The older movies just had a more hard hitting message for us. Monster high is giving the “monsters of society” a voice and a place to feel understood. Ghouls rule really hit different for me and I don’t think any of the new moves can make me feel as connected as the old ones.

Idk I feel like Boo York was a little deep, with Seth or Pharaohs mother being so controlling and how he was literally going to give up something that actually made him happy up because of how afraid he was of standing up to his mother who literally had so much control over him. You can tell in the movie when he talks he almost sounds like a robot, he sounds so unhappy. I feel like the message is that one you can’t control your children and two, if it makes you happy then do it, stand up for your happiness and not just to please everybody (this applies to Cleo too)

👏🏻 I applaud you. While the MH movies are mostly lighthearted, there is (almost) always a deeper meaning or message. Like parents who don’t listen to what their kids want to do with their life and try to decide for them, or putting on a façade of being someone else to please a crowd but not knowing how that actually feels in your heart (like Catty) I feel like the reason these 2 characters got along so well (and the reason most of us ship the crap out of them) is because while they aren’t going through exactly the same thing, they can still relate to a measurable extent. I’m glad they didn’t make the ending of the movie having them kiss or something that would feel rushed. Their scenes together were perfect. And while they didn’t make their relationship a “romance”, so to speak, it is hinted at in the end when Pharaoh and his mom are finally agreeing, she sees Catty in the background over his shoulder and smirks a bit as if she knows, is enough for me. I would like to add more, but I’ll give you a chance to finish reading this first. Thank you for your time.

I never understood why Deuce doesn't look similar to Viperine, their mothers are sisters so they're cousins but Deuce doesn't have the fangs or the scales that Viperine has. I remember drawing and imaging a sweet screams movie lol. It was about Draculaura, who had a bad day and was feeling down. Ghoulia decided to test a technic to teleport ppl in their heads and they sent a few people tjere. They turn to the sweet scream outfits, and fought some treat inspired evil things and they find the way to fix Draculauras bad day. Then when they come back, they find out that it actually happened irl. They had the same outfits, and they were all the same as in Draculauras mind. They find out, that they need to earn a special candy to frighten up Draculauras day. They needed to do different activities in order to earn it. After trying everything, they get the treat from a golf match with Hoodoo and deuce, and they get themselves back and frighten Draculauras day up. Lol i was 9 at the time :D

Honestly Skull Shores has an incredibly dark plot point. With how it keeps getting mentioned that Frankie is the spitting image of that scientist girl. I think that heavily implies that the scientists girl body- or at least parts of it like her head, were used to make Frankie. That's so interesting, and honestly I kind of wish they would've dove into it more.

Okay, if we’re being honest here, the duo that is Jekyll/Hyde captures my heart and imagination like no other guy, fictional or real. I’m a little ashamed to admit it, but even now my heart flutters just thinking about them. While I’m more fond of Jackson than I am Hyde, their duality and existence within the MH world was a concept that I greedily ate. To give you a picture of how unhealthily obsessed I was with them: I read the MH books back to back about 5 times JUST for Jekyll/Hyde, I replayed ALL of the webisodes and movie scenes in which Jackson/Holt were present, I cried when I got a Jackson doll AND, the icing on the cake, I took the liberty of reading the original text that Jekyll/Hyde is based off. ‘‘Twas quite an adventure...all of this, from a doll franchise. Monster High will forever hold a special place in my heart, and that’s selfishly thanks to 2 special guys who still continue to make me fall head over heels years after the franchise’s “demise.”

@@S33rofv0id and like the love triangle episode in the webisodes and that whole mini plot of the series leading up to spectra being revealed and stuff we could’ve had monster high’s first poly couple with Jackson/Holt and Frankie. There are two reasons why we possibly didn’t get it. 1. Mattel was probably not gonna allow a poly couple in the series seeing how they didn’t let the people explicitly make clawdeen valentine and possibly neighthon and kyomi lgbt 2. In the diaries Jackson and Holt are brothers and they probably didn’t want to feel weird making two brothers fall for the same girl and eventually be in the relationship even though platonic brotherly love exists

Honey. Why do Ghouls Fall in Love? deserves its spot. To this day girls have their fav celeb crushes or those Tik Tok boys with the pretty eyes that they feel like they could marry on the spot. But this movie(even though it came out years before tik tok) reminds us that they're just boys on a screen. They aren't as perfect as they seem, or else why would they hide behind a screen. Anyways, although there are some movies I personally would've swapped places with, this was a good review and it was nice to hear your POV too.

Okay, well, I'ma admit it, I've had a thing for a lot of the MH Mansters. Jackson Jekyll and Holt Hyde and their eccentric attitude/edgy style were EVERYTHING to me. Porter Geist and his "bad boy" attitude held a special place in my heart. Deuce was just so cool and chill, and even though he could've had any other girl, he stayed with Cleo's dramatic ass, I LIVED for it. But for the ones I *REALLY REALLY* fancied, I've always had a thing for Neighthan and Valentine. Neighthan was so chill and sweet, and I always thought the Zombie + Unicorn hybrid was so hot, like a creepy/cute mashup. Then Valentine, OOF, I've always felt his insecurity and how he let that control him, hence why he kept breaking hearts, so relatable. Then his style, fancy and he wore pink, I LIVED for that. AND Valentine's voice just did something to me, I don't know why, but it did and still does. BUT, that being said, my number one Manster will ALWAYS be Pharaoh, Catty's love interest from 'Boo York'. He could rap/he had a great voice, he was energetic, loyal to Catty, his style was effing tight, I lived for him and always will, periodt. 💅 And, I think all of us Monster High fans have a soft spot for 'Why Do Ghouls Fall In Love'. It was definitely one of the most memorable movies, and EVERYBODY had some sort of thing for Valentine (including me, lol), he was definitely one of my favorite MH "villains" along with Whisp.

My favorite manster is Kieran Valentine. The coding in his diary just really spoke to me as a closeted man myself. He did things he thought would make him happy or what he thought was love. I myself am a hopeless romantic, so it sort of attributes into why this is one of my favorite movie series (could it be considered that??). I felt like the entire franchise was absolutely incredible at making believable relationships, not only in a romantic ways but the platonic friendships and even sibling dynamics were awesome! My only thing was how Frankie sort of passed over Andy like nothing really happened between them, although her thing with Neighthan was cute! The constant couples, and even those who were just in cameos were adorable! From Lagoona with Gil to Rochelle and Garrot, all of them had fully fleshed out relationships and their own little problems, it dulls all the cringey relationships in Netflix originals even today!

13 wishes is also my favourite. When they rebooted the franchise I hated it. I hated that they did it to me. It felt like such a loss, the original was perfect and I felt like when they rebooted it and ultimately cancelled it a little part of me died. It was so awful. Great characters like Operetta, Ghoulia, Spectra and Howleen just completely vanished, and great characters like Venus and Toralei were completely butchered. I want them to return to the original and just act as if this strange reboot never happened.
