America and Russia S tier Sweden, Germany, China, and Israel A tier Italy and France B tier Britain and Japan C tier America and Russia are obviously the best, they have the most complete lineups, redundant vehicles, and lots of really good machines Sweden, Germany, China, and Israel all have stand out OP weapons that really shine, but lack the sheer completeness of the USA/RU lineups Italy and france are kinda meh but both have standouts. Italy with the addition of Hungary has become much stronger. Britain and Japan are the worst, objectively. Both have powerful WW2 planes, good navies, but both have TERRIBLE ground forces, even at top tier their ground forces are generally the worst, both had the worst top tier planes as well until very recently, now with UK getting the Grippen and Japan getting the F15/16 they arent as bad.

What i liked about the Sweds is the different designes and playstyles of the planes, compared to the big nations, it might be hard sometimes because of lackluster performance but it feels refreshing after playing the same aircraft over and over again.

Israel is a great choice for someone who wants to get to american top tier planes fast. That being said there are some gems in there like the Kfir C7, Kurnass 2000 and most importantly the ayit. The cas they get is also among the best in the game. A spitfire that gets potent bombs and rockets, the a4e but it gets a gbu8 and the ayit with guided bombs and mavericks at 9.3. With the kurnass 2000 and f16d for top tier theyre very well off.

Swedish planes don’t normally have 12.7mm guns, they have 13.2mm guns. The guns are ridiculously powerful, and the J-22B has four of them, and they do almost as much damage as 20mm guns for some reason. The J-22B is great to fly, and the first jet, the A21-RB isn’t too bad either, although that loses the 13.2mm guns in favour of the worse-in-every-way 12.7mm ones. A Tier - Sweden main

Early italian TT suffers from terrible armament, the 12.7mm Breda-SAFAT guns are just a worse, slower firing version of the .50cal M2 Browning, and while at rank 1 that isn't a huge problem, it becomes much more apparent in rank 2 until you finally reach rank 3 where italian planes start using the german MG151, which at that point it becomes a turkey shoot. I also really love the P108 bombers and how they have two remote controlled turrets at the wings, though they don't work very well with how manual targeting works, and especially not after the AI gunners nerf. While Italy doesn't have that many domestic jet aircraft, the ones they do have are insanely fun. I have had some of my most favourite dogfights in the G91, the Sagittario is wayy over-BRed but fun when you do well, and the AMX is probably the most powerful CAS plane at it's br in the game (though i think the A-4E takes the cake with guided bombs at 8.7).

The Chinese planes that are unique to the tech tree are usually excellent, such as the American export fighters like the CW-21 and the indigenous designs like the J-7II and J-7E, which are upgraded and redesigned MiG-21s respectively, and the J-5 (Shenyang F-5 in game) if premiums are counted in this list. Also, I agree with the "best of both worlds" argument, for it is exactly why it was the second nation I grinded.

I chose america because I have a bunch of model airplanes and most of them are American. Made it a lot of fun. Personally I think Britain would be the all around best, good aircraft at pretty much every BR. Not amazing, but good

The SK60 is amazing, the J29 is amazing for some playstyles, same with the J35D, and the everyone knows the grippen is one of the best top tier planes

As much as you say this is solely an opinion. I personally agree alot with this list from a purely subjective level. Putting aside my bias for weeaboo aircraft the reasoning for each of the placements of the nations is very fair and well reasoned.

What would help me really enjoy the British tree more, is if there is more lend lease added as well as more Commonwealth vehicles in land air and sea tech trees (ones that make sense), out of all the factions in War Thunder I personally think if there is a country that is going to have a lot of American vehicles, it'd be the British Commonwealth tree, especially considering they modified what they got to suit their needs more like the Corsairs, Phantoms, Mustangs, Airacobra, Kittyhawk/Warhawk, Fortress, Lightning, Canadair Sabres etc (they could also benefit from some other aircraft like possibly an Australian Mirage which would make more sense to have than a Modern South African Gripen or an Indian T-90) And as a Canadian I'm torn between to play the USA or UK and although I love trying out other nations, ideally I'd love to have a British + American lineup, though I also think the British would greatly benefit of getting more prototype vehicles as well as paper vehicles (and all other nations honestly) and expanding the interwar rank since I also think it's an underrated time period considering the many vehicles during this time period as well as late WW2/early cold war era vehicles, prototypes and projects I also think expanding more on minor nations as subtrees in a larger tech tree like the Czech, Yugoslavian and Polish vehicles in the USSR tech tree or a Visegrad subtree but that's just my opinion, anyhow great video can personally say I do very much agree with your rankings on this one

If you have already grinded out a couple of trees and are getting bored of flying out copy-paste planes that are identical in mulltiple trees, I suggest trying out Britain. Britain has I think the highest number of unique planes and variants in the game that do not exist in other tech trees. Almost no plane in the tree is copy-paste, except like half the propeller premiums lol.

