The 3DS version for dark moon is definitely the best to play if you like playing the original game instead of playing the HD version but the 3DS version is just very fun

The contols in Luigi's Mansion 3DS were fine with a New 3DS model because of the C stick. It seems unfair that you didn't mention that method of controlling the game.

Yeah but the C Stick's durability on the New 3DS is awful. Like I can count how many of my games use it and it still broke I do remember that it actually worked pretty well before it broke though

Finally someone truly appreciates 2, I absolutely loved Dark Moon, the bosses were so fun and I really liked how you got to go to different mansions, really gave it more variety, I remember my favorite level was probably when you fought that knight boss, I remember it took me a long time to figure out how to trip him.

I ALSO MIGHT THINK THAT THE 3DS VERSION OF LUIGI'S MANSION IS BETTER, JUST BECAUSE OF THE HIDDEN MANSION, THE OG ONE IS EASY BUT THE HIDDEN MANSION IS ACTUALLY REALLY FUN AND HARD AS HELL. WEIRDLY ENOUGH I FIND MYSELF COMING BACK TO 2 WAYYYY MORE THAN 3. I THINK THE GHOSTS' DESIGNS ARE MORE FUN THAN 3'S (OBVIOUSLY EXCLUDING THE CHARACTER GHOSTS I LOVE THEM). GREENIES CLEAR ALL OTHER GHOSTS EASILY AND THE BIG RED GHOSTS FROM 3 ARE LITERALLY JUST SLAMMERS THAT WERE SHOVED INTO A BOX THAT WAS TOO SMALL DURING SHIPPING TO THE HOTEL. THE CHARACTER GHOSTS HARD CARRY THAT GAME IN DESIGN FOR SURE. MAYBE EXCLUDING THE TRAPPER GHOSTS BUT YOU SEE THEM LIKE TWICE DURING THE WHOLE GAME. I FEEL LIKE THE 2 HD SHOULD HAVE BEEN A REMAKE INSTEAD OF JUST A REMASTER THOUGH. IT WOULD HAVE GONE CRAZY IF IT HAD THE TRUE GRAPHICAL QUALITY OF 3. PLUS SOME UPDATES TO SCARESCRAPER TO BRING UP TO PAR WITH 3'S COMPLEXITY. I DO THINK 3 IS OBJECTIVELY BETTER BUT I HATE THAT IT DOESN'T REALLY HAVE MUCH REPLAYABILITY COMPARED TO THE OTHER 2. LIKE ONCE YOU BEAT THE FIRST GAME YOU CAN JUST IMMEDIATELY BOOT UP THE SAME SAVE FILE, AND JUST JUMP RIGHT INTO THE MANSION (OR THE HIDDEN MANSION, WHICH 3 AND 2 COULD HAVE BOTH USED) AND START FROM THE BEGINNING. I THINK 3 COULD HAVE REALLY HOOKED ME MORE IF IT JUST HAD THAT TINY CONVENIENCE, INSTEAD OF HAVING TO EITHER DELETE THE SAVE OR START A NEW SAVE FILE. ALSO SCARESCRAPER IS SO HARD IN 3 FOR SOME REASON, AT LEAST IF YOU'RE PLAYING SOLO. IT'S MECHANICALLY BETTER THAN 2'S FOR OBVIOUS REASONS BUT FOR SOME REASON I JUST GET MY ASS KICKED WHEN PLAYING IT SOLO AND DON'T HAVE MUCH FUN. 2'S WAS FUN NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU HAD EVEN THOUGH THE LEVELS WERE MECHANICALLY LESS INTERESTING.

I've been on a big luogis mansion kick since 2 HD came out. I loved playing through that game, and i went back and played the original yesterday. I also picked up the 3DS version of the original (which i also really liked when it came out)

Ive been playing these games for the first time recently and i can agree on placing Dark Moon over the original. The controls simply felt more fluent and varied in Dark Moon than the original. I still love both games but its one of those where i believe most people who say they love the game the most is probably blinded so much by nostalgia, that some of the "first game in the series" problems go right past them I believe a similar thing for different reasons about mario galaxy since everyone praises it as the best 3d mario but i hate how slow and floaty the game feels compared to 64 or Odyssey

To be fair the original Luigi's Mansion on the 3-DS has the option to attach the 3-DS system into the circle pad pro that would then give you two circle pads and Z-R and Z-L trigger buttons along with the 3-DS right and left bumper buttons which in my opinion is a better way to play than the original Game cube controller's normal stick and the little yellow stick. Also the 3-DS game has way better graphics and has a two player story mode using Gooigi which you did mention but it is those 3 reasons that i mentioned above that in my opinion the original Luigi's Mansion is better on the 3-DS than on the Game cube system. I did forget to mention the use of amiibo functionality which allows for optional abilities such as help finding boos and changing poison mushrooms to regular mushrooms for healing health or reviving Luigi's health if it reached zero.

