It's time to update my ranking tier list on the Autobot's greatest inventor and the loose cannon… WHEELJACK / PABLO due to the upcoming TRANSFORMERS RISE OF THE BEASTS Movie. IMO The Pablo design is not a bad design. Hell, I'd posit that the design is actually good. However, when you name that design "Wheeljack", that's when the problem arises.

Wheeljack is my Dads favorite transformer as a kid. Really like his character design, personality, car mode, light up feature and the inventions he made. He was really really disappointed when I showed him the new design in the new movie

You know I was slowly starting to warm up to ROTB Wheeljack's design despite me still preferring his Bumblebee look in general, but that "Rizz Pablo" poster kinda brought him back down to goofy ahh meme status.

Calling Pablo “Pablo” would’ve been a smart idea instead of making him Wheeljack. I know Pablo is a human name, but the have been live action Transformers that have human name. Such as Que. he got the name from a human from a tv show.

Downsize the glasses, make the ear-antenna things more prominent, change the lower face design (nose and mouth don't really work), and Pablojack works incredibly well. I don't mind the glasses (as long as they don't pull the stereotypical 90s "uhm, ackshually" shtick), and honedtly making them goggles could be even cooler.

Since Prime was the show that really made me love Transformers, I will always think of the dual katana wielding wrecker before the scientist/inventor, but that's just me.

The Dark of the Moon overall design and Rise of the Beasts robot mode design are honestly not bad in their own rights. However, neither should have had the name Wheeljack attached to them.

Crazy theory which will 100% be wrong. Pablo-Wheeljack will have a Clark Kent/Superman scene, where he takes off his glasses and transforms completely, into a super powerful worrior😂

The design we had in the bumble bee movie was genuinely amazing but this is a definite case of just name slapping a character like Pablo being a new transformer would have been pretty nice it would explain the glasses and suspenders he’d literally just be a new autobot who fell in love with humanity and named himself after maybe a human he became friends with

Trying something new isn't that bad of a thing, but you always want to keep some core aspects of the characters you're mixing up so they're still recognizable to the fans that appreciate what came before. There are multiple different styles for even the big name characters, such as Optimus, that still keep a core vision of what the character should be (red chest with windshields, blue helmet, battle mask). For many when it comes to Wheeljack, it's his ear fins and his mask. Many fans show that they don't even mind the totally different color scheme. As you've shown, they've also added on his BBM head onto his ROTB design with the same colors and made it work to wide liking.
