A tyranitar has enough power in one arm to level an entire mountain, aron have been known to eat the metal off of rail roads causing train to derail, pikachu has electricity whose wattage exceeds that of a defibrillator (getting electrocuted by one would stop your heart), charmander's flame are hot enough to evaporate water on contact (including the flame on its tail), weedle are known to be aggressive and have poison potent enough to kill an elephant to ward off predators, squirtle can shoot water with enough psi to cut through rock in seconds (could tear through human skin on contact), bulbasaur's vine whip can gash human skin cutting deep much like a standard whip and his razor leaf is strong enough to cut through trees and tear straight through a human and a magikarp can literally jump over skyscrapers, with that amount of force its tackle would straight up destroy a person much like a car going 80mph and a pidgey can create tornadoes by merely flapping its wings. Get the idea yet? If you actually read pokemon pokedex entries or followed their game lore they can literally destroy the world a million times over.

Couldn’t the grass types just poison and leech seed stall while dodging Johns attacks using vine whip to jump high? Grass types would be the most difficult ones to defeat because of those feats. Fire Pokémon can use smokescreen or smog to gas John out and then just burn him alive. Even charmander can do that since he learns smokescreen. Water Pokémon may seem like the easiest but being hit by water at full force is extremely strong something like bubblebeam uses water to make the bubbles travel in a straight line giving them more accuracy.

Honestly if you put Vulpix in punt I would have dead panned purely because both Vulpix and Ninetails can slowly kill you inside out with their legend curse and foxes are normally demons in many cultures because of their trickster personalities. I could beat up a regular dog but some pokemon would definitely kick my butt with their powers. A regular dog isn't hard to beat if you're able to outsmart it. I hesitate to beat up animals unless I have to but I have been in a situation where a dog got so aggressive that I try to stop it from coming through the door at my cousin's house. I had to cover the door with a chair. Then when the dog got in, it started chasing me and it still couldn't get me because of how fast I was running. My uncle ended up disciplining it for being very aggressive.
