The main reason people don't like UFO is because creators just don't know how to make good gameplay with it. Many people just make ship gameplay and slap a UFO portal on it which makes the part feel really boring, as you said in the video. But some levels like AntiTech Revolution by VXKTXR have really fun UFO gameplay. Just because people are unable to make good UFO gameplay doesn't mean it's a bad gamemode, and some of the levels I've played have really fun UFO parts which is why it is my favorite gamemode

My opinions on gamemodes 8. Swingcopter- I'll probably like it more with time, but so far considering I've played 5 levels with swingcopter in them (2 being my own), it really hasn't stood out to me in any way. 7. Spider- I really like every gamemode, but the spider is the one that feels the most gimmicky of all of them. No gamemode feels like this, as each one feels like either a natural progression of what a gamemode would be (ball and robot), a community idea (ufo and swing), or a super creative concept made by robtop (ship and wave), the spider on the other hand just feels like a gimmick that was made because robtop couldn't think of anything else, it's still a fun mode, just not my favorite. 6. UFO- A very mixed bag in my opinion. I love making either impossible buffs or original levels and the ufo is great for the 2nd, and sucks for the first. Making sync gameplay in easier levels is great with the ufo, while making click patterns is very annoying. Gameplay wise in normal mode it is great, but practicing harder levels with checkpoints is awful. Good gamemode with major kinks. 5. Wave- This is the communities top pick, and I would guess it would be top 3 if I was better at the game, but I just don't like doing hard wave gameplay, as it is my weakest gamemode. It also is one of the hardest gamemodes to create clean gameplay for, and I feel myself often giving up on making wave parts in levels because of this. However, in easier levels it can be very satisfying and fun, and it is such a good concept that I can't help but admire it 4. Robot- Solid gamemode overall, I love it's mini version more than the mini of any other, it is clearly the best platformer gamemode, and it functions well at any speed. Robot feels like the easiest gamemode to make fun satisfying gameplay with no matter what. I've never really ran across a robot part in a level that I found annoying. 3. Ball- It feels really satisfying to pull off clicks, the gravity of it is really easy to catch onto, it's mini is amazing, it is the only gamemode where slopes really enhance it (except wave for obstacles) and it is really fun when used right 2. Cube- Easy to make gameplay for, consistently good, the barebones for the entire game, and has no kinks to it that make it feel unsatisfying or bad, absolute perfection 1. Ship- The gamemode I am personally best at, so a bit of bias here, but it's physics are the cleanest in the game, it's mini is also very good, no matter what speed it feels perfect, and the concept revolutionized the game. It's incredibly easy to build for and just feels like the greatest gamemode overall. The only slight issue I might have with it is orb clicking in ships, as a ship input isn't really a fixed single input in my opinion, but overall it is my clear favorite.

1:36 I would really recommend the level scuffed. It has some really fun ufo gameplay and is the one level which made me like the ufo as a gamemode. (Scuffed it such a banger)

My tier list: 1-Robot: The physics are so good. Basically cube but way more versatile. 2-Ball: Same with robot and usually really fun. 3-Ship: Really versatile and I like it. 4-Cube: OG and usually fun. Good for timings. 5-Spider: I think spider is an average gamemode. Can be good or bad. 6-Swing: This will probably change as time passes but I dont usually see it so I'm not so sure. 7-UFO: Can be good but usually not that good. 8-Wave: I dont think the wave is the worst but its EXTREMELY overrated. Thats why i have beef with it.

tbh you can’t really rank the gamemodes because every one of them works in their own way and is unique and fun. If a gamemode doesn’t have any factual problems (for example you could argue that the swing is too heavy) you can’t really compare it with the others in my personal opinion. Anyway great vid :)

The main reason I have the opinion I have with gamemodes is because of the uniqueness in their movement and how you can use those movements to represent the song. UFO and cube move almost the same way only the UFO can jump without being on a platform. Spider and robot are unique to me: the spider has the most intense movement, making it represent hard-hitting sounds in a song; robot is more versatile than the cube which makes it work for longer notes without being super flowy like the ship or swing.

1. bird (really unapreciated gamemode, i feel like the unique part of the bird/ufo is that you cant really get better at it and its really satisfying to use with fast paced slopes and fast gameplay in general) 2. robot (its really fun gamemode, i really like when its utilized with big jumps paired with small jumps, feels really satisfying, especially when the song has like a long hold and the robot in fast speeds holds w the robot is really cool) 3. spider (really fun gamemode, although some levels decide to make spam which brings it down but nontheless a fun gamemode) 4. cube (fun gamemode, though simple) 5. ball (satisfying gamemode that has lots of potential) 6. ship (i feel like extreme demons kind of ruined the ship gamemode, considering that most ship gameplay in levels is very straight, though some exceptions, kinda ruined it for me though i like when levels use slopes and curvy gameplay is really satisfying) 7. swing (havent used nor played this gamemode alot, i feel like its a hard gamemode to create with, its personally not for me) 8. dart (oh boy this one, this might be the most overrated gamemode imo, its really just boring gamemode, unlike with other gamemodes the dart cant be different, like the ball can be an entirely new gamemode, and the cube can be paired with a green orb, but the dart cant do much)

spider and ball are very similar to me, but fill different niches ball is complicated, allows for interesting movement, feels more precise spider on the other hand feels so fitting for fast songs, for snappy movement and music sync both have their roles and are better at some things vs others. I personally prefer spider just because I like how it feels more than the ball, but in a level I've been working on (only the layout is done) I've used both quite a lot. actually used ball more than spider I think just because of its versatility for longer sections, but I find the spider more enjoyable in short bursts

Can change falling speed for cool gameplay. Mini cube is great) 3. Wave (Good for sync. Great room for improvement at it. Most 'controllable' gamemode. Wish more people used orbs with wave.) 4. Ball (Good for sync, unqiue, good with orbs, love mini ball) 5. Spider (Amazing for sync, fun to use. Sadly not much variation in gameplay.) 6. Robot (Micro clicks are overused. Good gamemode otherwise) 7. Ufo (People use spam with this way too much. Good creators can make amazing ufo gameplay tho. Also technically ufo is the reason the wave gamemode exists.) 8. Swing (Flows nice but the gameplay seems kind of bland to me. Feels like the ship with less control. Also not used in many levels. I prefer the dual ball swing copter.)

