A good review for sure, but, really, you're are only ever going to scratch the surface here in the UK. With many of the comments on your content, it's that familiarity thing. A lot of us have already seen so much of the UK, past and present, I think most here are now indifferent to all the good and bad around us. If we can't emigrate, we are here forever! Your a young gun, fair enough, you need to see these places, definitely. Trip wise, it's more non UK I want to see more of. Maybe you could collaborate with someone on your foreign trips, a local, like a guide, like hiring a cheapo taxi driver. Here, or on social media, you might be able to make contacts. Keep it up, whatever you do. ✔️🇬🇧👍💯😎

I've also visited many cities, and lived in 3, and the one ranking I disagree with most is regarding Bristol. I spent 3 years there at Uni and on the whole it's a prestigious and architecturally beatiful city, also with some arty and bohemian areas, which makes it very interesting. The natural setting of all the hills adds to the beauty too, with parts of the city split by hills and valleys, with some of the colourful Montpellier houses for example sitting picturesquely on a steep green hill. Really noticed in one time after a very late night / very early morning walking home in the bright dawn light, with that view and not a sole to distract me. The weather really is better down there too. I think it was Stephen Merchant who said that Bristol is like the San Fransisco of the UK. I'm not sure if he was entirely serious, but there are many similarities, which I can attest to having also had the pleasure and priviledge of visiting San Fransisco. The bohemian, creative, arty feel, the beatiful natural setting of the hills, along with the waterfront / bay settings, being some of the positives, and some of the negatives are the same too with the enormous homeless problems. And many other comparisons too. Where I lived in Eastville must have had a crackhouse near by, and there were prostitutes outside our house sometimes, or at the end of the street. So yeah it was a bit seedy to say the least. But so interesting! Nearby Easton and St Pauls had considerably worse reputations than Eastville. I heard recently that things in Easton have got really very bad with drugs, especially crack users and addicts, ravaging the area badly. That's sad and concerning if that is the case! After uni, I've lived in Manchester for almost 30 years and it has changed so much in that time period. It's been through hard times between the 70s - 90s, and large areas were basicall GRIM :- impoverished, scruffy, litter strewn, run down, empty, derelict, ugly etc. It was so bad for a period up until the mid 90s when the transformation began following the IRA bomb in the city centre in the mid 90s, and then some more improvements for the commonwealth games in 2002. And then since then teh transformation has been astonishing with the incredible growth of all the apartment blocks in the city centre. Love them or hate them, the transformation has been astonishing. Yes there are lots of rough areas, loads of homeless people, but fortunately the underclass seems to be shrinking or getting displaced to the rougher estates where I don't go. Unless you want to be surrounded by crackheads looking for what they can steal.

Everywhere in the city shuts at 12 and is ridiculously expensive and South East London has been completely ignored, no nightlife, 1 s***y crossing with lots of traffic all the time and a high crime rate - lovvvvely. Interesting that you put Cambridge at the top. Don't get me wrong Its quite pleasant down by the river in the summer time and mostly quite a safe city, but other than that there's really not much to do here if your someone visiting. I have been to most of the major cities in England and I would say from my personal experience Manchester is one of the best, as it's one of the biggest and thers lots to do there, also nothing is too expensive. Hotels were pretty cheap as were pubs resterants ect, and you don't have all the extra charges like London has (ulez and very expensive parking ect.). You also have the peak distrct and Sheffield within an hour or so drive of manchester which beats any of the national parks near london in my opinion
