Kitana's friendship is personally my favorite one. Seeing kitana hug mileena like that fills me with so much joy i genuinely cried the first time i did it in game, im so happy in mk1 they finally made them sisters that love and care for each other without ruining their personalities.

What I love about Lui Kang's friendship so much is the awkward smile he's got on. Dude's a serious-ass Shaolin monk, the Chosen One, and becomes a literal god and the Keeper of Time, but somehow isn't very comfortable performing for a crowd even though the man can absolutely kill it on the dance floor. It's such a wide gap and such a relatable feeling that it makes it funnier than it is.

Honestly I put Cassie's friendship dead last because it's the most the in character one to where it feels so dang uninspired. Part of the fun of these is to see these deadly fighter break character. It just felt lazy on the devs end that they couldn't think of anything. If truly wanted to keep selfie bit, then they could've had Cassie take selfies WITH the opponent to parody her gruesome MKX fatality. That alone would've elevated such a lame concept because the idea that someone gets their ass kicked but then agrees to take a selfie with the winner is absurd.

One detail I like about the Kabal one is that he sheathes the hammers just like his hookblades. Though like said before, it's hard to overstate how much better some of these would be if they interacted with the opponent, like the ones who get some food, candy, or toy shared them or if for example Cetrion made a swing for them too.

Baraka’s would have been better if Tarkatans came in with plates and caught the slices. They bacusllt stole that idea for his new fatal The Kitana and Mileena ones are so good because they actually play into their story. Kitana finally being a loving sister to Mileena, and Mileena being lonely and having a tea party by herself. Also the Kitana and Jade bears sitting far away from the Mileena bear I like to head canon that Scorpion’s bear is the one Mileena gave him. Also saw a comment elsewhere thst said he should have had a friendship where he yells “get over here” and all the ninjas come in for a group hug. I think it’s feasible in the new game since every ninja is in basegame Cassie’s really should have been better if she got the opponent to show up in one of the photos Could have been cool fi Batman came in with a finger waggle to Joker, but I do think excluding him is a good idea if him having a model makes people ask him to be in the game.
