My favorite thing about Moonview Highway is how it actually commits to its urban roadway theme and makes it genuinely hectic at parts yet gives you a little room to breathe. Other Mario Kart tracks have attempted similar themes but don’t really stick the landing to me (a lot of MK Tour tracks, and especially Toad’s Turnpike).

If I had a nickel for every time Mario Kart 8 made a retro track of a course that had a similar and infinitely better track available from mario kart wii's special cup, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. (In case you were wondering I'm referring to toad's turnpike/moonview highway and dry dry desert/dry dry ruins.)

luigi’s circuit is so fun wym?? the shortcut at the end is so satisfying and just a simple track which usually has a pack racing so it’s just chaos with the items

MarioKart’s track diversity is so great, there really isn’t a wrong way to rank tracks or pick a favorite. Moo Moo Meadows is my favorite track across all the games but everything you said is true lol. You can just find fun in every corner of the series.

@@EmperorPenguin1217 dont look at every track under an analytical lens. a lot of us grew up with the series and it just happened to be our favorite. i always liked the aesthetics and the cows and monty moles, all the hills, it's just a fun, easy colorful track with great music and nostalgia. the series isnt meant to be taken with full seriousness, the most competitive parts still have a good share of luck. it's a party game

Usually, people rank Maple Treeway, Rainbow Road, Coconut Mall and Koopa Cape in the top 5, seeing none of them in the top 10 is beyond me. I think I can't understand people who rank tracks competitively instead of how good looking they are, but that's an interesting point of view, great vid !

honestly b tier imo? not every track needs to be super complex to be good, it’s one of my favorite tracks to play from the low driving skill needed so everyone just pelts eachother w items

I love Daisy Circuit's aesthetic and music, but I wish it wasn't so short. It's clearly inspired by the F1 Monaco Circuit, but it lacks the difficulty of it. I'm looking forward to the MK8D tier list!

You should do a "Gun Game" of sorts with NMeade or Mayro or any guest! Where you both start with 100% chance of pulling a really powerful item (eg shock or bullet bill), and whoever wins race between the two moves onto the next item down (so guaranteed star for example), then down again (mega/golden) until they get all the way down to Fake Item Box/Blooper, and whoever wins first (between the two players) with the worst items wins the game! Additional term, more optional: Placing last in any given race means you get setback one item, and placing first means you move TWO items down, to incentivise targeting players outside of your rival :) I think that'd be really fun to watch, but it could be messy in terms of modding the game like that (Yes im going to suggest this on every video until it either happens or we're told that it's not happening ♡)

Nice tier list! Kinda makes me want to hear your thoughts on other games in this style, like Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Definitely agree with the likes of Bowser's Castle and DK Summit being S tier tracks too. P.S. Dataminers found evidence that Dry Dry Ruins might be heading to Tour at some point, so there's the possibility it could end up in that game in future as well, making it a little less forgotten about by Nintendo.

@@TWD98 disappointed that you didn't put shy guy beach in s tier n especially maple treeway Maple because I like the items in bushes n the different routes its everything Wario goldmine n peach gardens should have been Ddr I say a tier because it feels too rng heavy same issue with the other desert track Shy guy is awesome you just have to time trial n learn the course there is a ton of hop drift tech that isn't seen unless you really time trial it We can all agree Luigi circuit n yoshi falls suk though because it is boring 💤 and daisy circuit I agree is a badly designed and executed course

DK Summit, Grumble Volcano, and BC3 definitely deserve to be considered S-tier tracks especially cuz of how the snow jump, rock hop, and “right angle paradise” ramp shortcuts were neatly designed!

I agree with your opinion on dry dry ruins... in my opinion it's the only good desert track and it's amazing and it's so fun... if you count cheese land as a desert track (which i really dont but i see why people say that) then cheese land is great too

I’ve got a soft spot for rainbow road in this game. 8 year old me grinded the hell out of it to try and beat the expert staff ghost and also to get the final star rating for mirror mode and man it made me feel like I mastered it. Coming back to this game now and learning about ultra short cuts and all the other tech I didn’t know about mad me love the track even more. Ctgp in general got me back into mkwii I was thinking about learning blender to make some stuff for it

I agree with most of this list. The only disagreements I have is that coconut mall, Koopa cape, and maple tree way should be higher in my opinion cause I love those tracks too much and sherbet land should be f cause I hate ice Mario kart levels. That said, very good list.

Nah you crazy. Best 5 tracks in the game are maple treeway, koopa cape, dk summit, rainbow road, and mushroom gorge. Each of them require some skill and shortcut ability, without it being too hard for any of them despite requiring some tech

mk wii is the first mario kart i played at christmas 2012 the rainbowroad has the best music and its fun that it is so hard my second favourite rainbowroad after 3ds even if i didnt play mk7 a lot the the rainbowroad is golden i just love the 3 section tracks
