I don't know why you're surprised that the first ever UCS set is so valuable, it's a pretty self explanatory situation. The argument against the Jedi Starfighter not making sense as a UCS set because "those types of starfighters are usually better when it comes to playability rather than displayability" doesn't make sense because you could leverage that argument against every single fighter sized vehicle they've released in UCS scale. The B-Wing's side wings can fold in flat against the body, they're actually built that way in the instructions. I'm curious as to why you think that the Tie Fighter coming with an exclusive figure makes it's retail value fair, especially given that Lego doesn't price their sets based on figure exclusivity. What do you mean by full scale Executor? Because if you built one accurate to minifigure scale it would be 422m/1384.5ft long so I'm guessing you just mean a bigger version. Hard disagree on the OG Star Destroyer; everything I've heard about it and all the reviews make it seem like an unwieldy mess that uses magnets to barely hold together the plating and the internal frame is so badly designed that the technic bricks end up warped and stressed beyond repair. The new one looks better, is more accurate, is sturdier and isn't liable to break it's own pieces due to a poorly designed frame. Honestly in my opinion the OG Star Destroyer seems like the single worst UCS release to date. I know my own ranking falls under pretty specific ideals of what makes something a good UCS set but I'm intrigued as to what metrics you use to decide what makes one good or bad.

For the first ever set, it's just that it wasn't that great of a set but it's true that the supply is quite low so it makes sense that the price is high. Good point for the Obi-Wan's Starfighter, that was just my personal opinion. Noted for the B-wing. The TIE Fighter's retail price was already decent and this was the first TIE Fighter Pilot we had that had printed arms, which was a big deal at the time. Yes, for the Executor, I mean much bigger than the other UCS Star Destroyer. For the OG Star Destroyer, I didn't know that it was fragile and was basing the rating mainly on its looks. I was mainly basing my rating on the quality of its content, their appearance, price, minifigures, so most of it was my personal opinion.

@@GabrielOuellet132 I would like to apologise that I came off as angry in the last comment, I appreciate you taking the time to read and reply to all my points. You raise a good point about the Tie Fighter being the first set to include a Tie pilot to come with printed arms, I honestly hadn't thought of that. Glad you didn't mean minifigure scale for the Executor, and I noted while checking that it is only slightly longer than the 2nd UCS Star Destroyer so I can understand wanting a new one that's substantially longer given how much more imposing the Star Destroyer is when the two are the same size.

@@tristanlee8495 No worries, thanks for the reply and I appreciate the critiques so that I can improve my sets ranking and give better criteria when rating them.

I dont think a sets price and how its appreciated in the market should be evaluated in a ranking because its wildly subjective. One could think its better for a lego set to be more widely available while another can value exclusivity. When looking at these types of sets i would only consider the quality of its contents, not if its worth three times as much today as it was on the shelf.

Fair point, I was debating whether I should take into consideration the price or not. Thanks for letting me know, I'll keep that in mind if I do another ranking! Some people could see it as overpriced and worse while others could see it as a better set because the demand is high and it's exclusive.

I feel you need not complain about minifigures being exclusive you should buy the set for the build not the minifigure as there the extra addition to the set i aslo still could never justify some of the prices like €850 is quite frankly ridiculous in my opinion
@GabrielOuellet1326 ай бұрын
True, the build is certainly the most important thing about the set.

I think that the razor chrest is one of the best ucss especially for the fact that it is minifigure scale

It's very accurate to the show and it's a cool set but I think they should've made it with less pieces for a cheaper price.

Same, I ended up buying it a few months ago for a lot more than its retail price.
