Ground is EASILY A tier and I'd probably argue for Fighting as well. Also Electric is a B for me, because Ground fucks it up, yeah, but if the ground dies, or doesn't come, a strong electric can really dismantle teams. I love the type personally

I actually really like your take on Psychic. Being weak to U-turn AND Knock is brutal, and I feel like there are so many good dark types that shut down offensive psychic spam If I'm drafting a Psychic type, it's because the pokémon is good, not because I feel like "I really need a psychic type on this team".

Im surprised dark isnt further up it feels the most op with mons like roaring moon king gambit knock off etc. Dark even carried a mon with low base stats like lokix and how insane pursuit trap was with tyranitar being the premier switch in vs all the early broken psychic types. Even now dark is so good some ubers teams use dark variations which cant be really said for poison fighting or flying ground also looks super broken arceus ground lando gliscor being subject tested, one of the better tera types probably top 3 between fairy and water tough sell.

I really don't like flying types like the type itself is good but..... Pokemon like gyarados or landerous-t suffers because there are no physical flying stab meant for non bird mons, and to quote someone, "special flying types have to choose between air slash which deals no damage, or hurricane which deals no damage"

Thats totally fair. I went based off of the offensive / defensive capabilities of the type rather than Pokemon that have the type, but if you do it that way, I can see not being as big on flying

I honestly think Steel has been very overrated for a long time, yes its in a vacuum the best defensive type in the game but that means it has an enormous target on its back, a lot of fightings fires and especially grounds are so prevalent in part because steels can't check them reliably, as a result a lot of teams go out of their way to deal with steels which makes them far less valuable. Not that steel is bad by any means but I would go as far as to put it in B tier. Dark and Ground deserve S tier as well imo, both types next to fairy and poison are required on every draft bar none, having something to block volt switch and deal with calm mind stored power sweepers is something every team needs and there are plenty of good ground and darks to go around

Steel is definitely prepped for heavily when it comes to what teams draft regarding counters to it, but IMO that speaks to how valuable it is Darks and grounds definitely good, and maybe I was a bit stingey with handing out my A tiers. I could see myself moving both up if I did this again!

I do agree steel is overrated, but I think it can’t be lower than a tier. Also, people don’t use dark to stop the gimmick that it calm mind stored power sets, dark is S tier because all dark types have stab on the 97.5BP move known as knock off, which also removes the item of an opponent. dark is also good for being immune to psyspam, prankster, and being the only ghost resist. However I don’t think it is definitely S tier as it is resisted by fairy which is a very common typing.

I mean you are right about steel being overrated and it having definitive weaknesses, but it is still the best defensive type at the end of the day. Not only that, but being the better type to hit fairy for super effective (other one being poison) is what makes it just that much better. Add the fact that steel is the only type to resist dragon type attacks, with only fairy being immune to dragon type attacks, makes steel very strong. It is overall a very good type and has good synergy with almost every type in the game both offensively and defensively, so it could arguably be S, but it wouldn't make sense to put it anywhere lower than A when it checks so many types by simply existing.

Had to stop watching after fire was put in the same tier as grass. My objectively better list is: S- dragon, fairy, steel A- water, electric, ghost B- fire, flying, ground, C- psychic, dark, fighting, grass (only bc of powder immunity) D- poison, rock, normal, ice F- bug (also my fav but a horrible mono typing) . Edit: skipped to the end, how is poison and fighting above electric and fire…

S - Fairy, Water, Steel A - Dragon, Fire, Ground, Ghost B - Dark, Electric, Fighting, Flying C - Grass, Psychic, Normal, Rock, Poison D - Ice, Bug Ice is that low because it has horrible defensive synergy with almost every type, and most ice pokemon are designed to be bulky for some reason, and its good offense isn't enough to redeem that weakness imo. I don't think any type in the game is F tier, that's why I put bug and ice in the same tier despite ice being better imo.

Fire has 6 resistances and is one of the few types to hit steel for super effective, as well as being one of the few types to resist fairy type attacks. It checks 2 of the strongest types in the game. Same with ground, but ground is the more offensive version of fire imo. Both are solid types that keep other high tier types in check.

I think dark and poison are some of the strongest B tiers to be honest. I could maybe see it being on the level of flying, but I value that defensive immunity a lot. I wouldnt be mad if somebody put fire B

It has 6 resistances and hits 4 types for super effective, which are more than most other types. I think it's an above average type since it has good match ups against the 2 strongest types in the game's history, so it deserves A.