My list: 1. Spider, the spider leads to some insanely fun sync gameplay 2. Ball, the ball is literally just so fun to use 3. Cube, the cube is very good at every type of gameplay, from 2* gameplay to top one demon gameplay 4. Ufo, while everyone else hates it, its because everyone sucks at making gameplay with it, the ufo can be used for some really fun and unique gameplay 5. Wave, the wave is pretty good, but everyone else uses the mini wave in making hard gameplay way too much. 6. Robot, the robot is pretty okay, as you can make short jumps and long jumps for interesting gameplay. 7. Swingcopter, the swingcopter feels pretty weird to play, however people have made good gameplay with it. 8. Ship, the ship is, in my opinion, the worst gamemode. It feels so weird and unfun to play, and you cannot make any sync gameplay with it in the slightest

spider is really fun when done right and is great for music sync. wave is can be fun, non-demon levels make it boring, and demon wave parts are choke points. Some levels i've played that have rlly fun wave are Underr (not a spelling error) and Tren 22, maybe only those. wave is overrated imo it's hard to get consistent with it and it's not that special.

In my playing/creating levels here is my list: No.8: UFO. It's clunky and hard to make gp for. No.7:Swing. It is not as clunky as the ufo, but the gp is hard to make. No.6:Wave.Hot take, but the reason why is because the gp is a nightmake to make with slopes. No.5:Robot. All I can say is: It's mid. gp is hard to sync. No.4:Spider. It's good, but not the best. No.3:Ship. gp is not that hard, but there are better ones. No.2: Cube. I can already hear you say: WhY nOt NuMbEr OnE?!?! It is iconic, and probably the only reason it make top 2. No.1: Ball. Might be a hot take, but idc. It is SO SATISFYING to use.

Spider is great for easier levels but it’s basically impossible to make fun and spider gameplay. It’s also hard to make unique spider gameplay in general. It’s carried by orbs and pads, without them it’s just straight up and down.

My list 8: UFO Same reasoning as you 7: wave Its just way too unbalanced with the fact that you can't touch anything without letter blocks although maybe its just that im a failty new player who just beat deadlocked 6: swing Im sorry, its literally just the robot equivikent of the ship 5: cube I like the cube and yes it is the core gamemode, but the robot just has more possibilities for gameplay 4: spider For some reason, i just love the spider as a creator because of the music sync and gameplay you can make with it. Ita just super fun to use too and im not sure why 3: robot I like the robot a lot and you can do so much from hard deadlocked gameplay to easy geometrical dominator gameplay. I also like how hard it can be but also how easy it can be.

My favourite gamemodes (controversial) 8. Spider - literally just a worse ball 7. Swing - ball swing is better imo 6. Ball - good but kinda boring 5. Cube - the classic gamemode 4. Wave - best gamemode for demons 3. Ship - another classic, but i hate straightfly 2. UFO - i love flying cube, its just that good 1. Robot - dont ask

My list is probably going to the most controversial and unpopular you will ever see 8. Wave (don't get me wrong, you can build a good wave gameplay, but most levels just do it in an unoriginal and annoying way) 7. Ball (Honestly, I'm pretty much neutral with this one. It was never super fun to me, but also I never hated it) 6. Swing (People are still learning this mode, so many levels use it in a trash way, but in my opinion the mode pairs best with camera movements and orbs. Then it's really fun) 5. Cube (I pretty much love this gamemode and it's versality and it's easily more iconic than wave. But it's still not my favorite) 4. Ship (Very fun, satisfying and also more iconic than wave. Just please don't do a dual ship) 3. UFO (I love orb gameplay, that's why UFO is one of my favorites) 2. Spider (I know that this gamemode is not the most versatile one, but it's gameplay is extremely fun and satysfying to me, unlike wave) 1. Robot (I just LOVE robot gameplay, I love pretty much everything in it. It's just the most fun gamemode in the game)

robot can be really good. My main problem with it is that in custom levels, especially hard ones, people just SPAM micro clicks like constantly. Look at blade of justice or even deadlocked

I barely play platformee so thisnis kinda bias toward clasic mode. 1. Wave (satisfying, cun to control) 2. Ship 3. Cube 4. Ufo 5. Swing (2.1 version would be higher) 6. Ball 7. Spider (just worse ball imo) 8. Robot (feels wierd sometimes, never played a memorable robot before) 9. Jetpack

my list 8.spider 7.ufo 6.swing 5.wave 4.ball 3.robot 2.cube 1.ship i dont realy like ufo because it is very easy to bounce too high or too low but it is a bit fun when you know how do control it very well. robot is ok. i really like ship and cube. i dont know what to say about swing but its fine and im not too good or too bad at it. wave is ok but i dont like mini wave because i am bad at it. ball is ok. i dont really like spider and its not really fun

Ball is best, the ONLY way to make bad ball gameplay are those between 2 spikes ball gaps 2 blocks apart.
