I’m a new subscriber and I really enjoyed this video! This list was really good and I agree with it. Klaus, Katherine, and Damon are my top 3 favorite villains in The Vampire Diaries. No Humanity Stefan was a huge surprise ngl. I would have put Enzo on at least top 10-15 in my opinion because of his story/ redemption with Bonnie even tho technically he really wasn’t a main villain or villain at all but I considered him at least an anti-hero. I just finished The Vampire Diaries and now I’m on The Originals following Legacies after that. Looking forward to future videos!

Also, one more thing, Kai Parker was to a great character, because if he wasn't, he wouldn't have returned for the series finale and in Legacies, so not only is he one of the greatest characters ever, but he's one of the greatest villains ever, and his backstory was great, that's my opinion, you're just to blind to see it

In my opinion, Kai should rank higher when it comes to villains. The characters you listed above him are good, but are they really better villains? I’m not so sure. One reason I rate Kai so highly is that season 5 was extremely boring, and I almost dropped the show. But his character in season 6 brought back my interest. Kai had one of the biggest impacts on the story, influencing both the characters. His backstory was solid, and he was really well-written. He’s also one of the few villains who actually stays evil. Klaus, Katherine, Damon, and Kol all eventually turned good or had their actions justified. And while that worked for their arcs, the fact that Kai never had that makes him an even better villain. I like Elijah and Rebekah, but the fact that they’re well-written characters shouldn’t have such a big impact on how they’re ranked as villains. That’s just my opinion. Overall, though, great video.

@@Faceless1andonly Obviously, a character who appears in multiple seasons will be more developed. Klaus had three seasons, giving the writers plenty of time to expand his story. Stefan’s villain arc was built up over the first two seasons, and the fact that he started as a good guy only made his dark side hit harder. Meanwhile, Kai was a one-season character with no prior buildup, yet he still worked amazingly as a villain. I’m only writing this because it’s a ranking of villains, and seeing Kai at 9th place hurts a little. Sure, the characters ranked above him are better written, but most of them are main characters with way more screen time and some of them weren’t even villains for most of the time.

Are you kidding me ? , Rebekah was to a villain, she my favorite out of all of them, she literally killed Elena, she almost killed Caroline, she killed Alaric , she almost killed Matt, she tortured the hell out of Stefan and Damon, she gloated the fact that she killed Alaric , right in front of Elena, also she set Elena on fire, so she definitely classified as a villain

@@MarvinMoore-q3t Did you ignore the video when I said Rebekah does messed up things but has valid reasons to do it. Why did Rebekah kill Alaric? Why did she kill Elena? Why did Matt almost died? What was she supposed to do, stand still and die. This is also the same Rebekah in the exact scene that she was bragging about Alaric, saved Elena’s life without needing to, she also saved Elena’s life again on the island, she was also the only person that cared enough about Stefan during his depression in season 4. Both the Salvatores wanted to wipe out all the originals including Elijah who hadn’t done anything, this was just to kill Klaus. Elena committed genocide to get the cure and technically protect Jeremy from Kol. Are the Salvatores villains is Elena a villain. Elena killed Kol and 10s of thousands of people and then tried to manipulate Stefan to daggering Rebekah just to get the cure. This same Rebekah still saved her life and didn’t attempt to kill her after Elena killed her brother and tried to have her daggered. Elena also tried to kill her at the island because she got upset. You need to learn what “morally grey” characters are. Pretty much all of the main characters excluding Caroline were “morally grey”. Elena, Damon, and Stefan make just as evil decisions that Rebekah makes for very valid reasons

Klaus is the best character in the verse, hands down, no further thoughts given. He’s always been my favourite by far since I watched as a teen back when it aired on TV.. I started rooting for him instead of the main good characters 😂 He’s arguably one of the best dual [antagonists/villain and main characters] in 2010s TV, the only character that rivals him imho is Octavia Blake from The 100 - especially when you consider they both are CW characters in YA shows who are not from a book adaptation, but actually both could hold up just compared to any character on other networks. I respect your choice of Ripper Stefan as #2, they could have made a whole season of him and Klaus. I wish the Originals was set in the past, it was the main reason I didn’t watch past part if season 1 at the time. I just found your channel and really enjoyed your video 👍

Also i see you also make GoT videos, i think you’d enjoy the 100 if you’re looking for a show to watch. the first few episodes are very CW YA but then clearly the show got approved and the writers went IIIN, they really said don’t get attached to anyone. The character writing is on point with deep backstories and multi-season arcs. The villains are so good, the acting is strong from everyone, they action and plot move at a great pace and the show does not have useless love triangles and teen drama. Oh also the lore makes sense and is really complex but builds overtime coherently.

Look at the end of s4 she even offered the cure to Stefan and said she deserved it way more than she did. I still loved her tbh, idk about you. Also becoming a vampire amplifies your emotions it makes you feel so different. . I'm just saying I love her and always will But I hope you make that idea because I don't get what you mean she changed, everyone changes, she literally made the ultimate sacrifice at the end of s6, and told bonnie to live her life to the fullest and write all their adventures in a diary so one day when she wakes up she can read all about her friends lives. She did this so she would've feel guilty for what happened and to make sure she lived her life. She was always a hero and sacrificing herself and putting herself in danger to protect the people she loves. But pls make that idea, she really is an amazing character and people downplay her for no or stupid reasons imo. Try living the life she lived and see how you would make choices under so much pressure, don't talk until you've been in her shoes and experienced what she did. Not pointed to you just saying.

@ They tried to use the vampires amplify your emotions but it doesn’t just amplify negative emotions, the first thing you notice about Elena isn’t her being controlling or ruthless/psychotic, it’s the goodness in her, that’s why Elijah was so fond of her and dubs her as “lovely” even though Elena daggered him, she tries to help in the best way she can without causing collateral damage. That Elena killing 10s of thousands of people knowingly makes no sense and makes her exactly like every villain. Every villain has a reason to do what they did. But all of this is because Julie Plec became the main showrunner after Kevin Williamson left at the end of season 2 and at the start of season 3 and you would notice the drastic change in her character between season 2 and season 3. The only problem I had with Elena was that she was nosey but she was never selfish in fact it was the other way around, she was the most self-less character on screen along with Bonnie. This is a problem that started because Julie Plec was itching to make Delena to happen, which I did as well but to do that she either has to make Damon good and take Elena’s qualities (canonically make sense) or make Elena bad and take Damon qualities (which doesn’t make sense). She went with the second option, which caused a ton of contradictions not only in past decisions and statements Elena has made but Elena’s character as a whole. It got to the point that Ian Sommerhalder had to cry to Julie Plec to change his characterisation but she refused. Like think about it Damon tried to kill Jeremy in season 5 and Elena just did not care, how?

Also also, I’ve been talking about TVD for over a year and based on popularity I can assure you waaaayyyyyy more people know Seline than the people I said were forgettable. I talk about these people all the time and most fans are confused about who they were and what they did. Most don’t know Markos was the one that casted the doppelgänger love spell, people just assume it’s Qetsiyah. I never said it is the same for everyone, I just said most as far as I have noticed.
