While I respect your opinion!, I good chunk of the friends sets don’t feel like “basically duplo”, one is a 14+ mansion

It only means I am as likely to buy Friends sets as I am to buy Duplo. Don't worry, my daughter is about to turn 1. My likelihood of buying Duplo and Friends is increasing every day.

Picking up a whole bunch tomorrow in no particular order - Spiderman vs Sandman, Polaroid Camera, Retro Camera, Spiderman Head, Dino Fossils, Technic Garbage Truck and Mini Bulldozer, Mini Ariel's Castle, Buildable Rocket, Chyna Mickey Brickhead, Tropical Ukulele and the Interstellar Spaceship. I really want the X-Jet but I can't for $85.

From a technical perspective, I think this is one of the strongest 3 in 1 waves we've had. But at this point if the subject matter of a set doesn't grab my interest right away, I know LEGO will release something newer, and more interesting to me, by the time I start looking backwards at older waves.

agree on the T-Rex fossil. I’ll wait to see if others come, but I’m happy with my ancient Ideas fossil skeleton (why not just rerelease that with refreshed design?)
