Kamen Rider has been around for so long and has given us some incredible suit designs. So, in this video, I wanted to sit down and share with you all my top 10 favorite Kamen Rider suits!

One element that's often overlooked about Drake's design imo, is how if you look from the left torso all the way to his right arm, it forms the side profile of a dragonfly. The left shoulder pad's the eyes, the bottom part of the left torso is its legs, and the armor on the right arm is the dragonfly's whole thorax also, if you remove Jeanne's undersuit and imagine it's her bare skin the suit becomes lewder

I think what is neat about the geats chest piece being a magnum barrel is that the bullet like black pieces look like magatamas with how they curve. I thought Kamen Rider Saga’s motif thing was a king or holy cathedral sort of thing.

That's definitely the primary theme, although ufo is for sure there, kinda like how the jack o lantern aspect of kiva is pretty toned down compared to the bat part, you only really see the ufo bit in the driver/bat thing

If you ask me my most favorite base form a few years ago, my answer would be Decade. Decade suits has everything I want: It look balance, creative motif, design and color, and especially looking like a menace, you see Decade on the street, you definitely don't wanna mess with him. But now, my answer has change, it is Geats: the suits is just a better version of Decade, and it has some unique things too, like the fox motif, 2 different gimmicks on the body, same as W or Build, and I really like the colors choices, the overall suit just look very creative, badass and futuristic.

Geats is cool but mine will always be Decade. That’s barcode design incorporated into the eyes with that flaming fire it seems really sells the destroyer of everything vibe then the X cross the chest and color combo with his booker acting as his primary weapon and keeper

Another awesome thing about Ghost's Ore damashii is that if you look closer while the mask glows, you can see tiny patterns that make it look like a japanese lantern. Also Den-O's rod and axe form reference two other "Taro" in Japanese mythology. Taro Urashima (a fisherman who was brought to the Dragon Palace on turtleback after rescuing one.) and Kintaro (typically portrayed carrying an axe)

Your description of what Kamen Rider Knight's suit conveys fits perfectly with what he radiated when I first saw him in the series. A cold personality that only has one clear objective and is not interested in anything else besides that, works very well for a first impression. And the fact that it is so simple gives it a plus. Good video friend.

One element i always found super fun about ghost's masks after it was pointed out was how it's inverted. Instead of compound eyes and a solid fsce, its a compound eyes look for the face and the eyes are a solid color,

But there's already a good video by TJOmega on how OOO could be adapted, so going over the same talking points would just feel kinda unnecessary.

I like design of OG kamen rider's suit and plus the helmet is iconic with the grasshopper motif And also decade's suit is cool abit hard to look at because of the helmet And i also like the suit from the newer series gotchard the blue flows perfectly with the rest of the armor

My favorite suits have to be the ones from zi o, they just perfectly blend the sleek future elements with the wackier stuff (watch parts, katakana/hiragana eyes, giant shoulder pads, etc) so incredibly well

I'm a sucker for the 70s aesthetic, so one of my favourites is probably the original Kamen Rider suit. I also think Black RX is pretty up there. Not only is it a retro suit, but it takes me back to seeing Masked Rider for the first time. When talking about newer Riders, nothing I've seen quite hits the spot. I think the last suit that's really wowed me was the Fourze suit. I know that's a controversial take, but that suit looks like it's straight out of the 70s, which is what I'm personally looking for. I'm not really a KR fan anymore, to be honest. I just check back once a year to see what the new suit looks like. So I can't even comment on the themes of the show each year and how well the suit fits said theme. I'm just going purely off initial impressions. But Doctor Who is my main thing, and I love the classic era, particularly the 70s and 80s. And my love of that sort of primitive and imaginative design carries forward to everything. OG Star Wars looks better than modern Star Wars to me because it's so 70s. I think the original Zaku design from Mobile Suit Gundam is completely perfect as opposed to anything new that series comes out with these days.

