There isn't any point in having mainoo and Jones in there as only one of them will get minutes because they are both too young and I think mainoo is better and more matured than jones so I'd take him.

@@bobf1267 I think it makes sense to try it cause Trent can influence the game more in midfield, and Walker is possibly the best defensive right back in the world. If you're playing France you have to play Walker to keep out Mbappe, but you wouldn't want to drop Trent, so makes sense to try and get him in midfield if possible. but I agree Jones is a good shout if it doesn't work

@@Anderslaw Jones is a better midfielder than Trent and Trent is a better right back than walker, it’s that simple. You play your best players at international. Stones/Rice can cover against Mbappe/Thuram. Walker isn’t needed at all, he’s fast but makes plenty of mistakes and hasn’t had a great season.

You're right Walker hasn't had a great season, but I'd still back him 1v1 against Mbappe more than any other right back. And while Jones is a better midfielder than Trent, Jones can't do what Trent can, and I think depending on the opposition they're both good options to have. Of course, if Jones were to start in midfield depending on the opposition, I'd have Trent at right back ahead of Walker

@@Anderslaw loool do you know see what you’ve just said, if it’s not as simple as player x being better than player y then why would you want Trent in at midfield? There’s multiple players much better suited to that role than Trent even though they’re worse (Jones, Mainoo, Gallagher, Barkley all shouts I like). End of the day I’ll always believe it’s a case of picking the best players in the best positions and trying to find a way of playing them all, Walker isn’t good enough to even warrant an argument. Is he probably the best option against Mbappe? Yeah, but Trent has also defended well vs Mbappe before and it’s highly likely that no matter who plays, Mbappe doing well is dependent on whether he feels like it, so may as well get the best attacking threat and player against him anyway

Leao, Felix, Jota, Ronaldo, Bruno, Bernardo, Vitinha, Neves, Cancelo, Dias, Neto, Palhinha, Inacio, guerreiro, Nuno Mendes are all either very good or top players. To limit them to just 4 is stupid. Yet England are being bigged up when the likes of Maguire, Pickford, Chillwell and Gallagher/Henderson are likely to be starting. As well as Southgate only winning 4 out of 25 matches against teams ranked in the top 10.
