Great information. I collected during the junk wax era, mid 80's to mid 90's. Started collecting again for fun, and its hard ti know what to get with so much stuff out there now, I greatly appreciate the video.

Man you're telling me! The fact that all these sets also have their own super deep checklists with inserts, parallels, case hits, autos, relics, etc. etc. its so hard to keep track of it all

Agreed. People who say it's Junk Wax 2.0 are wrong. Most things will be worth way less but the serialization of cards mean there will always be something that is a cool chase, most just won't hold value but people love the risk of maybe they could pull the case hit or 1/1

Thanks for the very informative video. I just started following baseball cards when 2024 Cosmic Chrome was released and think it is a supper fun rip to watch here on KZbin. As each new product was released, I was wondering just how many different Topps sets there are and what should I consider collecting. I will definitely give Stadium Club a look as I like the photography and the chance for an autograph.

Yes! Stadium club is a great value in that a hobby box has 2 guaranteed autos which is fantastic

I think you and I are similar in our opinions. I like the chrome and update chrome parallels. Stadium Club was also a fun rip this year. Triple Threads was a Christmas gift, but buying singles is the way to go on most of the upper end stuff. Nice video. Thanks for doing it.

Agree with you on a lot of these points, though I've never been able to do the more high-end rips. Stadium Club usually ends up being my favourite of the year. It's especially awesome when you can find blasters on sale at Walmart (here in Canada anyway). $20 for a blaster of 2022 Stadium Club? I'll do that every day. Even if you don't get a hit it's still a great bang for your buck.

This past year was my first in the hobby I think my favorite was the bowman blasters or the update hanger boxes. Interested in trying a hobby box at some point but they just are so expensive it's hard to justify at this point in the hobby for me

Flagship factory set and update, chrome and stadium club are my jam. Getting into cosmic chrome but I think stadium club is becoming my favorite.

Stadium club to me is just the best bang for your buck. The factory set is cool but really only targeted at those who want the complete set, since there's not really any variance I didn't count it as a set

I’ve just started collecting whole team sets for the Mariners. My team. and I can get a whole team set most of the time for less than the cost of a single pack of Chrome.

I have decided to skip Topps Flagship this year and focus on Topps Chrome. I will get Bowman/Bowman Chrome if I like the design. Otherwise, it has all gotten too pricey, pre-orders sell out too quickly for the average collector to get product, because it happens when most of us are at work, the quality of the cards seems to be getting worse. I have been collecting for 41 years as of this summer and what has been happening lately with the product, the hype and the pricing reminds me of the Junk Wax Era. I appreciate your input and hope that things get back to sanity soon!

Can't blame you, while $90 for hobby isn't terrible considering other products, no guaranteed auto at that price, for what would be a paper auto at best generally is definitely tough

Really great info - we all need our opinions and I like your takes - my hot take is why are the most valuable cards those with players photo shopped into uniforms? I understand it’s due to the “first” uniqueness and I do get why bowman is so cool - putting all these prospects on cards is cool but to me a photo shopped card shouldn’t be the most valuable . I am not buying it long term - and wish bowman was cheaper set , esp draft , because it is cool to get those prospects on a card . But a first auto bowman being the most valuable card for a player , which IS the current reality besides 1/1s , is strange . I guess to each his own!!

Topps Gallery, Gypsy Queen, Chrome Saphire

Gallery and Gypsy queen have been axed unfortunately. Another one they got rid of was Fire which would have been rated very highly. I noted that the chromes and bowman all have a sapphire variant but in my mind that's the same set just different parallels so I didn't separate it

I personally love it. I’m currently going as far back as 1980 and doing factory sets and update complete sets.

I'm glad they still make it, but I don't think it's one for huge value given there's no variance really. It's a complete set, not a box with chances. (I know there are the gold star SP or whatever but generally you're not buying the set to "rip" you're buying it for a complete set

I personally really enjoy archives!! I think it's a really fun rip but it just gets hurt when it comes to market value which for a lot of people matters. If you're just ripping for fun this list is very different!

Where do you feel my rating was wrong? I feel like it's fairly available with retail and hobby but print run isn't huge, price point is solid but compared to its market value that's where it got dinged a little bit. Fun probably where you could boost it the most but in my mind the quirkiness is a fun gimmick but doesnt lead to sustained fun when ripping.