Double is my favorite. I got a lot of love for double. The series is solid and the other suits are great. Like Accel, Skull, Eternal, and Joker. Faiz is pretty high on my list. I really like how the Faiz gear is disguised as a cellphone, flashlights, bike handle, and etc. I’m also a sucker for drivers or henshin devices that can double as a weapon. Another suit I really like is Dark Kiva, but he’s basically a cooler repainted of Emperor Kiva so I don’t know if he technically counts.

@@KingZoru_VT it's fine. The intended design for evil was like a bat that asleep, covered up like yankee. While Live is the bat that already woken up. Shining like knight. That is why the gimmick is flipping the blade into gun. Also, the white bat actually exist in real life. Revice whole ordeal is actually about evolution if you look into it deeply and color pattern

One fun trivia for any Double fan out there, the announcer of the gaia memories y'know the dude that screams "CYCLONE! JOKA!", did the Wisps announcer transformations for Sonic Colors also the "FINAL PRISM BLASTER" bit, all that part is also a reference to Double when he uses all the Gaia Memories with is weapon in his Extreme mode doing the Unlimited Colors Sword thing, so Sonic did a very clear reference to Double's transformations and Ultimate finisher in the game. But of course its not the only Kamen Rider thing related with Sega, Segata Sanshiro is literally Kamen Rider Ichigo's actor. Now, going back to the subject at hand, my top 10 base form riders could be: 10 - Amazon 9 - Vice 8 - Ryuki 7 - OOO 6 - Kabuto 5 - Nadeshiko 4 - Kuuga 3 - Black 2 - Zero One 1 - Wizard

My Top 10 10) Super-1 The hornet themed helmet feels the closest to modern design sensibilities. The tassles are a silly by today's standards but they're a product of the times and accentuate his Shorinken martial arts movements very well. 9) Kamen Rider Knight Same reasons as yours. 8) Kamen Rider Zero Two I don't know if you'd count this as a base form but personally, Zero Two is to Zero One what Black RX was to Black: A separate base form that just happens to be an upgrade. MASSIVE points for being a clear Kamen Rider Nigo callback, down to the red gloves and "02" pseudo scarf. 7) Kamen Rider Shin The original organic design. It's a concept I haven't seen be done again at all and it's a crying shame. I'd love a Reiwa rider to be all organic and monstrous, like an actual creature. 6) Kamen Rider Joker Yes, just Joker. Because the all-black with purple trim is my favourite colour scheme. The design of the suit itself is also one of the best imo among the Heisei riders. It has a clean silhouette and armour elements that aren't too busy. It's the perfect balance. 5) Kamen Rider Century Those translucent turquoise plates give the suit that futuristic look (appropriate) that reminds me of Kamen Rider Zero One's suit, but not as boring. The classic red bug eyes instead peek out from behind the turquoise faceplate which gives it excellent complementary contrast which I think more rider designs should do. 4) Kamen Rider Zolda I absolutely adore heavily tech-y designs. Gunner riders in general are my favourite and Zolda's is my favourite gunner design. Especially when he carries that huge Gigalauncher cannon. It just cuts an imposing figure. 3) Kamen Rider Buster Of the Saber riders, Buster stands out. The steel grey hexagonal plates that adorn his body easily evoke the shell of a turtle, his ridebook namesake the Black Tortoise of chinese mythology. He just feels like an absolute TANK. 2) Kamen Rider Ichigo (Powered Up) Speaking of tanks, this form of Ichigo during the Kamen Rider Ghost movie is simply badass. An old, bulky Ichigo that just exudes power. I especially appreciate how it matches Hongo Takeshi's body: that of a more heavily built old man. 1) Kamen Rider Ichigo (Kamen Rider The First/The Next) I know you didn't consider Showa designs in your list but THIS is a redesign done right. It's like they took the original Ichigo design and said "how would we make this in the heisei era?". They also leaned into the Rider aspect with the leather biker gear which I appreciate. I feel like the "rider" theme has been lost in current riders.

legit, i've only started down the Rider rabbit hole. hence why i said i've 'latched on to Geats' in the colors video, so I don't really have much frame of reference for much out side Geats, as it is the first Kamen Rider i have actually sat down with. Loving it btw. and some of the suits I do like, are final forms, like Muteki, so not really applicable to this list. so for now. I'm a bitch out and say 'Magnum Boost Geats' cause i haven't sat down with anything else Kamen Rider. yet ... I have a list of seasons to work through.

