Ranking EVERY Mario Party Game

I mainly grew up on MP8 so seeing you place it as high as you did makes me happy. Even now when I’m trying to play more of the MP games, I still can’t help but put it in top 3

They needed to bring back the ultimate risk/reward item, the Reverse Shroom. GOSH I don't care how many options it gave you, it really made MP3 fun and memorable with how much you could do it with. As well as the "rare items" that really made the item spaces worth gambling for (instead of the modern "EVERYONE gets a Golden pipe" system they have now), and GameGuy being the real sweat dropper, some meta stuff wtih the Bowser phone (call it on yourself with 0 coins for up to 50 free coins).... 3 did EVERYTHING right. (though they had quite too many luck based battle minigames and that annoying "0 coins" thing which causes the battle space to do nothing....). Also.... the first time you fight the Millenium star..... nothing short of one of the most epic moments in Mario history. A genuine final boss in a Mario Spin off and it wasn't Bowser. I still remember that feeling when he descends and does his chortle as that battle theme plays.

As a Mario Party expert (I own 2 of them) I can confirm these rankings are 100% correct. The pace of these games always keep me from replaying them too much, because wow I could play through the entirety of Portal during one 20 turn game. But of course they thrive in group settings. To follow the nostalgia rules, I guess 8 is my favorite because I played it at my cousin's house for like 5 minutes on Thanksgiving one time. Great video!

I agree with the ones you put at the top. Mainly because 2 is cute for having the costumes, 8 I grew up with (lol it looked so good back in 2007, but now I agree it's ugly) and the boards are super fun, and I've always wanted to play 6, never got around to it. I would argue that Super belongs on top of 1, but that's just being pedantic about being 12th or 10th place and whatnot. Doesn't matter in the long run.

Only thing I disagree on is your being way to harsh on superstars. The thing that confused me was they didn’t not capture the n64 magic like what. I am sure they did and even more uncessary stuff like having different music on the last 5 turns when it was not needed makes the game have more magic. Good Mario party yes and it’s better than 1 due to it being the first one and missing mechanics 4 because of its floating metal board designs and infinites and places to get trapped in on boards 5 because of the lackluster item system. Put superstars above 1 4 and 8 and I agree.

Also this is just me but having a complaint against the ui is pretty petty in my opinion. If your judging the game by its blandness than one would look at the artstyle and such not a ui. That just seems like something really petty to complain about but anyways great video. Surprised to see Mario party 10 not in last.

Pretty good vid. Super disagree with a ton of it, but as you said, it’s all subjective. Mario Party 9 > all the Gamecube games except for 1.

@@Kyler360 I think it’s great for casuals. Like, while I do prefer traditional Mario Party more, I think MP9 is so much more fair to newcomers with the constant give and take of ministars, making it feel like everyone has a chance until the very end… usually. ai actually hated the game at first, but once I got over the massive change of the style of game, I really enjoyed it for what it was. I’d still rank it as low, as like, 7th or 8th, but I think far better than people give it credit for…. unlike Super which we agree is 🗑️

@@Kyler360 Hey I respect the respect. I can't argue with those who find it the worst (cause I agree, the luck factors WAY too much in a lot of cases and if you get Bowser's revolution at the end, the ONLY thing that matters in the whole board is the boss fight....) but there are really cool elements like Magma mine being a genuinely fun board that uses the mechanic well. and it DID introduce the 4 player boss fights which I thought were charming, especially as each board had different themes for the bosses gameplay wise. I don't rate it the worst (4 is probably the worst IMO as the item system is the worst by far and it has my least favorite board in the series, Koopas seaside soiree), but it's not one I generally go back to.

Honestly 8 sucks. Its ugly, boring, terrible minigames and literally everything from hitting your dice block to playing minigames has to be motion controls. The boards are good but everything else sucks