You say Israel obviously starts at rank IV because they do not have that many aircraft. I would argue the reason is that Isreal was founded after WW2 and Rank I-III are WW2 aircraft.

in my opinion as someone who plays ground and air i have a slightly different opinion, its shocking the differences between air and ground USA is still an S Germany id say is an A, lackluster aircraft in rather alot of areas but amazing ground USSR is a S (but the S stands for stalin) Britian is a D, some good aircraft here and there like the spitfires and the harriers (atleast imo) but at top tier if it wasnt for the JAS it wouldnt have one and ground is horrible Japan is either a low S or a very high A, the F16AJ is just a wonderful plane, and most of japans jets are normally better then the american counterparts atleast imo, the Zero is fun but other than that its a lil meh, but it ground is brillant which makes up for it China eh.. i dont know really know much bout it Italy is an A, S in Air but C in Ground so lets go A France is F for france Sweden is a solid A, its ground tree is a lil bit like the italian tree, and the air from my experiance is decent Israel is... B.. Merkavas look cool so i they get cool points

The us in my oppinion are pretty good because they are ok in everything and don't usially fill a nieche and the a36 is VERY good in air rb because u get an airspawn as practically a light fighter

Japan is the first nation I played, the nation I have progressed the farthest it, and also my favorite nation. However, I strongly agree with your B tier ranking. I know many people consider Japan to be amazing just because of their incredible turn fight capabilities and firepower, but fail to realize the massive drawbacks it provides. Any American, German, Soviet, or British plane can outrun and out accelerate nearly any Zero or Ki in the Japanese tech tree. This means that as long as you are playing one of those nations and have some semblance of self awareness, you should never really lose to a Japanese aircraft, as you can (nearly) always run away. Japan relies upon your enemies being stupid enough to try to fight you or blind enough that they won’t notice you diving on them. Not only that, every single one of their bombers is lackluster at base bombing to say the least. The G8N1 is the only real decent bomber, as it can take a full base out and has enough guns and amazing climb rate to make interceptors regret loading up the game that day. Japan specializes with many of their bombers in destroying ships with their phenomenal torpedoes. However, you never really run into that many ships in Air RB. Not only that, but the early Japanese jets are really, really painful to learn. The Kikka is possibly the worst first jet to teach you jet combat, the R2Y2s are now overtiered as they have to pretend like that can fight Sabres and Mig-15s (though I still love the R2Y2s), and the Ki 200 is quite fun but insanely expensive. Even with upgraded crews, these planes all have nearly month long repair times, which is utterly insane. Not only that, but the lack of flares until much, much later in the tech tree than most other nations is crippling. I always joke about that there really isn’t an outstanding plane in the Japanese tech tree between the Zeroes and the F-16. However, the main issue with Japan is how vastly different it is to play from every other nation in the game. I recently tried playing another air nation, and it was like all my hundreds of hours playing the Japanese air tech tree suddenly vanished. It really is a tech tree only meant for truly skilled gamers (of which I am not). I still absolutely love it and its planes to death though. So close to getting the T-2!

I’m confused about your rating of US props and bombers; on the whole the US has some of the weakest performing props (only being viable at very high altitudes, lacking turn rates, lacking climb rates, etc.) and their bombers being less protected (whether lower caliber turrets or just less turrets) than most other nations

Idk about you but US bombers are pretty well protected. The routinely high number of .50 cals do well when compared to other TTs with often only getting low calibre MGs

Us prop fighters give you everything you need to fight any other plane. Take the P51D30 for example. It’s fast, and it can get you into trouble quickly if you try to focus the first guy you see at the start. But they can also get you out of trouble very quickly by simply outdiving pretty much anything. I play US props basically like this: if I can’t outrun it, my plane can put dogfight it. If I can’t dogfight it, I can outrun it. If you’re skilled enough and know the enemy plane that you’re fighting, it can be very annoying to deal with a competent American pilot

@@datcheesecakeboi6745 When comparing the 5.3 B-17G to the 5.3 Lancaster Mk I or Mk III, hands down the Lancaster(s). The Lancaster has less speed, yes, but nearly double the climb rate, can carry 1.5x-1.75x the bomb load, and it having less firepower isn’t that much of an issue when 12.7mm turrets do so little damage that using 7.7mm instead wouldn’t change much. You’re playing a bomber in the current state of the game, which means you have no survivability unless you have cannons that can quickly take down fighters. And some bombers, like in the German tech tree, can carry more firepower, better climb rates, and the same bombload with little speed loss (like in the Do 217 E variants).

Putting Israel in C tier is a crime.... Israel does have gaps, but it makes up with those good aircrafts. They have british, American, French and even Soviet made tanks like Tiran 4S in their tech tree. I would give it from B to A tier