Oh yeah! There’s that, especially because of his stained glass look (and because he’s the Fangire’s rider), but his belt Sagark is a UFO-type creature, so that’s why I classified him as that 😄 And plus his belt makes some really interesting alien-like sounds!

Saga was based off of a snake in his design not so much a ufo at all. Saga is connected to the word Naga which were serpents in Hinduism mythology since his design is a more gothic and snake combo. Not a bad list. I agree with you on some things but yeah not too shabby. Looking forward to a final form list maybe one for first riders and one for secondary riders in the future?

Den-O Ax Form’s helmet is more creative than you give it credit for. While it starts as an Ax, it then transforms into the kanji 金(kin), or gold in Japanese

A shame OOO didn't make the cut but I see why you didn't put him there, if both OOO and Double are on the list they would be a bit too similar in a way, at least in how their system works, but yeah personal fav would be OOO, his whole aesthetic is sleek and efficient, builds off of Double's shifting armor pieces but expanding upon the concept and the execution is just magnificent with the crests of each Medal compressed into the O lung circle? According to the Wiki at least, but the medal's symbol compressed into each section, how each color contrasts with the black and the mix and match nature feels more advanced than double while keeping it simple and elegant

Hey I'm looking to get into video creation on KZbin as well as being a big Kamen Rider fan myself, I was wondering if it would be ok if I could make a companion video to this list, consisting of Showa Era suits. My favorite era for the franchise is a tie between the Showa Era and the Neo-Heisei Era, I first got intoduced to the franchise when I saw clips of the original 1971 series used in a video I saw back during my sophmore year of High School and followed that up by watching Kamen Rider V3. the aestethics of the era matched my love of 50s-80s science-fiction/horror B-Movies which I am very fond of and I even replicate the classic style in my outfits in my daily life. Also I hardly see the Showa Era talked about and I would like to shed some light on it.

Hmmmm I think it’s okay, but some of the colorations I’m not a huge fan of. They started turning the white pieces gold, but for some reason they stopped at his fore arms and leg cuffs. I think if they changed up the rest of his body to match the color scheme it would work more, but even then, I like his original colors more 😄

by far in the comment no one that putting kamen rider agito series on their favourite for best rider suit. my take in agito for 3 different concept rider (mystic, tech and bio). agito with his famous spread horn and gills' gaping his mouth anf g3 the actual realist tech base rider suit in term of transformation also another agito as predecessor of another rider

...you know, I'm not much of a fan for Kamen Rider, Super Sentai or really any toku series /movies (my love is only for Ultraman, Gridman and Gamera ❤). Don't get me wrong, I don't hate KR, I remember liking the series before KR Fourze however I don't think I'll be checking out any KR series for now...especially with how most of the newer KR designs aren't really my thing and my goodness the amount of gimmicks, toys, forms.....yeah no( no hate to the Neo Heisei and Reiwa era of KR) But if I do have to pick my favorite KR suit...then it's areally tough one between Ryuki and OOOs. Ryuki's design just looks extremly cool and I love the red despite it not being my fav color. I also have a bias for it since Ryuki pretty much introduced me to KR in the first place. Also, metal dragons are rad af, just look at Dynazenon/Dyna Rex. OOOs design looks unique for me and I also have a bias for OOO since it's the first KR series I finished. The green eye and the giant circle thing that displays the medal he is using is so cool like mah gawd.
