Seriously. Take away HBK-Taker and Jericho-Legends (and really just the ending segment with Jericho-Steamboat) and it's a major disappointment, especially Matt-Jeff and HHH-Orton, both of which had awesome storylines going in and didn't deliver, plus the wrong person won each match.

I totally agree. I actually watched the whole thing today because some people say it was one of the better ones and was totally disappointed. The only match I’d seen prior was HBK-Taker and it turns out I wasn’t missing out too much by not having seen the rest of the show before today

Old guy here. You had to be around live to truly witness how epic it was. Having said that, looking back in hindsight, the ending of the main event was the wrong way to go. Yes it was a shocking moment, but it began the downfall of WWF/E's popularity for the remainder of the 2000's. But up until that point it's the greatest mania of all time.

I hated the mania 39 outcome, but it mightve been the right move looking back.. the way it ended sucked but the right person won, roman hit 1000 days, cody is way more hyped to win it and got way over by beating brock lesnar in the trilogy, he even was winning the tag championships with jey. I hated the outcome but i think its for the better looking back, i hope cody wins this year. Perfect time for that

Ehhh I still disagree. Only reason it's hyped at all this year is cuz of Rock's return and the initial backlash that the original plans got. Had Rock never came back and we were just getting a straight up Cody-Reigns 2 match, people would not nearly be this hyped for it. Even still, you're already starting to see some backlash towards Cody with he's looked like a moron during this buildup. I have a bad feeling people are gonna get bored of him as champion within a few months.

That show epitomizes what the attitude era truly was when peole aren't looking at through rose-tinted colored glasses. Main event scene was great but alot of shit in the mid-card. Nobody remembers that tho.

WrestleMania 25 would go in " Solid " to me because matches before HBK vs Taker were just decent to me except Diva's battle royal💩 and after the classic was Edge vs Cena vs Big Show which was meh until the last 10 seconds and the main event was a flop mostly because the crowds energy was gone after HBK vs Taker

That stupid ass stipulation didn't help the main event either. You have this blood feud which should have resulted in a no DQ match, yet you go the opposite and put shackles on HHH. Made no sense.

It was a different time with different objectives. WM1 was considered a major success, whereas pretty much everyone agrees that WM2 was very underwhelming. I know, bc I'm old.

there was a good number of back to back wrestlemanias in small normal arenas. 10-16 were all in smaller arenas, and like you said 20-22 as well. not to mention 1, 2, and 7.

The explanation for why 26 being only solid is why I could never put 25 in Cream of the crop. I love Takers/Michaels but 25 is lackluster for me. I’d put 24 at the bottom of Cream of the crop/top of very good. It’s such an underrated Mania.

24 is atleast way better than 25 and 26 i think. 25 only had Taker vs HBK and the Mitb Match. 26 the same thing! 24 had a bit more! I think 24-29 is pretty sad to lack back in retrospect. 28 had two great Hyped Matches atleast, but outside of that nothing seriously good at all. 27 and 29 both are terrible.

Edge-Foley was God tier. To me that's the match that made Edge a main eventer. The world title triple threat was short but action packed, even if I still aren't a big fan of Rey being a world champion. Underrated MITB match and HBK-Vince was way more entertaining than it had any right to be (my 2nd favorite Vince match ever behind only him and Hogan at WM 19). It did have it's share of crap on the show for sure (Boogeyman anyone?), but the top matches delivered.

@@167kinggam Really depends on if you are a DB fan or not. Having said that, you can't deny DB-HHH was a damn good match. I actually enjoyed the Andre battle royal with Cesaro slamming Big Show, that was a cool moment. Also, who doesn't like that opening segment with Hogan, Austin, and Rock? Talk about a WrestleMania moment.

Problem is we'd get better tlc matches between those 3 teams and all 3 guys in the triple threat have better matches with each other. So basically there's no point to that Mania. Only thing that could have saved it is if in the main event they had done the ending they wound up doing at Backlash 2000.
