As someone from Europe I'm surprised and equally appalled at how many frozen pasta dishes there are. 😳😱 The whole reason for pasta is that it has a long shelf live and is easy to make - a favorite for children. Is this Trader Joe's some manner of regional chain? I had never heard of it prior to stumbling across this channel via the Bubble Bass burger episode...
@johnoconnor124317 күн бұрын
@@JwsponkyTheir ~600 locations are relatively evenly dispersed across the US based on population. Anywhere with a pro sports team probably has at least a few, and plenty of mid-sized towns also have one, probably with an upper class skew. If you're not truly rural or in an isolated small town, there's generally a TJ's within a half hour drive. Plenty of exceptions do exist, of course. Also, I'll second the original comment. It's really crazy how superior TJ's pasta is to the offerings at most grocery stores. To the point where it's a bit shocking to me that others haven't copied. Even most of the mid products in this video can be made pretty decent with a minimal amount of added seasoning. For instance, the bland creamy offerings (fettuccine alfredo, fiocchetti, rigatoni) are significantly elevated with as little as a healthy dose of black pepper, let alone a serving of grilled meat. And it's not like they're super pricey either. How tf do Bertolli and the like stay in business? Rana is the only major brand that comes close to competing with TJ's, but their offerings tend to be a slightly different category.

I was actually surprised by the price! Wish I had a Trader Joe’s by me

Some things like meat are quite expensive there, but a lot of things are really reasonably priced. At least where I live the trader joe's eggs are locally sourced and super cheap and yummy.

Trader Joe's is the best pricing on healthy, tasty, varied food! Especially if you're a single person living alone - nothing's better for the budget than TJ's 🥺🥺

Putting the Penne Arrabiata at a 6 is straight up a hate crime. Best pasta at TJ's. Add some of their pancetta to it? Literal dream.

I call bias on the downgrading of the pesto tomato pasta… Thanks for the fun watch!

As someone who has had most of these, your reviews were spot on with my feelings. Just tried the carbonara last week and had the same reaction, I avoided the pancetta like the plague

Anyone that doesn't have a Trader Joe's near by, I am sorry. They are so awesome and with the costs and quality and size of just about everything heading in the wrong direction everywhere else, you can get amazing, more natural groceries at a fraction of the price at Trader Joe's.

The mushroom risotto is a staple in my fridge.I add a few handfuls of frozen peas and serve it with a few cracks of pepper and some parm. Every one in a while, I'll even toast some pine nuts. This product did not get a fair shake

aw man. the spinach & ricotta ravioli was a favorite weeknight meal of mine growing up. maybe my bias precedes me but that’s a solid 8 for me
