The old timers did it, and I was obsessed!) Been carrying almost 50 years now, taught my kids, and now my grandson is about to get his first. You always need a knife. If you don't think you will, start carrying one! You'll be surprised. My son was SURE he'd never need to carry one.. I gave him a multi-tool with him shaking his head going 'dad, I'll never use this".. as soon as he got home, his brother in law was visiting for a party, said "Hey, anyone got a cork screw?" SON OF a GUN LOL.. he had to call me to tell me. ) I can't tell you how many people will ride or drive with no tools, no knife, nothing. I can't tell you how many times I've loaned my Leatherman to a "biker" who had to fix a fender, chain, bolt, something small, but were stuck on the side of the parking lot trying to tighten the smallest stuff with their fingers. .I believe in at least carrying a quality multi-tool (currently Leatherman Free P4) and a decent flipper (CRKT Pilar or Kershaw Onion right now).

The law makers in the Uk need to watch this. So many people with knives of all shapes and sizes, OTFs, fixed blades…and no one is randomly stabbing each other or committing crimes. Who would have thought! We have such ridiculously stupid and illogical knife laws in this country. The question about what the last thing you cut was…that is a stroke of genius. People who aren’t knife people always ask why I carry a knife and who am I going to stab with it or do I think I’m going to get mugged.

At least you guys can carry non locking pocket knives. Over here in Finland any blade you carry you need specific reason for carry, and its up to individual officer to think if its good enough reason. So technically even small swiss army knife could land you in trouble over here.
@MRWKFClark2 жыл бұрын
@@lalli8152 it’s bad that it’s pure luck whether or not the officer will agree with your reason. Is this even for non locking knives? Or are you allowed to carrying a locking/fixed blade if you have a good reason? I just find it hilariously stupid that a sub 3” non locking is absolutely fine but if you have a 1” blade that locks then that’s not ok.

@@MRWKFClark Same rule applies for any blade. I guess if you have small pocket knife police might not be even interested, but its basicly luck. At least you guys have some guide line, and legal rule for EDC blades because over here it feels so vague. Luckily police here seem rarely to be total bricks, and in countryside where i live people tend not to freak out about knives even though i wouldnt pull one out in public. Hunters for example in hunting season are in village store usually empty sheath on their belt cos they leave the knife in car, but if for some reason some hunter has their knife on belt typically people dont bat an eye. The police was proud to announce to the media that they had sized "warfare weapons and narcotics". Then they showed the booty to the camera. A fixed bladed knife with a plastic handle aswell as black switch blade. The narcotics was 2 cannabis joints found in a cigarette pack thrown in the same trash can as the knives. Like you said, lots of “cheap” gas station type knives but they all get used FAR more than the expensive ones us knife guys use. I’d never use my Arius to tighten the screw on my glasses and there is something to be said about that…

Wasn't expecting the Milwaukee fastback to be shown. I really like the knife I carry it with me for breaking down boxes at work. I like that I can hold extra blades.

Would be great to ask the people if they have any interesting story with a knife. And if so... share their story. And ask them about other items they like to EDC Great video Zac! Please do more of these. :)

The man who wanted a dollar to show you his pocket knife looked homeless. I could be wrong but glad you gave him a 5$ even a small amount can show how big your heart is.

"What's the last thing you cut with it?" "My finger." That's a great guy right there. He reminds me of my girlfriend's stepdad.

Cool little video bud! The grease pen took me back to the eighties when I was a motorcycle courier in London 🇬🇧 I used to do exactly the same thing, and write directions, or draw a little map on the fuel tank of my Honda VT500 😎

These "What's in your pockets" vids were a great idea. Too bad I didn't stumble on to the channel earlier. I grew up in the Black Hills and was actually in the area during the Rally this year.

Great video! I am new to the channel and really enjoyed this 1st one. That old dude at the beginning with the 3 blades (kukri damascus was wicked)

I really enjoyed this, was cool to see just people openly excited to show someone what they are carrying for their pocket knife regardless of quality, style, price, etc. sure would be awesome if things were more like this for open carry what's that you carrying that new p365xl thats awesome how does it respond etc etc earned a sub

That guy with the cheap black knife (2:58) had a grand way knife. I got one for $10 off of amazon a few years ago and still have it. Its a great little knife for the price

Carry one anyway. I was "riding dirty" for years before Texas came to its senses and overhauled the knife laws to be less draconian.

30-40 year knives just blows my mind. I just cant justifying spending $200+ for a pocket knife. Most of the knives ive daily carried has had a screw fall out or the blade lock mess up. Currently carrying a Kershaw (google says its a Leek) and its been by far my best pocket carry knife so far with about 2 years under its belt.

The Benchmade that the chaplain patch guy had is extremely rare, especially if it's the Harley edition. I sharpened one for a co worker a while ago. Big ol knife.