Great video, tho the New 3DS supplies a second stick. Luigi’s Mansion 3DS plays fine on that control wise. I would still prefer a regular controller but it’s honestly pretty good like that. Wish you would’ve mentioned it, however I don’t think your ranking would’ve changed since you value the atmosphere of the original so much. But it’s my personal favorite version thanks to the new additions and the better graphics (mostly). If it were on Switch, it’d have a normal controller and would be pretty much perfect for me. But again, the controls on New 3DS are good. And the game is finally in 3D like it was originally intended to be, which was pretty neat to experience.

Honestly I prefer the first game. It was short and simple yes, but I really enjoyed the combat in that game. 2 felt very bland to me but did have(arguably) the best appearance of King Boo and a slightly different story, with 3 feeling very safe with the lack of any real stakes and is just a better version of 2.

I haven't played Dark Moon HD or the arcade game yet, but I felt like each release was a slight step down from the previous version. I REALLY didn't like 3. The graphics were great but the game was really lacking in that creepy atmosphere and oddly grounded setting that made the first game so special while also being just kind of tedious to play IMO. The first game will for the time being remain my favorite, Dark Moon was an okay followup with some big shortcomings, and the 3DS remake of the OG is a clunky way to play it but not terrible.

I played the first Luigi’s Mansion for the first time recently, I didn’t enjoy it as much as most people but it’s not a bad game I thought the pacing is a bit awkward given that the element abilities are obtained within 2 chapters especially since they are under utilised & Mario’s clothes are obtained within a short span of time to catch a fortune teller ghost The controls haven’t aged that well in my opinion I get this is a game from 2001 & I have nothing against classics but their’s no instructions telling you where to go & what to do, especially for those playing for the story The story is too short for me, even if this game does play a big part in Luigi’s character, I would have enjoyed it more if it was longer The enemy ghosts lack personality in them, as long as the enemy ghosts have a balance between good design & personality, I’m happy, I just think Luigi’s Mansion 2 did the enemy ghosts better since it has a good balance between design & personality I do think the first Luigi’s Mansion is a decent game, I think a real remake (I don’t consider the 3DS version a remake since it uses the same music & character animations with only the graphics & the characters models being different) by Next Level Games could address some of the issues

@@RoboMarioBros Luigi's Mansion 1 lower than 2 or 3? Seems biased. I mean 2 and 3 really watered down the haunted aspect. The aspect that most likely made the original popular. 2 and 3 didn't really land the haunted aspect as well as 1.

The other games actually have interesting gameplay and have somewhat of a story while Luigis Mansion 1 is just entering rooms and trapping ghosts. Not to say the gameplay is boring but it is lacking compared to the others.

@@RoboMarioBros uh, ok, that's fine but tbh Luigi should have known something was wrong in 3. Like a gold looking hotel called the last resort. Talk about weak. Like Luigi goes through how many mansions at that point? Between both 1 and Dark moon? Yeah, Luigi should have easily predicted that the last resort was a trap. If the name didn't give it away it being all gold and glamorous should have. Also breath of the wild proved that gameplay isn't everything. After my first playthrough botw was a yawnfeast. Gameplay doesn't always come out on top Robo.

He should’ve known he can’t just win a house. Dark Moon is the only one where he was sucked into doing the ghosthunting thus why I think it’s probably the best story wise.

I personally prefer the LM2 ghost designs the most for 1 simple reason they fit the Mario universe the most the humanoid boss ghosts from LM1 and LM3, are too human looking for the Marioverse the normal ghosts from LM1 aren't as charming as the Marioverse and the normal ghosts from LM3, look... awkward and off to me, something about their designs just doesn't feel right

Luigi's Mansion 3 (2019) Nintendo Switch was and still is the best Luigi's Mansion game of all time even Luigi's Mansion 2 HD with the multiplayer can't beat Luigi's Mansion 3 in my opinion! Luigi's Mansion 3 have the best Mansion, graphics, story, characters and soundtracks! Because Luigi's Mansion 3 is my favourite Luigi's Mansion game and I'll wait for Luigi's Mansion 4 these are my reasons why I'll skip Luigi's Mansion 2 HD even without to have it on Nintendo 3DS and it have the multiplayer mode. About of Luigi's Mansion 4 here's things what I would LOVE to see from it: Luigi and friends encluding Daisy are going to vacation to Daisy's own Cruise Ship what turns into the ghost cruise ship at night, King Boo captures everyone, but Luigi and Luigi needs to save them that's what I want from Luigi's Mansion 4 what I believe is coming for "Nintendo Switch 2" whatever Nintendo Switch's follower will be in next year 2025: Ooh NOO Here we GOO! 🌅🛳🍄👨👨👸👸🐕🤓🌑🌌😈💀👻💎💚
