My favorite version of the "classic" victory theme is the Cosmos-aligned victory theme from Dissidia. For the XIV versions: The 1.0 version plays in a few cutscenes and when you win a chocobo race.

I've always preferred the Chaos one, personally! Which is funny, because I rarely played as the villains! I didn't realise the 1.0 version also features in a few areas in 2.0 onwards!

First time I've seen your content. Nice list! That was fun. As an old school XI player, that couple seconds of level up music was the greatest sound in the world, especially 60+ when it was hours of work. Gotta throw in the level down/death music too to give it full context. But yeah, individually it belongs right where you have it.

The theme from Lightning Returns actually amazed me when I first played the game. It was also a reason why I enjoyed the game the most out of the trilogy.

On my Apple Music version of the XIII-2 soundtrack Honor's Fanfare is known as Glory's Fanfare, which is the same as the fanfare for XIII. There's also Blessed Fanfare which I think you might prefer after what you said. There's also two different songs called Etro's champion, I think I've heard two names for several songs on the XIII-2 soundtrack.

FF8 and X-2 are definitely my favorite, FF8 just goes so hard and feels like the perfect version of that theme for the game it's in and X-2 is reminiscent of the original but has the guts to do it's own thing which I guess sums up the game overall for better or worse, I never actually finished it but I appreciate the hell out of it

XIII and XIII-2 deserve so much moreee here, they might not be super energetic but they sound incredible and really get across the "we won the battle! let's relish in our victory" vibes while also really driving home the technological aspects of the games

Definitely agree where you placed 7. The fact that it was the very first fanfare that was different in the series makes it more iconic. Love the content!

Don't get me wrong, FFX is my favourite game, period. But I'm just super not a fan of its fanfare versus the others! 😅

Personally I wouldn't put any of them in peak, but what do I know? My favorite victory fanfare is from 12. But that fanfare also came with some fun little animations that changed for each character and what weapon they had equipped. On the flip side though I don't think any of them are bad either, well, maybe 11's.

I think the first one you played for 14 is when you finish a GATE at the gold saucer with perfect score haha, or when you finish first at a chocobo race. It also plays during very specific side quests, usually for relief or comedy purposes ( I know it plays during Hildibrand quests or Tribal quests) The second one was when you finish a duty

Adding on, this is correct. The second is definitely the end-dungeon theme, while the first is more for fun things like Gold Saucer success or such.

I remember not spending a whole bunch of time at the Gold Saucer, so that's probably why the theme did not stick with me haha

VII's will always be my favorite. The foreboding synth that appears in the background to give you the allusion that there are still more fights to go through. It's just so good. XVI's is amazing, but plays like 6 times unfortunately.

FF8 is iconic, it was the perfect blend of the old and new aesthetics of the franchise. I'd love for you to do opening/ending themes ! So many bangers there, or the main themes from the games

I've played 1 - 10 and Dissidia. My favorite by far is the Chaos Variation, and FFV's. -Final Fantasy 7's too.

FF15 Comrades fanfare was saying to the player: U won the battle but not the war. Also, FF8 is the ost goat!

FFXIII-2 you cut it just before it got more interesting. Also there was another similar version that you missed! It plays if you managed to did excellent in battle. I think you woulda liked this better than XII Not gonna lie i teared up once I heard V's fanfare 😂 idk why even tho its not my most favorite one. Meanwhile I didnt feel the same way with my favorite.

FF14 information: Starting with Heavensward, each expansion will have a Raid series (12 total fights), an Alliance Raid series (generally each end boss has their own theme), and Trials through the main story + separate side-quests. The Raid series has a lot of repeat music, so you can probably get 8 or so songs out of that, 3 from the Alliance Raids, and probably 7+ from the main story. The songs are 5 minutes and some have lyrics. Unless you were to truncate the songs for KZbin purposes, you're looking at possibly 2 hours per expansion, which I imagine would be unfeasible. My suggestion if you were to do this is split the themes into Raid Boss themes and Story/Trial boss themes. As for dungeon themes, the Alliance Raids would probably count as dungeons, so there's 3 there each expansion. You have probably 14 different dungeons/expansion from Shadowbringers on (+ the 3 Alliance Raid so 17), and a lot more in Heavensaward/Stormblood because they added a lot more extra dungeons in those expansions. Those themes are shorter though so it might be more viable to do on KZbin. With ARR, there's so much stuff there, I don't really know how to split that up.

I feel like the dungeon themes in FFXIV are all so much better in context because they are expansions of the area themes they’re located at. P.S. the victory fanfare that you played for FFXIV (the second one) plays for all duty victories in every expansion not just ARR

Another one to rank (still think main character theme would be good) would be the lyrical themes. The only problem is I believe that would exclude 1-5. VI - Opera Maria and Draco VII - (cheating to avoid OWA) Hollow VIII - Eyes On Me IX - Melodies of Life X - Suteki Da Ne XI - Distant Worlds XII - Kiss Me Goodbye XIII - Eternal Love XIV - lots just pick the trailer songs XV - Stand By Me Florence version or Somnus XVI - Moongazing

You should have gone with Blessed Fanfare from FFXIII-2 not the Glory's Fanfare as Blessed Fanfare plays when you get 5 stars at the batte results (which you get most of the time). Blessed Fanfare sounds better than Glory's Fanfare. My all time favourite Final Fantasy Fanfares are FF7 and FFXIII-2 Blessed Fanfare.

Original FF14 release is 1.0. FF14 ARR is technically 2.0 which was the reworked re release.

I think VII has the best soundtrack overall, but plenty of other games have amazing tracks. The Extreme is an amazing Final Boss track, for example. I think XII is trying to mimic the sound of FFT as they are the same universe. XIII has amazing tracks, some of the best in the franchise. But it either didn't do a version of a classic track (like Fanfare) or just didn't work.

In regards to FFXII and FFT, yes they take place in the same world of Ivalice. But they also share the same composer, so it makes sense that the style would be the same. Same goes for Vagrant Story (which I haven't played), it's very "Ivalice-coded" with the same composer and dev team from FFT.

Bear in mind, I've not played FF Tactics, but I would put it on A TIer right above ARR! I like how it uses an alternate version of the series' prelude theme!
