed to laugh at ANYTHING unless a certain group of people (who are apparently so against oppression theyve taken it upon themselves to become oppressive to save us all from ourselves) tell us its okay to laugh at jokes. you as clearly a big fan like myself should understand this more than anyone & i was extremely surprised at your stance on some of these things. am i making a mountain out of a mole hill? maybe. it just worries me how quick huge masses of people turn on a dime and hate things or dislike them bc trends tell them too (not making any judgement on you btw and i dont feel it fully applies to you only slightly) that being said, i absolutely loved this vid as always & can tell you’re a true fan like myself, and i really appreciate the hard work and time you put into this.

The gang cracks the liberty Bell is an amazing episode imo and I never understood the hatred. I disagree with a lot of the rankings here but it's cool that different people can get different things from different episodes. For me the gang gets trapped is the perfect episode.

Commenting on your comment about "Carmen" and how "it shows how old it series is". I hate to break it to you but the vast majority of the world views the thought of getting with Carmen absolutely stomach turning. This isn’t really related to anything but my personal favourite moment is in “The Gang Exploits a Miracle” when Charlie enters the bar dressed in a full white suit and singing “I’ve got the good lord goin down on me.” That makes me laugh every single time I see it and even thinking about it I can’t not laugh fornsome reason.

Charlie in the season 15 finale has one of the most heart wrenching scenes in not only the show, but tv. His breakdown on the mountain will always stick with me, the small moments of sincerity that this show displays are my favorite.
