Oh my goodness gracious, it's here: EPISODE 100 of Mortal Kombat Monday! I wanted to do something big, something HUGE to celebrate such a momentous occasion, and I think today's topic fits the bill. I've never done anything like this before, so this is a first. Tiermaker videos are (were?) all the rage, and you guys have asked for something like this for a long time, so let's do it: I'm going to rank every single fighter in Mortal Kombat history on. I'm sure some of you will agree, some of you will be very upset, and others won't care at all. Be sure to let me know which category you fall into in the comments below, hahaha. The franchise that gave Ian and 616Entertainment the popularity and badassery it has now and we have now reached 100 episodes. Let’s enjoy this moment together and enjoy the MK awesomeness here with every character ranked. We all have our favorites and are all different on who we love. So let’s respect who everyone loves or hates. There’s no right or wrong here. Only we know what we love and hate. For me, I love the ninjas the most, Scorpion and Sub Zero being my top 2, but the Shaolin Monks, Kung Lao and Liu Kang come very close and are definitely on my top 5. I’m glad you put D’Vorah as high as you did. I know a lot of people hate her for what she’s done in the MK story modes but she’s my favorite out of the kharacters introduced in MKX. Of course, I had no doubt that Sub-Zero (my favorite out of the entire series as well) was going to make the top tier.

Noob saibot should be S tier for everything he did as the 1st sub zero. I don't think kuai liang gets to take credit for bi han's actions. Bi han killed the earth gods, defeated quan chi and shinnok, and was the one who had the original rivalry with scorpion. His arch from an uncaring assassin who unwittingly put the realms in danger, to someone remorseful for his actions who was considering turning his life around only to be killed soon after, to being fully corrupted in the netherrealm by the forces of evil he had just defeated to save the realms, is a tragic storyline that is top tier.

Love the list , and congrats on 100 MK vids. Just a few opinions I wanted to share as a long time fellow MK fan. Kung Lao I think should make the Great Tier due to his connection to the Great Kung Lao. One of the most badass characters in the Mortal Kombat Lore that never got that representation in the games until the end of MK11 Aftermath. Also, the "jealous of Liu Kang" thing was something relatively recent, right? I know they had snippets of it in MK Shaolin Monks, but that game also gave us Liu Kang the Lasik specialist randomly mutilate Jade. So, Shaolin Monks should be taken with a grain of salt. Chameleon (male) should be in The F%cking Worst Tier because he brings absolutely nothing as a character. He has ZERO storyline (at least Khameleon (female) had the Zaterran race thing going for her, as bare as it was. He isn't even really a character gameplay wise either. He is like if MK Trilogy was a character. There is no story, no new unique characters, just a collection of what already existed in one. You take the palette ninjas away from Chameleon and there would be absolutely nothing remaining. Briefly about the Hanzo/Scorpion thing. Yes, they got rid of Hanzo and the Younger angrier Scorpion is left behind. But, I wouldn't say the character growth is gone. More like, set back a bit. Remember one of Hanzo's last actions was to convince his younger half to let go of the hate and anger because it will led to nothing but suffering for him. Scorpion has it all click for him when he returns to the Fire Garden and see's that he can start over and rebuild his lost clan without revenge. So maybe, in a future MK game we see a much younger, in his prime Hanzo that learned to understand himself sooner. Reiko, not saying you should move him, he's fine. But, I think if you add his MK X Comics storyhe becomes a much better character. Also, he bedded Mileena and walked away without an unintended vasectomy. Great video, wanted to say what's up and offer my 2 cents because I like hearing your perspective on MK and its lore. Keep handling your business regarding the awesome era that was the late 80s and 90s decade 💪

Nightwolf is great. The moveset, (shoulder dash, projectile reflector, etc.) And he was the only person that could stop the legend of the streets, Sindel. Kung Lao as just good is the right call at the end of the day.

When I look at your top and bottom I can’t really argue with it. It’s pretty much exactly what my top and bottom tiers would look like. 100 Baybay! (Well now you gotta tier every Fatality! ;) I'll also say it's hard for new fighters to make their mark compared to the classics everyone loves. For Mortal Kombat, after the original trilogy, the only new fighter that made a splash was probably Kenshi from 5 and that's it. One of the reasons I love MKX is because it brought in the best new characters in a looooong time.

I'm actually surprised but I completely agree on Taven! I like Armageddon back then but becoming full into the lore I am disappointed they kept trying to make protagonists that weren't nearly as interesting as the star cast. Him and his family became the McMahons and McMahon-Helmsley show honestly! I don't care about what happens to him in a potential Armageddon, what is gonna happen to our favorites?? But each time it has to be "Oh it was him who matters most all along!" and the curtain keeps getting pulled further with each new protagonist and bad guy.

Kung Lao should be GREAT, because you can throw the HAT at the enemy! :) He is also a kind of combination between Liu Kang and Rayden (TORPEDO + TELEPORT). I also liked his def ability (SPIN move). You would rate him GREAT if you had learnt those moves on AMIGA version of MK2 and used spin attack each time your bro tried to hit you :)

CORRECTION: Shujinko actually redeemed himself in Deception, if you finished the arcade mode with him (I recommend unlocking his moves first), you'll get the canonical ending of Deception with Shujinko defeating Onaga by absorbing the power of every character.

It’s pronounced Rai-Co, not Rico. Rico was with Billy and Chuck 😂 besides that I’d say our lists are almost entirely the same. I would have Goro as the Fucking Best just because he was really the face of Mortal Kombat in the arcades. If someone was fighting Goro the entire crowd would gather to watch, the fact he was a clay model too and not a person made him stand out so much as well. I do agree that he does the job way too often nowadays but he’s right there with Scorp and Sub as one of the most visually identifiable characters in gaming.
