It's hard not to love Fall of Cybertron's rendition of Grimlock. As much of a lovable goofball he's normally characterised as, it was interesting seeing him for once portrayed as a legitimate threat to the Decepticons who shows no mercy. Easily the most badass iteration yet.

My favorite Grimlock designs are his G1, Bayverse, Cyberverse and his Earthspark incarnations. But the one that really appealed to me, is/was his Fall of Cybertron design. I really bumped up when I saw him in the game for the first time, I really love this kinda more futuristic looking T-Rex mode. I really hope that Gamer Edition won't mess up his design when they made a toy of him from the game. I wanted to get my hands on that 3rd party Planet X Fall of Cybertron figure of him. And I imagine this how he would have looked in the live-action universe if the movies weren't directed by Michael Bay. His Earthspark incarnation is also really great, and Keith David did such an amazing performance, I loved that Grimlock wasn't just a stupid, low minded dinosaur that just liked to break everything, but instead was a really smart and very friendly Autobot who was kind of a fatherly figure for Jawbreaker, and helped him pick up his alt-mode!

I gotta go with the Transformers Animated design, the proportions are just right, not too blocky but still robotic enough, and I like how they turned the classic faceplate into an armoured underbite, which the Trex form also has, consistency between the forms being something other designs don't have really. Plus the red, greys and golds tie it all together.

Very time I'm reminded of Beast Wars Grimlock, I'm always confused by the fact they didn't make him a Megatron recolour / redeco. 1) he's a T-Rex 2) the T-Rex head hand would have been cool for Grimlock. Be funny if the T-Rex head ends up housing the consciousness of smart Grimlock whereas the main body remains classic G1 Grimlock. Edit: looked at some digibashes and omg it works so well

I always wondered why instead of the naff name "T-Wrecks", they didn't just name the BW Megatron redeco "Grimlock". Also think it a missed opportunity that TM 2 Dinobot wasn't Grimlock in the show, voiced by Gregg Berger.

I liked how in Fall Of Cybertron Grimlock doesn’t start as the more simple speaking version we were used to but you see how he got to that point as his mind deteriorated thanks to Shockwave’s experimentation on him. It added a bit of a tragic edge to an aspect of him that was usually played for laughs, and the character overall in that game was far more intimidating which helped set him apart while still remaining true to his core.

Fall of Cybertron, hands down. While I haven't played the game, I saw AMHarbinger's playthrough of the game, and I love Chapter 12, especially during the encounter with Kickback where Ground Fight plays, signifying that Grimlock's new Dino mode is gonna splatter some Insecticons in epic fashion.

This may be a hot take, but I'm not a particular fan of the Bayformers Dinobots. Like Bayformers Megatron, they're very busy designs with perhaps too much detail. And what makes it worse is that they're very monochrome. It's like looking at a box filled with random LEGO pieces that are all in the grey scale of colors. The designs don't feel purposeful with its detail. It's moreso an issue with their robot modes. The Dinosaur modes are still cool, and it feels like more effort was put into those designs.

11:23 Feels more like a scorpion, so it could be a neat alt mode for a character usually associated with those, or even a new one as a way to have a scorpion without a beast mode.... but Grimlock needs something meaner. And a different color scheme. Edit: A better vehicle than 13:20 though. Yeesh!

I remember seeing on the Transformers Battle Circuit game of TF Classics Grimlock ( I’m guessing 2006-2007?) I never found or bought it as a kid. My best friend has a Fall Of Cybertron Grimlock figure with the shield and sword and years later, I would also happen to find a Grimlock figure at a store called BOOK OFF. Now, for context, I had a friend who was visiting from university and we got with our other friends and went to Book Off and I wondered into a small toy section of the place and 4 figures were there from the TF Classics line, at first, I saw Ramjet and was gonna buy him but then Grimlock, Rodimus (Hot Rod) and Starscream caught my eye and I bought them except Ramjet (sad). It wasn’t until I bought them that Classics Grimlock came with a bayonet like blaster and a tail whip which I liked (even if it wasn’t leader class but I didn’t mind because the design was very cool for a mid 2000s toy to this day in my opinion). I then used an SFX app to make him shoot fire in his T-Rex mode and had photo shots of him and Rodimus getting chased then battle Starscream. I was thinking about one day buying more Classics figures but decided to wait until then because I have to focus more on the future at hand but I would love to start a Transformers collection like my best friend. Edit: currently my collection consists of: TF CLASSICS: -Grimlock -Rodimus (Hot Rod) -Starscream -Jetfire TF Universe: -G1 IDW Drift -Treadbolt (Classics Jetfire recolor) And then an of 2007 Bumblebee figure where he transforms into a 1977 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Why I never mentioned Classics Jetfire and Universe Treadbolt was that at the time, the store wasn’t selling Jetfire but days later was gone and so, I got him and Treadbolt from EBay.

