Ranking Monstercat 001 - Launch Week (again)

welp.. it’s about time i actually got down to these comps again. (FULL full story in the paragraph beneath) i’m restarting with Launch Week today as i’m pretty dissatisfied by my older videos ranking these compilations and thought i’d restart fresh with the knowledge of production terminology and my newer reviewing mindset. i hope that my reviews have matured with me in the last 18+ months, and with that i hope you enjoy the video :D
i’ve always wanted to cover monstercat’s music in full on this channel but i always knew it’d be a MAMMOTH undertaking, with over 3,000 songs and almost 50 compilations (as well as 300 EPs and 30 albums).
as you may know i started with the first 4 compilations in my earliest videos but gave up as i wanted to be a variety channel rather than dedicate myself to one label.
i don’t know how i’ll review the catalog after Uncaged Volume 3 given that both brands started to make comps at different points but it’ll be fine… i think i might finish UV3 and do monthly rankings from 2018 through 2022 unless i rank comps up to to UV11 and IV7… i’d have about 8 months of solely instinct to rank but i might actually do it that way in the end.
overall i plan to cover all compilations in some form and do the EPs in videos between comp videos showcasing the EPs that released in the middle of a comp rollout.
alright, enough said now- this is my action plan. hope you stuck with it!
this is all my opinion, and i don’t tolerate blatant disrespect towards artists in my comments. by all means you’re allowed to have a least favourite but be respectful about it! don’t be bashing me about the ranking either, it’s not gospel truth and you should enjoy what you want without being judged :D

It's been ages since I listened to 2011 Monstercat 7. wow this isn't more than 4/10 now it used to be 8 at some point 😭 6. didn't age super well but it's a fun song. 6.5 5. eww 3 (my #7) 4. good, 7 3. this drop is just bland and worse than the first one, brings the song to 6 2. also a 7, suffers from poor mixing (my #1) 1. great, 7
