Man I feel like the Daisy Circuit disconnect is a generational thing, I find everything about that course to be so iconic, the music, the statues, the sunset, the coloring of the buildings, the lighthouse, it’s just immaculate vibes all around and I have fond memories of it

To be fair, nostalgia shouldn’t have to carry a track. I never grew up with Wii, but even the non-iconic tracks like Moonview Highway still ranked really highly for me. Circuit is a bit too over-scaled for my liking; the best way to play it is in 200cc. Anything else is just kinda alright

Man it legitimately sucks a lot of people doing these rankings online aren’t a fan of Daisy Circuit, I love it BECAUSE of its vibes, theme and music, the layout isn’t everything for a track, sometimes those other aspects can make it just as enjoyable as ones with crazy setpieces and gimmicks

If they want to get better, they can play the first cup of the game to get a feel for the game or the other basic coursesthe game has. Wave 6 was possibly the strongest of the waves for me. Still disappointed Double Dash's Rainbow Road didn't make it (best rainbow road in my opinion) but Wii is a good consolidation prize.

Wave 6 is very enjoyable. It might be new toy syndrome, but Wii Rainbow Road and SNES Bowser Castle 3 are perfect! I was surprised with how great BC3 in particular ended up being. I make the comparison to Boo Lake from Wave 3: a rather simple-ish SNES/GBA track that got the 8 glow up and goes so hard

DK Mountain also appeared in Wii, which had 12 players and, while they did widen it, it was not as much as in this edition. It definitely happened because it was released on mobile devices, and Mario Kart 8's dlc passes suffered quite a bit from this IMO.

Always look forward to these videos! Before I watch I loved Bowsers Castle and Rainbow Road. S Tier tracks and the music is amazing and I’ll say it since Ash isn’t here. DK mountain a classic but it feels like Coconut Mall and Maple Treeway where it’s nice to see it modernized but doesn’t do much really unique. Piranha Plant Cove is so weird as it’s not super special but it’s calm and the different laps makes it refreshing.

The reason why the Booster Course Pass tracks are wider is to be more 200cc-friendly. The track design in the next Mario Kart might do the same thing with by having wider tracks.

I'd say it's more so because these tracks were made for a mobile game with less precise controls. The map was already modified for Wii with 150cc and was not that difficult, so I don't think 200cc would have needed more size than the Wii version. Note that Wii had 12 players too, and the Tour version is even wider than Wii, which is in turn wider than Double Dash.

@@leonro The Booster Course Pass versions of the tracks are even wider than they were in Tour. The base 48 tracks were made with 150cc in mind which made a lot of tracks really painful for 200cc, which is why nobody plays 200cc.

The retro cups in the base game of the next Mario Kart will probably focus exclusively on tracks which have yet to be remade (not counting SNES tracks in Super Circuit). So Airship Fortress can only make it as DLC which means that you'll have to wait for even longer time to see it happening.

Kinda sad about the Daisy Circuit ranking. I'd honestly rank it B since it's a really good track. It's simple but like sometimes a good Mario Kart track is just all about the simplicity and vibes. It's why nearly every other circuit track in the series pales in comparison to Daisy Circuit, like the SNES ones don't have a distinct identity or a good vibe or music to lift it up. Plus sometimes simple tracks with good aesthetics are effective enough, like Rosalina's Ice World is more crazy with its layout but because of that it's also the second worst track in this entire game next to Sky High Sundae

My tier list after playing the tracks 1 time lol: Rome- A (biased as I’ve been to the city and it’s cool to see; love it) DK Mountain- A (almost a B cause of the shortcut being slightly botched, but it’s iconic) Daisy Circuit- B (just a nice track) Piranha Plant Cove- B (not as keen on it as Yoshi’s Island and SCS, but still a beautiful track) Madrid- B (a high B, but my Rome bias is strong enough to knock it down a tier lol) Rosalina Ice World- B (the remix is worth this tracks addition, just a solid one to play) BC3- A (just an insane experience, just a crazy track to play) Wii RR- S (the perfect way to end the whole DLC) This might be my favourite wave overall, pipping wave 4. No bad tracks imho

I would rank them as follows 8) Pirahna Plant Cove (Good track, just a bit forgettable and doesn’t have much to make it stand out imo) 7) Madrid Drive (Again, good track but with the city tracks in general I just feel not a lot of them does much to stand out from each other, with a few exceptions) 6) Rome Avanti (…again, good track. Same reasons as Madrid but this time the Coliseum really makes it stand out more) 5) Daisy Circuit (now, I love this track on Wii but I just think there’s something about this version that feels a bit off for me) 4) DK Mountain (Disappointed me a bit at first, was a bit forgettable and I’ve never been a MASSIVE fan of this track but after a few goes on it I really like it) 3) Rosalina’s Ice World (This one was a sleeper hit for me, I think it just races so well and feels very fun and I am a sucker for icy themed tracks) 2) Bowser Castle 3 (This one surprised me the most, I never had much expectation for this but I think it’s just so fun and it looks gorgeous too) 1) Rainbow Road (This track has always been one of my favourites in the series and imo the best rainbow road. Now, this version doesn’t quite live up to the hype of the original but it’s still a tonne of fun, something feels slightly off imo but doesn’t detract from just how good it is)

I can’t help but be a little sad that Rainbow Road feels a bit different. The more grid like design loses a bit of the OG charm and they add a lot of extra guard rails where the OG has very few guards from falling. That being said this has always been and remains my favorite Mario Kart course

Rome Avanti is really the only track that is meh to me, it only because it’s basic compared to to the rest of the tracks. Even tho, I liked Rosalina’s Ice World,and Daisy Circuit, I could see why you guys ranked it lower as a C or B, but other than that every track is a banger and is so replayablility. The end credits is sooo good to see, and I’m gonna miss the hype of MK8 since 2014 even if the game had overstayed its welcome by now. To think I was in 6th grade when MK8 came out makes me feel old, and I hate it.

I think SNES is getting Shafted all the time, only 2 tracks and 1 was weak. GBA got lots of love, Wii was the golden child with 8 tracks, N64 was only the first 2 waves. DS had good representation. GCN didn't show up til 2nd half of the dlc. 3DS was alright
