For real, for every person who had an 'unpopular opinion' about something, there would be a comment with the exact opposite opinion claiming that their version was the TRUE 'unpopular opinion'... i guess everyone thinks that their opinions are unpopular but nothing truly is. exactly. out of all the other queens on the show she’s the most popular with her flourishing music career, makeup line, tv show, youtube, etc. and also i’m sure the producers wanted to look at this as a sort of “redemption arc” since she fell flat on szn 7. if we were to look at as3 alone trixie probably wouldn’t have won, but top 4 for sure.

It was like receiving an honorary title tbh, Trixie is pretty much "Queen of all Queens"-Level outside the show, so in my head it balances out in a way. Its more weird to not see/think of her as a Winner at this point.

I always say that Trixie won fair and square even though I don't think she was the "best" queen there, and that's coming from a Trixie fan. I would have put Dela and Shangela before Trixie but with the self elimination and the queens not voting for Shangela for the final lip sync, it was Trixie's to win. I love Kennedy but Trixie had the fuller package and brand.

Such ordinary people, most of them without any special talent besides posing, teaching something useless or plain wrong or faking situations for the sake of likes. Rare are the brains or arts and crafts' geniuses offering high level content on social medias which would make for good impersonations, I think.

Sasha's reveal is definitely appropriately rated as one of the best reveals. Not just the wig reveal, but the intensity of the emotion on her face during and after the reveal. Shea is incredible and Sasha completely eclipsed her there. Wigs were definitely snatched. Well, Sasha snatched her own wig haha.

Yes! And I think the drama and intensity is missed on people who don't watch the season and just watch the lip sync. Sasha was very open about her choice to be a bald drag queen--influenced by her mom's baldness during cancer. Seeing her remove the wig at that moment, with the petals, and the song was just everything. So so so good and definitely drag race history.

@@NoMoreQuestionsabsolutely agree! its special to me in more ways than just “oo pretty flowers”, there is such strong symbolism and context and i always felt that it was a true climax to her character and drag. her backstory, her bald head/mothers influence, the songs lyrics, UGH it’s just so good it still gives me chills to this day. nothing has come close to beating that lip sync for me yet, especially in terms of impact and shock and sheer power. 💛

The only time I thought that a double crowning would be justified aside from AS4 was season 15. Sasha and Anetra both deserved it because they were so so good the entire season and I don’t think anyone would be mad if both of them were crowned. Sasha would have won either way but Anetra also slayed the competition and even managed to win three lip syncs in one episode and never showed any signs of exhaustion or giving up.

my drag race hot take is sasha velour not only totally deserved her win (there are 2-3 challenges she didn't win that i felt she should have), but also would crush on an all winners season. i've heard people say they'd rather not see her on an all winners season because they think she's less competitive--i think she was, a), a victim of an edit that was certain shea would win, and b) smart enough not to antagonize anyone for no reason and instead focused on her own drag all season

yes! i hate that people say that sasha was safe all season and then won? she won two challenges (yes they were shared wins but come on the reason they were shared was because sashea’s performances relied so heavily upon each other, so it made no sense to let one of them win without the other), was in the top multiple times and i also think there are times where she was safe where she should’ve at least been in the top 3

My weird take, I feel Snatch Game should do different game shows, like one that’s just Family Feud, and it could be like a team challenge or something, and the only reason I say this is cause I know people are tired of the format when it comes to that challenge

I kind of disagree with the idea of switching up winners and losers. It would be gaggy once, maybe twice (and also super emotionally manipulative which I’m not super for), but after that point your just delaying the suspense from the moment the queen is named to the moment Ru says “shantay you stay” or “sashay away”. It then becomes a completely meaningless change. Also, if the safe queen is left standing there it pulls some of the focus from the eliminated queens exit.

My problem with the vs the worlds is that there’s always going to be cultural and linguistic bias toward United States and “western” culture whereas queens from different backgrounds and queens who don’t speak English will always be at a disadvantage. If they don’t speak English, they’ll never even have a chance of being cast on a vs the world because that’s not where the money is. It just frustrates me when the cast is majority US/UK/Canada, even Down under queens and queens from other franchises are the minority.

I fully agree and I was so frustrated when it came down to Ra'Jah vs Silky on Canada vs The World like omg Rita and Victoria were both so deserving and surprise! the only US queens were the ones battling for the crown... Why would you brand this as an "international" season if it ends like a regular all stars one ?? At least the UK vs The World seasons were more interesting but it's still a UK queen winning for both, stop making it so obvious, that's blowing up the whole point of the branding... I can't wait to see what will the Global All Stars be !

My problem with the AS6 Smackdown episode is that the returning queen for the lipsync (usually Silky) had an advantage because they could plan their outfits and stunts. After working on the show all day, how can the opposing queen compete with that? The concept is flawed in that way and the riggory was on full display.

I just remember people saying stuff like "Oh, they cut a lot of Sasha during Snatch Game probably because she bombed" - but in the extended edit she was actually better than the cut-down MTV Version. Stuff like that. Also the first lipsync against Anetra, the full version made it more obvious to me why she won. About Drag Kings: Slightly agree on RuPaul judging, but there are some more NB performers who blur the line, I think it is worth a try at this point. More (un-)popular opinions: - We should go back to 10 contestants with a Top 3, its too obvious who is not quite ready and gets the chop before the Top 10. - The Original Song Performance is a bad format. - We dont need a "Im an adorable, but twisted Doll"-Queen every Season. - The young, white fans have too much influence of who is the fan favorite and a lot of Queens have cracked the code to appeal to this demographic. - Lipsyncs need to improve in quality in general, its a Queen's bread and butter usually, how did some get on the show with 0 skills in this area. - the "bedroom queen" storyline is boring and tired, unless someone will unexpectedly slay.

