Personal favorite kara application: Kara Heat Knuckle on round start against a chicken block, into Kara Pot Buster right as they hit the ground. Feels like I'm slapping them in the face with "yeah, I've got the reads AND the execution."

I really like the idea of kara cancelling with Potemkin. It's a cool technique! But, also feel like it's a very weird way they've patched up holes in his gameplay. It makes doing optimal things with him a lot more challenging than it'd be with other characters. Of course, practice makes perfect and the karas eventually become second nature, but it does add a level of execution to Potemkin that sort of makes me less motivated to play him.

On the other hand, when you get an opponent that thinks they can just FD their way out of Garuda after Garuda, you get to flex your execution with kara Garuda pressure while they throw away all their meter.

I don't know if it's that much more challenging than other characters. Pot's pretty straightforward other than Kara cancels, it would be silly to say he's hard like zato. I think it's cool that they add a (relatively) high execution option for his moves that is totally optional for 90% of players. Remember it's not like you have to or even should kara every time.

The only one I would say you really should learn is Kara potbuster but that ones also the easiest to do since potbuster naturally ends in a forward input so you only have to practice plinking P and K. Kara garuda of course is great too but I've manage to clap people up until celestial without it, just play around the push back, however none of these help where Pot really struggles... Defense.

Did that interaction get changed? I never used it myself because my execution sucks and I'd get smoked for trying to flick the explosion but I thought it was still something you needed for the Ram matchup

6K Kara Giganter is actually useful in some combos now to guarantee that you're close enough to confirm it after some pokes. It's kinda like a lite version of the new HFB kara for the normals that gatling into 6K.

the only situation where I intentionally kara giganter is after a wallbreak, since it allows you to get slightly closer and they also dont have time to hit you before the invul comes out

Good video, and there is actually only 1 redeeming factor about Kara Giganter. On some KBMF combos, if you want that extra bit of damage on the wallbreak or get a hard knockdown wallbreaking, you have to kara Giganter to do it because raw giganter gets the less damaging projectile instead of the aura explosion hitbox

How I use kara Slide Head is that I use it to catch them while they're still recovering from their backdash animation.

Ive actually used kara giganter a couple of times to get me just in the range to where i could counterpoke one of ky's disjointed normals to take a round. Still not super useful but i found at least 1 use for it

Thanks for the video, but as far as kara gigantor kai, i could think of a few wall combos that end with a splat, and potemkin can end up a bit far from the original kai's range, so kara G. Kai can pick up and provide more damage.

Oh yeah there was this twitter clip abt using BRC kara slide head in corner to inflict guard crush on opponent and using the slowdown to mixup, because apparently guard crush means vulnerable to grab? I can't rmb the contents I wonder if that changes your opinion on the Kara slide head for a future update

I play on controller and something that helped me easily do karas was removing the ability to jump by pressing up on the stick. Now it's easy as hell to kara cancel because I never accidentally jump. You can basically do full circles for kara buster or kara garuda

I don't really agree that kara Giganter is completely worthless. Even if it costs meter, a move that leaves you +100 on block is nothing to scoff at, and the kara can be useful for forcing them to block it instead of being able to escape. It's definitely not, like, your _best_ use of meter, and the fact that it's so easy to get it trying to do kGaruda definitely hurts. But I'd probably put it more like C or D rather than F.

You need to remember that this was written in season 1. Giganter didn't generate the shield on block in that season.

There's a corner combo I labbed where you can set up oki with Kara flick, but other than that, yeah, pretty useless.

You're basically doing a Pot Buster motion, just cut our the 63 of the 632146 So it should look like 2146

isn't kara f.d.b used to reliably flick ramlethal sword explosion (otherwise it doesn't always work), that seems infinitely more useful than kara slide head

The only time I use kara giganter Kai in a real, practical scenario is if I wall splat my opponent and I know 6H won't kill them even after the wall break. That little extra bit of movement to break the wall can barely edge out a kill

The problem with kara is that it is entierly macrosable. I've tried controllers that have macros assigned to back flaps, and had perfect kBMFs and kara garudas on both sides with a press of a button. I'm not saying it's right thing to do, I'm just saying it is a thing people actually use online
