Turns out the "trains pride" flag is a 1952 painting by Ellsworth Kelly called "Train Landscape" and somehow Ru confusing the trans flag with a minimalist painting is so in character for him

Like, "Train" is absolutely suspiciously close to "Trans" and the mix-up very much feels like a Ru thing to do but it sounds like attaching irrelevant pieces from this particular artist wasn't uncommon for Ru's tweets when this happened

Thomas and Ru famously feel out in 1906 where Ru stole some special Welsh Coal at a party that Thomas had put aside for her best Judy, Henry (Ru also apparently crushed it up and used it to smoke some low quality weed so Thomas was even more pissed on principle). The two got into such a loud and public fight (that actually got physical) that Ru was escorted off of Sodor and banned and Thomas was shunted for a few months. Over a century later the two have refused to acknowledge each other and refuse to work together. As recently as 2023 when Thomas was interviewed by the BBC, the interviewer asked her about how she felt about the success of DRUK and responded "I'm proud of our local girls and that's all I'm going to say on the matter."

So about that Train flag turns out its not actually a flag but an art piece from 1953 called Train Landscape by Ellsworth kelly. There isnt much information on it just that its an abstract piece. I dont know why it pops up for Train flags because its not actually a flag used by trains. They can sport any flag but will usually have the flag of the country its from or State/Providence/City. And they have their own flag code of the usual red, green, yellow for safety measures.

Even though the "trains flag" picture might have been totally unrelated to the tweet, I still fully believe Ru Paul does not know what the trans flag looks like, because when Nina West dressed herself in rainbow colours and her "daughter" in pink, white and blue in the makeover challange, all the judges, including ru, were confused about the concept. It could not be simpler and yet none of them recognised the trans colours... (Also a side rant, I HATE how "family resemblance" in the makeover challenge literally just means having the exact same look and matching outfits. Like, from the same fabric and in the same general design. That's so uncreative and I blame Michelle because she's usually the one calling queens out for anything other than a complete match)

The Gia tweet about doors is because she competed in all stars while being out and living as a trans woman. Other queens had competed while being trans but the show didn't protray them as such or even made them hide it. Peppermint was out before her season but they sort of made her hide it and then come out during the show. So yeah Gia was the first one "totally out" if that makes sense. But Kerry wasn't the first in a main season of drag race (not all stars), it was Gottmik. So Gia was wrong still lol.