I think its pretty impossible to have drag kings on the show because they can't compete with each other. Too different. Just compares men's style versus women's, the design challenges would fall apart.

i would love to see drag kings but i wouldnt trust the judges with them because theyre so stuck in what drag "is supposed to be" (though they have gotten better) i can kinda see some of the judges doing their homework so they can give fair critiques, but rupaul is kind of stuck in the past.

About Phi Phi, I feel like she was wrongly portrayed as the villain on S4. Her fight with Sharon started out by Sharon "apologizing" about being forced into a role which let to her winning the challenge. It felt like bragging and there was still some guilt tripping involved so I see why she got mad. And regarding Willam she was just too stern and serious and they didn't vibe, didn't make either of them a villain. Also regarding the reversal of shantays and sashays, I want to go back to when they could call out the first of the bottom 3 and then tell them they need to lip sync. Nowadays queens already breathe a sigh of relief when they are called out with more than 2 queens on stage.

Phi phi wanted a villain edit, she's stated it many times, and a reason why she disliked all stars 2 so much was because she wanted a rudemption and didn't get that edit. I will say it she did probably get less of her being nice on the show and Alyssa has gotten clearly a very kind edit in AS2, like she can be beyond shady sometimes, take season 5 for example. But also she is actually a very defensive person and being in that stressful situation is bound to create genuine anger

Here’s some of my unpopular opinions: 1. Maddy should’ve made it much farther on her season than she did,she should’ve been low in the ball and safe in the design challenge (Jorgeous should’ve been in the bottom for both and Kerri should’ve been in the bottom for the design) and she would’ve slayed the comedy challenges later on in the season 2.Giving golden boots to design challenge looks is such a cop out, making a bad look is one thing, but paying for one is waaayy worse ( also Marcia’s beautiful nightmare look should’ve won golden boot over Salina’s metal look) 3. The way we treat queens who don’t know how to sew is unfair considering we don’t keep the same energy towards queens who lack other skills that are needed for drag race, like improv skills, picking up choreo, lip syncing, and acting 4. Utica is the best fashion queen to come out since Raja, with Jaida and Symone coming as close seconds 5. Speaking of fashion, a lot of the pageant girls eat up a lot of the “fashion” girls in terms of taste and style I mean…look at A’keria, Jaida, Mistress, Angeria, Trinity k Bonet, etc. they give every single time but alot of the fandom pays them dust cuz they’re not white twinks 🤷‍♀️ If have so many more but I’d be here all day lol

Sorry if this comes off as rude, but I am curious what you would define a fashion queen. Utica and Symone would be what I describe as fashion queens as their concepts are more high fashion while I would say that Jaida has really gorgeous garments. But I would say Jaida isn't high fashion compared to Utica and Symone. I agree nonetheless of her being the best fashion queen we have had in a while though.

As someone who watched season 4 after it aired but before the Sharon stuff came out I also never thought of Phi Phi as much of a villain as they tried to portray her. I feel like the main reason we were supposed to see her as the villain was because she didn't respect Sharon's drag but it didn't seem like Sharon respected Phi Phi's drag...? Also later in the season we do learn about Phi Phi's abusive home life growing up so I was immediately able to cut her some slack when I got that information on my first viewing (don't know why more people didn't seem too. Society only cares about trauma survivors if they are pleasant enough? Because it was 2012?). Honestly, Chad Michaels was the hero of that season for me by being a consummate professional and respecting others.

@@caitthecat And Sharon Needles uses offensive words and imagery for shock value and (allegedly) abused an underage fan. Unrelated, I just felt like bringing up Sharon as a trauma survivor in particular compared to Phi Phi being "mean" on a TV show was A Choice. I'm not saying Phi Phi was a pleasant person on the show, but she was certainly not a villain or evil person and deserved more respect than she got. Using the excuse that a lot of the cast dealt with trauma is kind of proving the point I was making. A lot of the cast has been through trauma, but because Jaremi reacts to that in his own way that is not pleasant or necessarily kind people think he doesn't deserve grace or sympathy. I disagree with that idea. Same with Sharon, she probably acted like that toward Phi Phi because of how her drag was perceived back home and was being defensive. I can sympathize with that even though I personally find them both frustrating in how they don't seem to recognize that they are treating the other the way they DON'T want to be treated which is preventing them from solving their problems with each other.

I feel the problem with the lipsync smackdown is that if you were just eliminated (Eureka) you have to just win one lipsync. It makes it unfair advantage. I think the Lalaparusa in all stars 4 was better

For the AS6 one, although I wouldn't say I hated the season I definitely don't think it's one of the best. The redemptions were cool but it left other queens like Pandora and Scarlett in the dust, I'm pretty sure Alyssa Summers got more screentime than them on AS6. Also Jan should've won against Silky or maybe like tied

Drag Race is already a mix of antm x project runway and literally the early reality shows, so it totally makes sense to do full antm, most of the queens are antm fans themselves, plus it's so borinf to see them on the werkroom every episode, it's been 30 seasons and how many franchises, the show needs some change.

i agree that angeria should’ve won the design challenge, personally i don’t get the hype over lady camden’s look (especially not when people think she was ROBBED). jorgeous’ look was fine, not design challenge winner worthy but her hair and face was STUN and she really sold it on the runway so kudos to her. we’ve seen other queen’s receive high praise for making “simple” outfits really work (like Gigi wearing a bikini for the night of 1000 michelle visages runway) so why not. and like you said if people have a problem with the decisions then they should complain about the judges not the queens
