And all these new American fans were trying to join in and get to know people and learn about Kylie...but all the old Aussie/Euro Queens were being so snobby and rude and acting like: "You're a new fan who jumped on the bandwagon because of CGYOOMH". I was cringing with embarrassment! They don't make people feel welcome there unless you own some rare Japanese vinyl of Kylie's "Got To Be Certain" as proof you are a diehard fan lol

You hit the nail on the head with fever!!! I’ve always felt the same about this album. The success of it was definitely driven by the singles (which are some of her best songs in her entire discography) but other than maybe 2 album tracks the rest of the album falls flat for me. Light years and disco are far more cohesive. Great video too btw. Glad to see some kylie love from a younger audience like myself

I agree with a lot of what you say, but most of all, that it's criminal that "I'm Over Dreaming (over you)" was not a single! Sal, you're gonna have to watch Kylie's "Anti-Tour". She sings a lot of those early non-single tracks like "I'm Over Dreaming Over You" and "One Boy Girl". I'd actually like for you to react to "Give Me Just A Little More Time" live from Anti-Tour because it's so good! The best performance of "Light Years" is from Live in Sydney 2001 (On A Night Like This Tour). You should also watch her perform "Dangerous Game" from Intimate & Live. She performed a lot of those "Impossible Princess" tracks that you like on the Intimate & Live Tour. Would you consider reacting to Bananarama's discography?

Impossible Princess is indeed brilliant! One of my Kylie-faves aswell! Body Language has some great songs aswell, I should re-listen to it. Red Blooded Woman, Slow, ingenious! I was obsessed with X back in 2008. I love the tour recording, I watched it a million times! It has almost like a movie structure, like it has a plot and it flows so nicely. You didn't mention my fave tracks: In My Arms and Like A Drug.

Am also glad you shared the journey. Will never understand why the Gay community in the States never bonded with her in much larger numbers. I know her fan base there are as loyal and engaged with her career as the rest of us but nowhere near the number there should be. She has always kept up an image since her 2002 peak with a few tours and major LGBTQ events such as Pride, White Party etc and Macy's Pde. As well as live performances of lead singles on major stations. 30000 of Disco is less than the population of West Hollywood. It's people like you that are putting her into the mix with a new generation of North American's that may experience the love and emotional highs that her music delivers. 🇦🇺💖💃

As an outsider to your country, i think the reason she never bonded with American Gays is because yall seem to only like "Diva's who are fierce". Kylie is just a nice normal popstar who has never had attitude or said anything controversial/political in her entire career. Her music is so hit or miss here in America. I remember at a big college dance club night, they introduced as the European Madonna lol! We were all like what?? The real issue is that there's so much competition here. She's more of an independent artist in the US. I remember when the fever came out. They had a huge Tower Records promotion in Chicago. It was huge, but I did not care for it when it came out. I also did not like Body Language, they really pushed that hard on TRL and the other music teen shows. It sounded too slow compared to what everyone else was doing when it came out. I wasn't a big fan until X was really promoted on Itunes/Zune. It was heavily promoted online. But again, I did not see any TV coverage of it. I really liked it! It was so different, and I thought it was light years ahead of what everyone else came out with. Lady Gaga then came out right after this with a similiar look and It really took off in the clubs/parties here in the US. I forgot how much I liked Kylie when she came out with Disco last year! Her 94 CD is really good, and I forgot how much I liked Impossible Princess. She's got a great catalog. But I agree with your last comments! Great review!

Still think Let’s Get To It does not deserve to be last in the list! It would be in my Top 5. But to be fair , I grew up as a kid in the 80’s and 90’s and the PWL years were all encompassing. I just love the soulful vibe of the album. If You were with me now, Let’s Get To It, Live and Learn, No World Without You, Finer Feelings, Give Me Just a Little, Right Here Right Now. All great songs! I hated Impossible Princess and thought it was such a misstep ... Did it Again and Some Kind of Bliss were good. My Top 5 would be : 1- Disco 🕺🏼 2- Let’s Get To It 3- Enjoy Yourself 4- Kylie (Debut) 5- Golden. There are also a couple of great bops from her 1992 Greatest Hits ‘What Kind of Fool’ and ‘Where in the World’ you need to give a listen 🎧 Love the vids Sal.

So, it's actually simple for me to say why. I have a personal connection to Golden because it was the first Kylie album I ever listened to. It is very personal to me. Fever while I think I maybe placed it a little to low is a rather cold album to me. It doesn't present what makes Kylie special. I feel it doesn't have anything purposeful to say.