RID Grimlock did have a release of his deluxe (warrior? I forget what they called it) figure in the G1 Colours with a battle mask head. Also the Device label Grimlock, and his mold mate Trypticon (who were apparently initially billed as Overkill and BW Dinobot on BBTS, so at least one of them would've fit the raptor mode, while the other would fit with Ravage as the USB drive) was indeed a functional USB Laser mouse, not a USB Stick. The only Device Label figure to not function as the thing it turned into was Broad Blast aka Blaster, who turned into a laptop but was actually a USB hub

The Grimlock in Academy is RiD, the biggest tell is that RiD Grimlock is afraid of cats and the one in Academy is scared of one that shows up later on. Also given how some of the cadets are relatives to some of the veterans like Medix being Ratchet's nephew, maybe the RiD Grimlock is the son of the FoC Grimlock. While Sludge and Snarl would later appear in Academy and come to call RiD Grimlock the leader of the Dinobots, it could be safe to say these incarnations of Sludge and Snarl are also the kids of the respective originals.

Well, you can get Hasbro's Masterpiece Grimlock for around $60-70 if you are patient, maybe even less, $80-90 if you want to get him right now. I got one for around $40 couple of years ago. :D If you don't mind KOs (high quality, as good as original) oversized KO Reximus Prime goes for around $90-100. Takara's MP Grimlock is generally somewhat more expensive.

I'm not normally the biggest fan of the War/Fall of Cybertron designs. Which I know is a very unpopular opinion. However, Grimlock is one of the exceptions; that design is great.

1.Pretenders Grimlock looks like slugfest 2. IDK how i feel about AOE It's like what every person has been complaining about most of the bayverse designs about being grey blobs with sharp jagged edges all over, and i heavy dislike the head design . I liked what they were going for at first, i don't see it as a knight, it feels more of a barbarian design with. The Dino mode looks sick AF, i like that they added the horns like a Chinese dragon. 3.Cyberverse is my personal favorite and i find it a cool take on him taking traits of the Hulk. 4. XM studios is God's creation 5. I haven't seen Earthspark but i actually like especially when his visor changes color depending on his emotional state 6. RID 2015 I don't love nor hate it, my head canon is he's like the other BW character that use the name of the og My pet peeve is that the aligned continuity has never been consistent.

My Best Grimlock is from G1, Animated, Comics, Aligned, Bayverse, Cyberverse and Earth Spark. I like Grimlock to be as a Big Powerful Wild Robotic Warrior with Weapon Club and transform into a Fire-Breathing Mechanical Tyrannosauridae Mode and of course is The Leader of Dinobots.🔥🦖🤖🤩😉👍✨

In my opinion the proper grimlock human vehicle mode would be a rock trencher i think it would be cool to flip flop the construticons and the dinobots teams but keep the same names for each team the dinobots names stay with the autobots and visa-versa where the decipticon dinobots are a combiner and the autobot constructicons dont gestalt but are stupid powerful

While the angry bird design itself is quite bad, I unironically really like the idea of the robot mode being the dinosaur form and then it turning to a vehicle, not sure if works for Grimlock as a character though…

My favorite versions of Grimlock are G1, Animated, Bayverse, and EarthSpark. Speaking of EarthSpark, I really like Grimlock in that show, because not only is he voiced by the legendary Keith David, but his design and personality are great. Hopefully, we'll see the rest of the Dinobots in season 2 of the show.
