I forgot about Beijing 2008 mascots. I had so much merch from that olympics. Those mascots went hard!!!

yeah the only olympic mascots that are on the same level as the 2008 Beijing ones are the 2010 Vancouver ones imo.

Yuuuuuuuup, I knew the 2012 mascots wouldn't do well. The games were great, but the design was... not. Also, joyful that the county of my birth sounds made up. Makes me proud to be a Salopian.

Honestly I feel a bit nostalgic for wenlock and Mandeville because I saw them a bit in 2012. That said as much as I see them in meltan I have my doubts wenlock inspired it.

I love this tier list, definitely agree that Beijing is top of S tier. The Tokyo mascots remind me of off-colored Celebis, the eyes are creeping me out a bit. The only one I would slightly disagree with is that France should be above London - the eyes are super creepy and I would give plus points to the French mascot because one of them has a running blade, which is the first display of acknowledging the Paralympics, which I thought was great and edged them over London!

Interestingly the Paralympics phyrge is the first mascot to be physically challenged since the 90s: in 1992 Barcelona had Petra (who had no arms) and Sondre (who lacked a leg). Otherwise beyond that no Paralympic mascot really had any sort of impendiment until the Phryges. Also I feel like I don't agree with his choices sometimes, namely Amik being adorable and the poor phryges (and to an extent wenlock and Mandeville but they've been roasted a lot so that's not surprising). I think it's the high pitched voices they make that appeals them to me.
