If you're getting into Horus Heresy then Wartable is damn near a necessity, and if you buy in bulk or with friends it will come cheap from China.

I only buy recasts of miniatures that are no longer in production. The fuss of resin miniatures is not worth it in general.

The only thing I buy of recast is FW stuff. I’ve bought one recast kit that’s suppose to be plastic and it was a pain to build/clean up. With FW I’m already gonna have to clean up anyways, so might as well save cash.

I have been burned by too many bad casts, warped pieces, bubbles and in general brittle resin. What also really sucks is having to wear a mask and make sure ventilation is good when I work on these pieces. I just stopped doing recasts because of these reasons.

Yup-I actually cut a section of this video out where I compare and contrast two Baal Predators by two different recasters. One had lots of warped pieces and I go into details what it would take to fix them: which is what made me realize just how much opportunity cost can be lost due to recasting and why buying an official kit in the first place can make more sense despite paying more. That section became so long that I decided to spin that off into its own video.

I know many people are upset at this guy for outing these sites for fear they get shut down - which I kinda get. So, does anybody have any methods that we can reliably find these kinda sites on our own?

The point of things like this for the protection of the caster's and people who use them is that they aren't easy to find, that's the entire point you goof. IP theft is ILLEGAL. Next up "where are my videos reviewing p1rated software groups and dr_gs". Imbecile. It's an IQ test to try to find them and often requires you knowing a guy who knows a guy. If you don't you failed and will cause more damage to the industry by being spoon fed the information.

If you are going after recasts you are probably a modeler, so small imperfections on recasts are a non issue.
